📖 Mario Builder 64 is a FREE, 3D Super Mario Maker like level creator letting you fulfill all of your SM64 dreams. Play one of the numerous user-made levels, or create a course pushing your imagination to its limits! If building isn't your thing you can play other people's 3D Super Mario Bros. levels.
The 3D level editor is easy to pick up, but offers a lot of depths to advanced users with over 100 parts to make you own Mario levels. The levels are endlessly customizable, with a vast selection of music, a theme editor, and an expanded interaction system.

@@SylkaChan You can use the assets from the hub to make a level, but there are no door actors yet. Imagine being able to make a level where you can set a star requirement on a door in the level? Like, you have to get all the stars to open a door that leads to some kind of ending, whether fighting a boss, some super troll-y death thing (you know some people would do that), or some manner of message (because this project has to move beyond a handful of generic messages for signs/NPCs - hopefully custom messages at some point).
Now to wait for the "world map" (lobby) maker, about to make a whole rom hack (don't think the creator is gonna do that maybe, even if it's possible, fun thought tho)

Glad to see this getting plenty of attention, and not a bad effort for 2 hours with minimal time for playtesting! For anyone who hasn't seen MB64 before you can also change the level theme, change the individual tile textures, the music and all sorts of other cool stuff is possible!
They better add the penguins and the eel in an update.

Even though your level has two issues I love it! It would be cool to see more of your creations. They should come out with a 3D Mario Maker. This will have to do for now.

This project is actually incredible, designing your own levels looks actually easy, it’s almost like as if nintendo created their own toolkit to design those levels ,but i don’t think they had such luxury tool.
Sure they will had tools to design those characters and objects but nothing else.
But either way, it would be sooo cool if nintendo will come with their official sm64 maker toolkit for the switch to courage players making their own levels and share them with each other😁
Im glad that the creator released this to the public, unlike other mario maker type game creators.
I started my watching of UA-cam videos to fall asleep at night by watching a French Minecraft youtuber build a Zoo in Minecraft!
This takes me back and I'd LOVE to see more!

absolutely love a 3D game editor (like portal 2, hat in time or Void maker)
Nice to see we finally have one for Mario 64
And so far it appears to be more user friendly with how the placement of the blocks works
I was able to easily do pretty much everything I tried. They really did a great job of keeping this user friendly and easy to understand.
There’s cheese to be had at the part where you press the switch and have to race to the top before it runs out. You could jump from the bottom to one of the gaps and take it as a shortcut
There's a secret Minecraft mode in Mario builder 64 so first you need to go to the Level editor Second you need to go to settings lastly you should press this cheat code UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT BA START and you should hear a sound which means you did it and when you go to settings you should be in the environment bar and that's all :)

I love seeing the changes of how people build levels when a new builder game comes out. Seeing how people's tastes change, what's considered "good elements" vs "bad elements" in the game and how those change. The discovery is fun!

This is a really nicely made level Darby, especially for doing all this in 2 hours! Sure, there's a few odd things here and there, but finding those is what makes the testing fun.
This is something that Nintendo really should consider making for Switch 2, it'd be pretty fun to build these kind of levels on a console. Though I'm not opposed to a SMM3 that adds in stuff that's still missing in SMM2. The creators of this did a fantastic job with this though!

I had a feeling that you were going to play this, I watched Bathaniel Nandy play this earlier today. And it looks like you're playing some of the same levels that he did in his video. This may be due to there not being that many levels as of yet, though.
BN also looked at the level creator, he couldn't really figure it out so he just moved on to playing some of the levels instead.
All I did was make a level because I figured everyone was covering the same levels. So I thought this might be more interesting for some people :D

Very good first level! I've been racking my brain thinking of what I want to do, so many possibilities, yet racing koopa the quick as he climbs through the window was not one I ever would have thought about. I picked a spooky level look and theme so I got that part done

This is really cool! I do see a soft lock possibility: when you got the red coin on top of the castle where king Bob-omb is, is it possible for you to fall down into the castle and fight him *before* you hit the switch to gain access through the red blocks? If so, it may be possible that people go in, kill the king, then not be able to get back out, since the blocks would still be there.
Maybe put a cannon in the middle of King Bob-omb's room - so you can always get out, but it adds a slight challenge as you try not to fall into it during the fight.

edit: in the boss fight you could add goombas to make it harder.

The only thing this is missing is probably being able to walk through the frames and or pictures to get to a level! Also I think each level should have 100 coins and then you get an extra life for it! I don't know if enemies having coins is extra coins or is within the 100 coins?

Works on Emulators (Obviously)
Saves your World (If you have a SD Card or Game Saver)
Cons-
A bit buggy
Doesn’t have Baby Penguin or Monke to pick up and throw in lava
That’s all I know so far.
If you make the Star above a permanent platform, but still too high to be reached without the timed platforms, not only you don't have to worry about Mario falling and getting hurt, but it also give you more leeway with the timer!

Ive said for years that I wish Nintendo would make a Super Mario 3D Maker based on Super Mario 64, Galaxy, and Sunshine.
Everyone Ive told it to said Nintendo's software wouldnt be able to handle the space needed to make such a game.
Adding those multiple modes in the game would be epic. A Mario Sunshine Theme, Galaxy, and Mario 64 theme. Keep the textures, characters, properties, items etc that each corresponding game has.
If Nintendo wasnt so strict about their copyright policies, I would attempt to do that. I predict something like that will be done in the future. My ideaa. 🥺👉👈
If you think about it. It would be really funny if they released mario maker 3. The coincidence that it would be "3" and be named "3D" would be crazy.

We cannot provide any z64 files not even from anyone as this may get us banned no matter from who you get it from
But once you get the right z64 file you will be able to patch any rom with it
