Such a great video. I’m on the journey of finding my “uniform” and getting rid of most of my cheap fast fashion clothing; it’s not easy! Thanks for the great tips!!
ALSO, don’t go shopping on a time-crunch! Speaking from personal experience, it can be stressful and you will probably end up grabbing things you really didn’t like or not grabbing what you wanted because you were too stressed... great video!
just found your channel/vlogs and i've clearly been missing out. you are super genuine! totally agree with you about sleeping on purchases. if i can't think of three ways i would wear something i keep my coins hunty
Totally agree about sleeping on things. You can like something when you’re in a certain mood, but then hate it when you’re in another mood. The things you like in almost every mood are the things that are really “you”. I always sleep on stuff and revisit wish lists too. Amazing video as usual!
This is so good. We've all bought something that we think we can't live without, and then never worn it. I really try to think more now, walk away and think about it before I purchase. Most of my most worn pieces are classics and neutrals, I think these are the best to invest in. And I love all the same colour outfits. 😄 x
Love the promotion of intentional and sustainable shopping. A little tip for testing the waters: when you find a piece you think you like take pictures in the changing room, not insta worthy pics - regular pics, and then walk away. When you're really thinking about it you'll have that picture reference of yourself in that garment to reflect on. Same pieces look different on different bodies and it's really helpful to see if you like it on you without commiting and avoids having to undergo the process of returning something which is a headache with certain stores.
Love this video so much! I’ve been decluttering my wardrobe over the past few months and I’m keeping a journal of what I’m getting rid of and WHY! I’ve bought so many things on a whim or because it’s trendy. I’m finally finding my personal style yay! So through this journey, I’m learning what to avoid buying in future.
Best find your style video out there ❤️ Also I recommend getting things second hand when you are testing the waters or wanting a trendy piece; you can often get unworn trendy garments plus you help extent life of that garment. :)
Haha the bloopers were awesome! Good tips though! I feel like our generation is also looking to be smarter with their purchases which is such a good thing. It’s a good trend personally and for the environment. Maybe not so much for the bigger mass producing stores as we’ve seen with a certain one this past Winter. Thanks for sharing though. I can relate to being on that journey for the last few years too. I think it also comes with age and getting to know what you like. 🖤
Yes!! I'm so happy with the awareness that's being raised lately on this topic, hopefully this trend will stay and it'll teach upcoming generations to be less excessive and more conscious, at least that's what I hope to teach my children one day.. & I totally agree! The older I get the more and more I understand what I like. Thanks for watching love!! ❤️☺️
You have the best fashion videos! So helpful. I wouldn’t mind hearing more in depth about your journey of discovering your fashion taste bc I think I still have a long ways to go
You are my favourite fashion guru-idol. I used to keep buying just for the sake of following the trend and want to look "cool" and fit in the community. But you taught me that it's okay of not following the "one-time trend" and buy outfits, home decor and etc that will lasts for few years. You also made me appreciate neutral colours more as I used to feel neutral means boring. I hope you make videos on shoes and handbags collection soon. And thank you for taking your time to share your tips. Love you!
Finding your style is definitely the most important thing for not overbuying, I recently got rid of more than half of my clothes and most of it was colours I'd never wear or cuts I don't like on me. Now I can be a lot more careful and strict with my purchases ! I know I need to stop buying crazy bright colours and patterns for the one day of the year I feel like wearing them. I like neutrals and I don't care if it's boring ! ^^
Tips go to the mall try on everything you like in every size that could look good on you from every single store you would buy stuff from then don’t buy anything . Go home sleep in it and then the next day but what you liked online.
I love your outtakes! It's important to know your body shape too and what flatters it and undergarments that work because that contributes to how well clothes look on your body. Would it be weird to ask you to do a video on types on undergarments to wear under white clothes and linen clothes(?) as I find if you get it wrong it shows up under those fabrics.
the most realistic tips i have ever head. Can't wait to see the next video how you curate your monthly budgeting for having some useful guilty spend (ex: shoes, homeware, etc). thx for sharing
I’m a little late on this lol, what I usually do when I’m looking for things, is I set my mind on what specific colour, pattern, cut and style I’m looking for, and I will solely look for these, if I can’t find find them or the fit isn’t right, I won’t buy them. All from past experiences of shoppers remorse lol 😆
Loved this video, slowly but surely finding my personal style! I know now to stop buying the same green-tone button up top. Have any tips for getting rid of things that you *think* you might need (but reaaaallly) youre guilty you didn't wear it enough? I have 1 bag of clothing ready for donation but need the extra push!
