Very few records have this affect on me. But this one truly blew me away. I even got emotional when i edited it. I feel blessed to have discovered it. xxx
Even The Beatles were floored when they heard this. They knew then that they had to keep pushing boundaries to keep up with the great Brian Wilson. It's just a stunning song. Thanks for a great reaction to it.
This was my wife and my wedding song because we both still love it so much. Every time I hear it the song fills my heart up and I feel the same way I did on our wedding day. This song is Brian Wilson's masterpiece and quite possibly one of the most perfect pop songs ever recorded.
You're in good company in crying to it. Paul McCartney has said not many songs bring him to tears; this is one of them. He and Brian Wilson once sang it together on stage. McCartney said that he managed to keep himself together on stage but in rehearsals he'd broken down. A beautiful song.
I love this song. I understand how this song got to you. It affected me too. Gives me chills. The lyrics are so deep. I enjoy your reactions. Thank you for all you do.💜
Please don't ever apologize for getting emotional. You seem to be a wonderful and sensitive person. The world is full of phonies, I can assure you that you are as genuine as can be. This may be my favorite song by the Beach Boys. Be well.
You got emotional because you had just heard one of the most beautiful songs in the rock pantheon. This album is considered by many people to be their best effort.
What a beautiful song, it's easy to get emotional to songs like this. It's written so well and it takes me right back to the early 70s or possibly before, as I remember the song as a young child and it has such a nice vibe, that it makes you feel good. This tune has such a positive feel. Lovely !
This was immediately influential on The Beatles. The revolver track good day Sunshine features a vocal canon in its outro. Probably. From the direct influence of this song.
It's difficult sometimes to know what a song can do just at the right moment. I remember i was up all night working away getting stuff ready for others arriving early morning and being floored... It was Janis Ian singing Stars. It had nothing relating to what was going on in my life but it hit me on the head like a thunder storm. Knew i had to take a few days as there was something deeper needing a talking to by myself. You've had a pretty lousy week emotionally and a blooming season of bugs hitting your lungs. Porridge, lots of soup and curled up watching Tiny Tim prank calling will help
just another comment how a musical prodigy appreciated Brian Wilson, John Cale formerly the velvet Underground wrote a Tribute to Brian Wilson on his album "Slow Dazzlle' called. "I believe you Mr Wilson"
The word "genius" has been way overused for years, but, Brian Wilson is and was. He's up there with Mozart & Beethoven. I would urge you to dig into the story of Brian and The Beach Boys. He is an incredibly gifted and sensitive soul.
@@gpreactions3194 I know you're in The UK, but there is a long (decades?) running program here in The States "American Masters" which runs on PBS, (Public Broadcasting Service). About 6 months ago, they featured "Brian Wilson: Long Road Home" ua-cam.com/video/dhgxT8MbjNM/v-deo.html This is a link to the program for rent ($4.99) or purchase. Brian Wilson's dad was a "wanna be" singer/musician. Sparing the details, Murray Wilson was bitterly jealous of his teenage "prodigy" son. He was very abusive to Brian, his sweet, sensitive genius son.
@@g.e.5723 after listening to God Only Knows I did a lot of reading up on the BB and Brian W, and I wasn't at all surprised to find that his dad was like he was towards his sons and selling music. x
why do these people think the world cares about their reaction to almost 60 year old songs that they should have heard many years ago?? Narcissism perhaps?
The genius of God Only Knows will last forever. I have heard it a thousand times and I still got tears in my eyes watching your reaction video!
Now that's a reaction.

another magical song by them is "Surf's Up" very well worth checking out
@@OfficialNIKMIK Indeed Nikmik, that song especially from the smile sessions is the one that just blows me away, amazing harmonies.
I'm not saying this is the best song ever created but you will probably find it nominated as the best song ever more than any other song.
Perfectly OK to shed a tear over this beautiful song

So many gorgeous Beach Boys songs. From 1970, try "Add Some Music to Your Day," which should be the theme for everyone who loves music!

Landmark album, love the harmonies. Should def check out the whole album.
After that experience. Absolutely. x
I also get emotional from this song and a couple of others from them. Great reaction. You might like surfer girl also if you haven't heard it already.

Sorry for the late reply. I have the movie Love and Mercy waiting to be watched, as soon as i have finished reacting to all tracks on Pet Sounds xx

Thank you. I'll add that to my play list.
I've seen you get emotional to two songs.
Bruce Springsteen and The Beach Boys.
(Both American BTW).
