Sooo sweet..I sincerely hope that all parents if able, put their young children to bed every single night, as well as sharing dinner time with one another. Its so important that your children have that sense of security and feeling loved. Having dinner together as a family is a MUST. It helps them to learn communication with others besides the fact of talking their day out. Its also a good time for parents to give their kids lessons on table manners, which is still important believe it or not. So many families have dropped this routine in order to sit in front of the TV and ignore each other.
My family (mom, me-19, and two brothers almost 18 and 14) still try to have dinner/supper as a family as many times as possible during the week!

I've always done a family supper at the table every night. Unless they are spending the night or have something come up (which is rare) we ALWAYS do supper together, it's "mandatory." And now that they are older (like teens), they have told me they look forward to supper every night. It's such a special time.

We have always got our girls to bed by laying next to them until they fall asleep. They are 2 and 3 and we love that time of night. It doesnt take them long to fall asleep and its nice for them to fall asleep next to mum or dad 🥰

Since your dogs like the human food so much more and their tummies are ok with it, you should check out Just Food For Dogs or The Farmers Dog they can send pre-made balanced home cooked meals for dogs that are way more palatable then dry kibble
