- Finding a cook pot for hiking or bushcraft that has all the right features can be difficult. I recently found the Camelwill 1.2 Litre pot that combines the best features of the 12cm Zebra Loop Handle pot, the GSI Stainless Steel Ketalist and the Solo Lite 900ml pot
Dimensions:
width - 12cm / 4.72 inches
height - 11.5cm / 4.53 inches
weight - 350 grams / 12.35 ounces
This is the eBay listing where I bought the pot

$17 USD with a bowl, spork and bag. Delivery tomorrow. I am anxious to see. Thanks for the heads up, and update.
I enjoy your videos. I don't mind the ads. Glad you are still here, as it took me a few years to find your channel. Best wishes.
I bough a second one for another video and it is very slightly different from the first but still a great kettle. Thanks for commenting
My order did arrive today, well yesterday now. Nice looking pot. Cute little bowl (looks like double walled?) and folding spork. I hope to test them today. I do "see" your point about the small holes to the spout. Your solution, bigger holes, sounds reasonable. Grin
Thanks for the videos and all your work you share with us. Best wishes,
Don
Excellent find Mark. Extremely nice pot.
I have been using it constantly all winter and it is working out really well. I am about to do a long term use video on it. Thanks for commenting.
There is a lot to like about that pot for sure. A very nice size and shape for the solo camper.
My thinking as well. Time will tell if it will stand up as well as the Zebra does. Thanks for commenting Lonnie
That’s a pretty nifty little pot!
Not bad for the money but only time will tell. Thanks for commenting Vandy
Glorious day in NW England, just got home after a day paddling in my canoe all day and found out my friend Mark has uploaded a new video. Lying in a hammock watching it, can life get better?
I am blushing. Thanks for the kind words my friend
Nice find Mark. A great all in one pot. That might make a nice oven. The lid style looks good for setting a few coals on it. Supersede you dog bowl setup.
Glad you like it. I thought the same thing about setting coals on the lid. Not a lot of space inside but enough for a small muffin or bannock. I want to test it a bit in fire before trying it our for baking. Thanks for commenting
The floppy handles are easily cured with a pair of pliers..I've used mine all winter, very pleased..
I did that very thing. Easy fix as you say. Thanks for commenting
Now that is a sweet little bush pot for sure!
Not bad for the money but a long term use test is needed before I can recommend it. Thanks for commenting
It does seem to be the perfect size, very nice design. Thanks for sharing Mark
Next time your up this way come take a look at it. Thanks for commenting Wayne
Thanks Mark for a peak at the new Gear Can't wait for that Coffee ! ATB Ter God Bless
Coffee coming...couple of new types and new ways of making it. Thanks for commenting Terry
I bought one of these a few months ago, as I needed to watch my budget, I was so surprised by it's quality that I don't even look at the expensive pots. Plus I found that the floppy handles pop easily off and back on again. Thanks Mark 👍🙂
Hi Mike. Glad you enjoyed the video. I agree these are great pots. I have a followup video on the pot if you are interested. Thanks for commenting
great looking little pot, glad you mention the straining holes , i spotted that problem.
thanks mark.
billy joe
I have drilled out as many of the holes as I could reach with my drill and it pours much better. I may yet use my Dremel tool to make one large hole but I will use it a bit before deciding. Thanks for commenting
Love it. Thank you for bringing this all to our attention.
Got to love a bargain. Will give it the test of time and see how it stands up. Thanks for commenting Jeep
I was looking for a light weight pot that has all those benefits at a reasonable price and think that you discovered the one for me! LOL It is on order and has been shipped, can't wait to give it a whirl. Like you, I enjoy my zebra pots but they are a little heavy, I usually use those for car camping. I do love budget gear and we will surely find out down the road if it will give us our 20 bucks worth! Thanks for sharing Mark!
Hi Jackie. This pot appears to e a good all-rounder but only time will tell. It is a little lighter than the Zebra but not by much. I am starting to see 750ml titanium pots with bail and butterfly handles under $30.00..They look interesting. Thanks for commenting
Even a little lighter is ok, especially with all the bells and whistles that it has compared to the Zebra. I have a titanium pot and other than light not that fussy about it. I use the titanium for long distance backpacking only and just for boiling water on a stove. I prefer stainless for shoving in a fire and actually cooking in.
thought that looked familiar... I have the Snow peak. It has an open hole to the spout so it pours quite well. The bail is less complicated but easy to leave at home when I know I'm going to be only using stoves. But I definitely would have rather spent what this one costs!
