Thanks for a great review of a very cute, peppy, huggable little car that's a good value for daily running around, local excursions and even longer trips with some planning. Love it !! 🥰
Thanks for watching! Yes the top spec model which adds another $5K CAD to the base does come with full suite of ADAS, nicer interior and other goodies!
Thanks for watching. I made no mention of a heat pump as it does not come with one. Due to the very good efficiency already, and heated seats, I doubt the heater will impact battery use that heavily, if even noticeable. I put on the AC a few times and it made no impact to range estimates.
Meanwhile the BYD Dolphin that we put a 100% tariff on sells for $14k Canadian in China and Europe. Its bigger, has more range, and actually has a usable back seat with four doors. Tell me it won't easily sell for $30k Canadian even WITH the tariff, considering this is its competition?
Thanks for watching! I agree with you. However, I also care about the North American auto sector, which provides such a huge economical and stability benefit to Canada, the U.S. and Mexico OEMs, supply-chain organizations and workforces. So the threat of significantly less costly alternatives seriously impacting this marketplace is very real. It's this balance which at this time makes it hard to support no-Tarrifs/low-Tarrifs on Chinese-made EVs. Of course if you know me and follow me, you know that I want zev growth to happen as quick as possible. But not at the huge expense that could happen. So yes, we could get a $25K CAD 4-door hatchback EV with 300kms or more of range from across the pacific, however at this time the impact risk IMO is very high. Give it a bit more time, and I believe we will see this market open up and see stuff like consumer BYD offerings come here. I just can't say when.
The 500e is a good offering, I think it has style and ample storage, especially when one or both back seats are folded down. I'm a fan of the hatchback format because it surprises people how large the interior can be in a smaller overall package, more people should get into them. 40kwh is good enough, and with fast charging it is fully capable of road tripping. I do hope they come out with a 60kwh option. I wished they would try and sell these for a lower price, however. I think if they did more aggressively price it, this would be a major hit. Canada has a free trade agreement with the EU where this is made, so there aren't any import taxes to speak of. I think the pricing could have been far more aggressive! Still a great car, good review.

Super show buddy and I love the Fiat 500e and if you go to top of the line model and getting little bit more stuff on it..

You make no mention on the type of battery comes with this 500e. Does the base model or the higher trim La Prima come with a heat pump?

Looking to buy a 500e Arbarth here in Sydney. Shame you don't get those in the US.
Thanks for watching, love Sydney was there many years ago! Yes, you are getting many more options now down under than we are here in N.A.
I would buyed it back in 2021 but the MG ZS EV was bigger and cheaper
Thanks for watching! For sure, MG makes a great BEV and I agree with your choice!

Hello, sure my email is EVRevolutionShow@gmail.com!
Wow 39k? 😂 that’s expensive for such small vehicle with that minimum range.
Yes, but it is still the lowest priced EV in Canada at the moment.
