She knows her stuff. Even sitting there, she gives off the natural vibe of a navy pilot. Her description of her "WIZZO", B.O.B. is spot on, and her delivery of the "backseater" line in the movie was perfect. Plus the multi-color click pen. Nice touch.
@@badfoody Yes they all did, but she appears to have taken (or is naturally inclined towards) the actual pilot culture / vibe with her rather than just the acting experience. Watch the other actors various interviews and they sound like actors talking about a cool movie they did. She sounds like a pilot talking about the cool acting she got to do. Great example: Her description of the audience getting to see what another plane looks like that close up (i.e., in formation). To me that's seeing through pilot eyes, not an actor's.
I feel like this movie will push many of these actors to likely do less green screen / more stunts because they now know they are capable of it and don’t want to lower the bar.
I like the fact her character was apart of three top air unit in the Navy if you get a chance look up the black aces for me growing up that was the unit I wanted to be apart of
I love the fact that they gave her the standard CWU-27P flight suit same as everyone else. It would have been so easy to go with the dumb Hollywood orthodoxy of "Oh we have a hot babe we need to show her off!" and give her a custom spandex flight suit, but nope, same 27P as everyone else wears. Which she SHOULD be wearing because Phoenix is an aviator, not a runway model.
If you look in her left shoulder pocket, she is carrying a 4-color pen. Common for TOPGUN Instructors. That's how deep the veracity of this movie goes.
The way she is written makes you believe she will be the youngest female admiral in the US Navy ever, in a few years. (That would make a good spinoff movie.)
she's clearly done her homework on this. the one thing she is spot on correct on would be watching any movie or video with air to air scenes. what she knows just from doing a few scenes in actual aircraft puts her light years ahead of those who have not been there in an aircraft in these conditions.
I personally perceive Phoenix as being an untouchable; a woman that is easy to develop a crush on because of her reliability-charm. The charm however does not last long because it fades as soon as another guy is in her spotlight. In that moment, the singular guy realizes that he's in no way going to be able to court her, because he has too much competition, and it will only result in a burn-out of grief, sadness, and, loneliness. So it's best to avoid her all together. This way you never to have to feel the lasting sting of defeating disappointment in knowing that you never had the opportunity to love her. I know the feeling from experience. I fell hard for an officer woman that had beautiful dark hair. She was part Brazilian. I loved spending all my hours with her, learning the office ins and outs, during that summer internship of 2019. When the internship finished, she encouraged me to find her on Facebook and friend her. When I did, several weeks later, she blocked me. Who blocks someone that they encourage to be friended by? She put a hole in my heart.
Monica, you are so cool to have done the roll and think it is the coolest thing you could ever experience. The closest I can come on land is the pull and the turbo sounds inside an Alfa Romeo 4C. the pull on a dodge viper is another close one.
I think she Monica was the best as acting Phoenix in this movie...she is so charming and looked brave lady.....I loved this movie Top gun Maverick because of Monica and Tom....but of course coz of other people too, well I bought barbie doll from Phoenix actually
From what ive seen in clips, her character is what a female character should be. None of that pushing in our face "im female and im strong, respect me" woke crap. Just a well written, well acted character that blends in with the cast. Any of the pilots could have been a female or male and it would work pretty much the same. Thats good character writing. Focus on the story, not about some arbitrary statement that has nothing to do with the film.
LOVE Monica, but how these scenes are cut and showing all the questions first having the viewer needing to remember the questions through the video... I am sorry, but I don't think this format is working well.
Nope, she watched the first top gun film during college and was deciding to become an actress or no. then she thought it would be amazing to film a movie like the first film and now she did
I love the way she played the role... She is stunning but that was utterly irrelevant. She was there because she was that good. Her looks are a distant second......
Not all of them but yeah it’s a safe bet it happens, It’s a highly competitive industry full of attractive women…. Run by rich men…. I’m a guy but I can do the math on that one
Talented, smart beautiful young actress who nailed her part. I bought her character 100%. Hope her career continues to soar.
Phoenix is such a badass call sign! It suits her well! I love it!

