The mid 60s and early 70s were the very best.Always something new, all the big stars of the day playing packed theatres every night. The summer weather was always great and people were free...
Worked at "Cowtown" the old Marina with Sheriff Danny Arnold in 1976. Hot summer and great fun. Remember putting out hundreds of deck chairs once a week when the Marina was taken over by professional wrestling!
Id forgotten a out that, the cowboys used to fall off the roof when shot..
Loved the thrill and the unique smell of riding the snails in joyland
Oh yes the Sound of the snails over the rails was alwaxs a thrill ...
In the summer of 75 myself and a school chum stuart marshall worked for my uncle dusty miller on the deck chair sites. We became aware of life then and met many girls. Wonderful memories.
My favourite memory was the fair, the helter skelter had a massive wooden bowl at the bottom which u used to slide into at speed, sometimes going up the side ,but like wall of death, never seen one any where else .
One of my favourite memories and I still think of it every time I drive or walk past the building opposite the Britannia pier where the world of wax used to be with the faces of Laurel and Hardy. Chaplin. Monroe. Presley etc around the top of the windows. Do you have any pictures of this?
Very good!
Wild West show on seafront and actually having shells on the beach
probably winter gardens
Favorite moment in Yarmouth? Leaving.....
wow....
Sad !!!!!
Then you weren't there with the right people!
@@margaretkrings4807 Sorry Margaret but have you seen the drug problem? Willingly unemployed, welfare kids and alcohol? Trash, spray paint..... Beautiful buildings, historical town and great food but that's about it unfortunately.
