WOW! That vocal improv section is so chilling and incredible. What a great example of using the voice as an instrument. What an amazing addition to an already pretty creepy song.
I can't give enough props to the two background singers. They really elevate the already atmospheric songs to an even crazier level of amazing. Gives me serious ghostly chills! Hope they both have serious music careers now.
Lost a family member this week thru trauma. Took his own young life, I'm absolutely gutted for him and his dear family. Brings it home. Heartbroken. I thank God for Trent for helping me thru my own personal trauma years ago thru his words, emotion, music....he saved me. Stopped me doing the worst. I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for him.. Wish I could've helped our lad.. I wish our boy was here. My heart is sore and back in the dark. Absolutely gutted for his family
when i was on heroin this was the song i'd listen to during my little dope ritual. the sounds in this song are the darkest sounds that have ever been heard
this song always takes me back to a really distinct place in my life. when i hear it, all these flashbacks come to me, places, smells, memories, feelings, thoughts. it's like they're all linked and connected in my brain. i wonder if i'll ever forget
Absolutely mind bottling...just cant get over how music like this (only this -NIN) can be so dark depressing yet light/uplifting at the same damn time. Thank you NIN for helping me to hang on! ;)
The song itself had been already great, but this performance and beautiful back vocals made it sound like an orgasm of intergalactic scales) Absolutely love it
I recently fell asleep to this song.. Somehow remembered hearing in my dreams but couldn't pin it with the background singing but i loved how it sounded. I now just found it!

Trent’s pants…❤️🔥hawt. Can’t believe he’s only 5’7”.. im 5’5”. My cousin, Josh, who’s now dead, & my older brother, Michael, saw him in the late 90’s in Gainesville, FL, at an old Smok shop I used to work at in the 2000s. He was buying a small weed pipe, & he had 2 security guards.. my bro & Cous ran out back to see if they could see him & they saw a black stretch limo pull away.. Crazy. Wish I had been there. I hung out in that part in Gainesville for years growing up..went to HS at PKY right next to there & UF. Too cool. It’s a small world after all. My bro said he seemed shorter than he thought he’d be..my bro is 6’1” or something.. he’s a tall mo fo. I like short men, tho.

I think Trent is brewing something really good in his mind. He is going in a really good direction including back up vocalists, and brass instruments to his music, and I hope he fully utilizes them in the future. Let the women have more play time, like this song. Not have them just overlap your voice. I also really enjoyed the saxophone solo, It added nice dynamics the music. When these moments happened, the crowd gave really good feedback. There is something peeking its head out, that I hope Nine Inch Nails exploits. How cool would it be to have Nine Inch Nails with the back-up vocalists, Saul Williams, and Radiohead make an album. Picture something like the end of Radiohead's "The National Anthem" level of Brass instruments, Saul William's energy, and everything Nine Inch Nails constantly brings to the table, like the semi-tribal beats in "Came back Hunted."
This version seems different. Like his ending outro. He doesn't keep repeating the words. He pauses inbetween. The backing vocals are okay, but kinda let it down ever so slightly in my opinion. Still class overall though.

Verse 1]
I woke up today
To find myself in the other place
With a trail of footprints
From where I ran away
Seems everything I've heard just might be true
And you know me
(Well you think you do)
Sometimes, I have everything
Yet I wish I felt something
[Chorus 1]
Do you know how far this has gone?
Just how damaged have I become?
When I think I can overcome
It runs even deeper
[Verse 2]
And in a dream I'm a different me
With a perfect you
We fit perfectly
And for once in my life I feel complete
And I still want to ruin it
Afraid to look
As clear as day
This plan has long been underway
I hear them call
I cannot stay
The voice inviting me away
Chorus 2]
Do you know how far this has gone?
Just how damaged have I become?
When I think I can overcome
It runs even deeper
Everything that matters is gone
All the hands of hope have withdrawn
Could you try to help me hang on?
It runs…
[Outro]
I'm straight
I won't crack
On my way
And I can't turn back
I'm okay
I'm on track
On my way
And I can't turn back
I stayed
On this track
Gone too far
And I can't come back