If it’s in good condition I usually sell it on Poshmark, don’t be scared of the app if you’ve never used it, it’s incredibly simple.... but if it can’t be sold I give myself a time frame, if the bag is in season I’ll wait until the end of the season and if it’s not in season I wait until the season gets here and see if I use it. If I don’t use it I push myself to get rid of it but there’s nothing wrong with giving yourself a bit of time as long as it’s not TOO much time. The journey to curating your closet is always the hardest in the beginning but you’ll start getting the hang of it as you go and it’ll become easier and easier to let go of things that you do not use . ❤️
This was so incredibly useful and comforting. I've been following you on instagram for a while and didn't even realize you had a youtube channel too until I found this video. It was great, thank you, subbed.
Loved this! Your style is one of the first things that drew me to your channel/socials. Have you thought about doing a style evolution video? I think that would be cool! 💕✨
Thanks lovely! And yes!! I’ve gotten a couple of suggestions to do one and I think it’ll be fun, I just need to gather all of my old (embarrassing) pictures but I’ll film it soon ❤️
Thanks for share with us your opinion. I found your channel seeking an space where I can improve my English with a topic that interest me, well I got this.
Black, off black, dark black, and light black LOL! (skirts, pants, dresses).... Slouchy neck t-shirts (any color, long or short sleeves, patterns or solids), nice belts, nice loafer or ballet flat shoes, slouchy jacket, minimal jewelry made of natural materials -- one long necklace (sometimes doubled up). Midi length skirts and dresses. Effortless, simple, elegant, neat. If its short or tight, throw on a loooong cardigan. My favorite look has changed from sexy secretary or teacher look (like Charlotte from Sex in the City), but still love that look though.
I loved this! Super helpful, I feel it’s hard for me cuz I love to do unique photo shoots for myself or others but once I’m done with a shoot or project I find myself never wearing the outfit again :(( any ideas or suggestions?
Depending on what the photo shoots are for, you could potentially rent or borrow certain items (even thrift then re-thrift!) But also Audrey Coyne recently shared a video about how to keep a curated wardrobe looking fresh by styling things differently. It's quite interesting to see how one or two little tweaks can make such a dramatic change!
One thing that was life-changing, in terms of fashion, was figuring out what colors worked on me. Believe it or not I would see models with great outfits on Pinterest and I would want them, even if their coloring was completely different from mine. Now, when I see an outfit I like, the first thing I think: Is this my color? And often the answer will come back: no. It looks great on HER, but it is not right for me. So freeing. I buy a lot less, but what I do buy fits my coloring. I will NEVER look good in bright red. NEVER. So I will never buy something red again. FIND YOUR COLORING.
Comments like this are the reason that a lot of girls hate their natural hair. I know you most likely didn’t mean it with bad intentions but for future reference, don’t start a sentence with “you look so much better with/when..” Growing up, I would get comments like this all the time and I ended up burning my hair to a crisp and damaged the hell out of it in order to have it perfectly straight all of the time.
@@Gemaryermus wow wow... why r u so rude. I was genuinely praising you. Straight hair suits you better and it brings the glow in your face. It is obvious that different people look better with different styles. Its fact. Did i say that u look ugly when do put you hair up???. You are full of negativity. Never expected someone who talks about minimalism and peace and etc..will be so insecure.
I am not trying to be rude or negative. It’s not about being insecure either, it’s about kindly asking you to re-think the way that you phrase your words. Maybe you weren’t aware but my hair is naturally curly.. so telling me that it looks much better straight is a bit rude and even though I don’t take these comments to heart, they can be very damaging to someone who struggles with accepting their natural features. Yes, I talk about minimalism and peace on my channel but I also talk about accepting yourself and embracing your natural hair a lot on here too. Maybe you didn’t know that & that’s ok but the way that you phrased your statement made it seem like you were aware. Like I said before, not sure if you meant it with bad intentions. Remember that it’s very hard to know how people are saying things through the internet. I don’t take these things to heart.. I’m just asking you to see things from another perspective. 🤍
Such a great video. I’m on the journey of finding my “uniform” and getting rid of most of my cheap fast fashion clothing; it’s not easy! Thanks for the great tips!!
Glad you liked it dear! ❤️❤️
Sleep on it is my favorite one! I almost bought a Gucci bag once, then slept and was like HUM I don't need it haha
„When I really like something it‘s sold out.“ 😂 Story of my life, ...at least I‘m saving my money. 🤷🏻♀️
@@hxrin1882 I feel you! Its so frustrating especially if you fell in love with a piece 😔

Quickest way to change my mind is to try it on. If it doesn't fit or doesn't look good then it's a no go. I save money that way...