I really like the Snow Peak as well. I wish it was just a tiny bit bigger. Thanks for commenting
Looks intriguing never heard of that one!
I think I spend too much time on eBay finding stuff😅. Thanks for commenting
Ah, Nova Scotia... Either it's drenched for weeks straight, or you have a fire ban. Interesting to see how this pot works out!
Yup...rain. Now it is dry and windy and warm...will be a fire ban again tomorrow...Climate change...aarrh. Thanks for commenting Aaron
Nice Pot.. I might have to look in to these! the spot filter would be great for filtering needles from pine needle tea. THanks for sharing!
It would definitely filter the needles out but it will pour very slowly as is. Still nice pot for the money. Thanks for commenting
Wow that's a nice pot at a budget friendly price👌👍
Very nice for the money even with the couple of downsides. Thanks for commenting Laurent
Ty for the review Good to know sounds like it’s a winner alway looking for cheaper but still good items
You are welcome. It promises to be a winner but only time will tell. Thanks for commenting
Looks like a great value. Nicely done on the Vid too.
Thank you for your kind words. You won't be disappointed with this pot if you buy it
17 dollars not bad. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely has a place in my kit. Bit expensive in Canada yet but I am sure the price will come down. Thanks for commenting
nice piece of gear.
It is turning out pretty good bit only time will tell. Thanks Dave
Love the concept. I would like to see a little bigger one. I also have concerns about the welds and stuff. Durability would probably be an issue.
I have a Solo 1800ml pot and a Zebra 16cm pot that fills the larger niche...I will be testing for long term durability as well..hard to endorse a pot that has not even been in a fire...But it will be and after time I will report back. Thanks for commenting

Looks like a good pot. It may not hold up if you are trying to beat some sense into an attacking bear, but it should do OK for everyday. Why would you abuse a pot anyway? or anything else you own.? I will be watching for the wood stove test, but I think it will be fine.. Thank you for the video, Mark.
Could always use it to through hot water in the bears face😬...in truth, I need to put in a number of fires before giving it a good endorsement. Thanks for commenting
Very nice, thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for commenting
You sold me, a little hard to find but I did, it’s on the way.
I am sure you will like it. I am still testing mine with the modifications I made and find it is working well for me. Thanks for commenting
Sounds like a nice piece of gear... But I want to hear ur comments after using it for awhile.
I agree...can't endorse it when it hasn't even been in the fire yet...I will report back after considerable use. Thanks for commenting
hi, thanks for your review. the kettle is great, i´ve also drilled bigger holes for a quicker flow of water as well.
what about covering lid handle and kettle handles with silicon tubes? or something better? thanks!
Glad you enjoyed the video. I think covering the lid and butterfly handles with silicone would be great if you are using it on a stove but I would think they would burn off over a fire. Thanks for commenting
Hi Mark - just got my Camelwil pot in the mail and it certainly is a nice piece. I was wondering if you have made any modifications to it yet? The fold-out handles are a little loose for my liking and I'd love to know if you solved the issue somehow. Also, the strainer holes ... any improvement to those? Drilled them out yet? Thanks for any guidance.
Hi Paul. Yes I have made s few mods to my pot that have helped. For the loose handles, I gently tapped the plate that covers them with a hammer. It flattened the plate out some and tightened their grip. For the pour spout I enlarged as many of the holes as I could reach with my drill. It took a few progressively larger drill bit to get to a reasonable size to improve the flow. I may yet just cut out the area with a dremel tool but for now it is working much better. Hope this helps
Great find Mark! Do you know if the solo stove fits inside nicely? Thanks for the review and hope you can have fires again soon 😊
Yes, I should have mentioned that. The Solo Lite stove fits in very well with a little bit more room than it has in the Solo 900 pot. We just had a good period of rain so that is helpful. Thanks for commenting
Great introduction Mark, this pot really looks to have a good mix of features. I went to an eBay site and found the following info that probably lost a good deal in translation "How to keep: After cleaning must be stored in the sun, do not leave the water in the pot, or easy to rust or moldy.", any sign of rust so far?
Also, if the lid fit is 'minimally loose', might a few judiciously applied dimples to either pot or lid snug things up to a desireable light friction fit?
