I was blissfully unaware of the fact that the song had no structure or recurring tune, and that I couldn't sing a note. However, 8 years later I took a lot of the lyrics and some of the tunes and rewrote it to resemble an actual song. Now it's one of my favorite songs I've ever written.

I wrote a song when I was 7 called "The Path of Dreams". I thought it was the best thing, and performed it at family gatherings and stuff. I was blissfully unaware of the fact that the song had no structure or recurring tune, and that I couldn't sing a note. However, 8 years later I took a lot of the lyrics and some of the tunes and rewrote it to resemble an actual song. Now it's one of my favorite songs I've ever written.
