He did this 20 years ago maybe more. On unplugged. I have the CD.I discovered this tune 20 years ago.I love this song Thanks for sharing,I'm 63 years old, Sharon
You take some of the best songs on the planet and do a open heart surgery on them with the precision of a fine surgeon! Pure Masterclass!!! Thank you so much, Thom! Don't ever quit on us 🙂
Great lesson cool song. Congratulations on your new child!!! I was going to ask if there's any way possible you could do a lesson on that Irish guitar God Rory Gallagher??? Just a fantastic player. You always do just such great lessons. Your enthusiasm is the best part. Keep on rocking.
That was great Thom! I am not a guitar player but I always learn something about the instrument from watching one of your videos. Thanks & I hope that you and your little one are doing well.
Hey Guitar Pilgrim. I love Clapton and clearly so do you. Can you do a lesson on the intro solo and the main solo of the song "five long years" from "Nothing But the Blues"? I can barely figure out what he is playing. Thank you.
Another important thing when playing slide, especially when you are a beginner, is to keep it parallel to the frets. Otherwise you will sound of key most of the time.
GP, if you ever do an AMA, I'd like to ask "what's your song selection process?" Unlike many other creators, you don't go for the 'hits', in this case 'Tears in Heaven' but dig deep, a true music lover. Thanks for song and the video, have a great summer and good luck with the move and newest addition to the Pilgrim household. Peace
I play this with no pick, slide on my third finger and it’s very important to mute behind the slide or you get some crazy tones going on. As always, good job
Thank you Thom for uploading this song! I was not familiar with it. I’m guessing it comes from his Unplugged session? Thanks for the slide tips. Still learning the slide but I am having trouble keeping the other strings quiet. Practice I guess!
hi thom. Would you please make video about one of these jimi hendrix songs. (Drifting) (Wait until tomorrow) (May this be love) (One rainy wish) (Scorpio woman
@@GuitarPilgrim Well that's great, most of us ordinary blokes can't do that. I just wish I could.. Not being an obvious talented musician which you undoubtably are. I wouldn't be able to identify the key. And alternative tuning is an alien world to me. Thanks anyway for a great video.

Clapton voice is rarely mentioned because if his guitar playing. I find the tone of his voice quite unique and his range to be pretty good.
Absolutely love that song. Claptons version is a gem.
Certainly one of the best songs on the unplugged… Eric brought a soul in the song :)

Clapton doing what Clapton does. Take a so so not so good song and turning it into a better song, much better song. Kind of Clapton's career.
Hey My Friend You Play Just As Good As He Does You Make It Look So Easy Thanks

Is this similar chords to one more try by George Michael?
Great, but where do you get the backing track from?

Why does guitar UA-cam know I'm on a acoustic kick.
Why did you don't record videos "Stop This War" (like about Ukraine) when sovereign countries bombing by USA or UK?
