BeBe could’ve coasted through the Hollywood industry on her looks. But she mostly kept the bun, and we were forced to focus on her acting prowess. Her role on Cheers provided her with arguably the best actor’s reel to showcase that vast range of looks and acting.
@naas699 especially the scene where she and Sam are at the Cape after the bachelor auction and she's trying to seduce him to get back at Fraiser for the prenup. You can kind of tell she's thisclose to busting out laughing during it.
@@mse9609 Well Fraiser shows them as very good friends after so many years. The realized they weren’t compatible but they did a great job raising Frederick even though they were far apart. The later season episodes touched on their friendship growing out of being joint parents.
In the 80s, almost everyone had a video tape machine. Bars had them to show sports highlight film and the like...10-30 ESPN channels weren't around then.
I remember watching this episode during its first showing, and it was very, very obvious that they'd captured lightning in a bottle with Frasier and Lilith. There's an interview with Bebe Neuwirth where she basically said that she was surprised to be offered a regular role; I think that she was the ONLY one surprised :)
I was only a kid when my parents would watch this show, thought it was funny then. as an adult it's leagues funnier as I understand a great number of things I had no idea about LOL.

Writing was great but you have to have incredible acting as well. Bebe and Kelsey are outstanding actors. Incredible scene!

Yep, nothing appealing about a stern and matronly woman with a sense of humor and a smoking bod. Clearly, she had to get by on acting chops.