Yeah man
They spent 3 months in a pilot bootcamp. Learning cinematography,Piloting, Jargon etc

I wonder if she tried pushing all the colors at once.
You’re spot on. I’ve been around a lot of female fighter pilots and this actress totally nailed it.
“I’m dead, dickhead” was the absolute perfect delivery
Yep, she cracked me up with that line.
She's great, a perfect cast, was instantly my favorite character in the film. I expect to see her in a lot more action films now.
God granted your wish. She will be in an action serie with Schwarzy....
Terming her with Lewis Pullman (“Bob”) as WIZZO was hilarious …
both very serious characters in roles - but with some comedic lines.
She would be dope in the John Wick universe.
you know she makes a good character when she doesn’t look like an actor, she looks like a pilot
She did an excellent job bring ‘Phoenix’ to life, well done
It's gotta be strange to act out action scenes in front of a green screen after being part of a movie like this.
There was no green screens
@@cherbert359 Exactly - the films she does after this one won't be the same for her.
@@Spudeaux very good point.
I feel like this movie will push many of these actors to likely do less green screen / more stunts because they now know they are capable of it and don’t want to lower the bar.
In the film, she is a pilot of the VFA-41 Black Aces Squadron, the best in the navy ♠
She did a great job of portraying a fighter pilot (as they all did).
I like the fact her character was apart of three top air unit in the Navy if you get a chance look up the black aces for me growing up that was the unit I wanted to be apart of
What a great choice she was for cast member!!!! I am just hoping they ALL return for Top Gun 3..........
she's been stunning in the movie. in fact her role is my second favorite after Tom's role!

I love that they didn't make Phoenix and Rooster love interests. They clearly had mutual respect for each other, and left it at that.

@eclecticreader961 bruh it's not that serious lmaooo
^ Monica’s so talented & stunning as always♥️

What a beautiful young woman and she was great in this movie.
Shes now immortalised in Barbie doll too 👍🏻
She was great in Stumptown !
I hated her character so much, but yeah she was great, sad it got canceled.
She was in a challenging position to be around all that testosterone as the only woman. She is badass!
lol
She was the best character
Besides Mav obviously. Yeah she was my favorite
She's super special. Totally killed the role of Phoenix.
Stunning
I loved her so much in the film

I think she Monica was the best as acting Phoenix in this movie...she is so charming and looked brave lady.....I loved this movie Top gun Maverick because of Monica and Tom....but of course coz of other people too, well I bought barbie doll from Phoenix actually
When i saw the trailer i thought she was Blu Hunt ( she played the Hollow in the Originals and Mirage in the New mutants). They look so much alike.
I LOVE YOU MONICA!!! 😳💕
Nice!
She is Best 👍👍👍
O she is def Hollywood’s future
Monica is just so gorgeous... Like, love at first sight kind of gorgeous
And a very pretty smile 🥰
I'm in love 😍
You look like real pilot
Big fan
OMG. AMERICA'S SWEETHEART.
Nice
TOP GUN: PHOENIX next?
I believe Raymond Lee is gonna be in this movie
"Nice!", Phoenix, Top Gun: Maverick. 2022.
Never had a female pilot in my old squadron VA-81 Sunliners
I think every time I see her in top gun maverick she looks like Dina from the last of us part 2, she'd be perfect to play her in the TV series

True true.
She is so beautiful.
Lalalala it’s a film. It is a movie.

She reminds me of Eva Strauss Iwia

Who is joe
Director
LOVE Monica, but how these scenes are cut and showing all the questions first having the viewer needing to remember the questions through the video... I am sorry, but I don't think this format is working well.
🌹
Taylor = Se puede ser mujer, , piloto , bonita y una de las mejores mujeres lideres de los power rangers junto con jen 👍.
Like her performance in the movie better than Chiren~
she was great also it wasnt her your face she was just one trainees who happened to be a woman also very comparable to Vazquez from Aliens(1986)
She looks like Kylie Jenner.
It's weird I'm attracted to her with the regulation bun. With her normal hair down? Not so much.
I feel you brother 😂 metoo
Wait. She was still in college when this role was offered?
Nope, she watched the first top gun film during college and was deciding to become an actress or no. then she thought it would be amazing to film a movie like the first film and now she did
my head canon is that phoenix is mavericks bastard kid.
I love the way she played the role... She is stunning but that was utterly irrelevant. She was there because she was that good. Her looks are a distant second......
I am sorry this sucks with all the cuts
Can you not just show the interview? Ugh
She doesn't even show her feet in the movie, what a waste.
Is it true that female actresses have to sleep with director/producer to be cast for a hollywood movie???
Not all of them but yeah it’s a safe bet it happens, It’s a highly competitive industry full of attractive women…. Run by rich men….
I’m a guy but I can do the math on that one
Bellissima
omg I am so in love with Phoenix, what a beautiful woman!!!
This woman is a goddess