I am still testing the pot but so far, it is working out well. There are no signs of rust or other issues. I personally am not bothered by the slightly loose lid but I am sure it could be tightened as you suggest. I did tap the handle hinges to tighten them up and drilled out the spot holes to make it easier to pour from. I hope to have a follow up video by this fall. Thanks for commenting
I'm looking at getting one of these Mark, but I don't think it's quite tall enough to nest my GSI Infinity mug. Could I bother you to tell me the tallest item that would fit inside with the lid in place?
I also have the Infinity mug so I checked and you are correct. The mug is too tall to fit inside the pot correctly. I measured the maximum height for anything you would like to have fit snugly at 4 5/16". Hope this helps and thanks for commenting
Thanks Mark, so close. Missed it by < 1/4"...very disappointing. :-( A sub for your help.
Thanks for spending my money. ;)
It looks almost perfect. I wonder if my Svea123r will fit inside it?
I have a Svea 123r and it is slightly too tall for the pot. If you invert the pot lid it will meet but you would need a stuff sack to keep everything together. It does not fit with the aluminum cup. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft I found a newer version of this pot that will fit my SVEA123R! It’s very similar to the camelwil, but adds a lid/cup that gives more room for the svea’s added height. I got one last week and quite like it, but the bail is spot welded on, and the handles could separate and be pulled off. The stuff sack is actually usable! Lol.

@@ronkierstead Hi Ron. I looked at through the link your sent. Very interesting. I had seen it before and passed it by but will consider it again. Thanks for sharing the link
Just orderd one under the name GOOTOO, the same kettle from Amazon !Barbro Sweden
I saw it under that name as well. I am sure it is like many things made in China in that they are branded under a lot of different names. Hope you enjoy it when it arrives. Thanks for commenting
Is the stainless steel sturdy enough for dry baking? And is the recessed lid sturdy enough to add coals or charcoal on top?
I have not used this kettle for baking but it appears to be as strong or stronger than some of the others I have used. Still, I would recommend keeping it from getting too hot as it may warp a bit. The recessed lid ends up making the kettle a bit more shallow than others. The challenge as I see it will be to close off the pour spout to prevent heat loss. Hope this helps. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft Thank you
If you made the holes bigger and put a wire screen in like in a coffee press. It would work grate for coffee and tea.
Great idea. I have drilled out the holes I could reach with my drill and may take your suggestion on the screen. Thanks for commenting
👍👍🇧🇷 Parabéns Ótimo
Muito obrigado
Mark, With the recessed lid, could you put coals on top and bake in it? -Mike
Great minds think alike. I will likely give that a try after I use it a bit in the fire to see how it will stand up. Thanks for commenting Mike
Curious about the baking and whether it works with an open spout releasing some of the heat.
I have a wood stove for SHTF do you think this would hold up just to keep water on it so your tents air doesn't get all dried out?
Kind of a small pot for keeping on a stove for long periods of time. I would be concerned about it running dry in the middle of the night. If all you want is a pot for adding humidity I would look for a cheap second hand kettle at a thrift store. Hope this helps
Thanks, I will consider it!
Let me know if you buy one and how you like it. Thanks for commenting
$46 and free shipping included not much of a deal 4 years after him making this video they went from 17 to $46 if I'm not mistaken
Wow. That is crazy. I will be comparing it against my new Fire Maple billy soon. Thanks for commenting
A year later, and the final thoughts are.......?
Yup...try this ua-cam.com/video/BxPEQttSmvw/v-deo.html
Ok Mark, I'm starting to think your addicted to Ebay. LOL
maybe just a little bit😅...actually, I am addicted to finding good buys..thanks for commenting

Glad you enjoyed. Thank you for commenting
Pro's: It has a great design.
Cons: Its from China and I'm leary of their metals. One stainless steel set i ordered wore the stainless steel coating off with one test boil using vinegar/water.
It promises to be a good design even with its two shortcomings. I agree buying from China can be a gamble. In truth, most of the stuff we use is made in China so some of it can be good quality. With this only time will tell. Thanks for commenting
I like it, and cant beat the price. Nice video Mark
Looks like a great deal but only the test of time will tell for sure. Thanks for commenting
Grabbed one for $10.62 using a 15% off code EBAY had up today. Thanks for the review!
Great price. You won't be disappointed with the pot. I am still testing mine out with the modifications I made and it is working great for me. Thanks for commenting
