I love the aesthetic of a destroyed and overgrown but still portal 1 esque environment.

This is awesome! I recently got hyped for the idea of a core-hub era recreation and I find this! Awesome stuff, always wanted to see an alternate Portal 2 without all the retcons, a faithful continuation to the original Portal 1. Amnesia GLaDOS is such an adorable plot twist.

@GoTi4No well, aperture got a whole new make over since GLaDOS had to repair it after destruction. We also dont need the creepy isolation factor since we know who GLaDOS is now and what happened to all the scientists. Plus, there’s a new conflict, wheatley. If you want creepy so bad go down to the old aperture, with cave johnson and such. Or is that not enough

this is so eerie, it would be perfect for a horror version of portal 2
so glad valve went with the GLaDOS we got now, this would have freaked me out

No, CoreHub is old portal 2 prototype
Where GLaDOS after portal 1 got little bit destroyed.
As chell get out, we are new test subject wake up.
Before death, Glados make tapes so even if she is "sleeping" testing could continue.
After some tests (i mean portal 1 chambers but in plants and rusty pieces of other tests) we will find way to GLaDOS control room.
We will see fully destroyed AI with only head and some wire sticks holding her up on its place. GLaDOS tapes still here, and it is trying tell us to press button, what will reactivate her and after pressing it, we see this. But there will be active GLaDOS what has amnesia and to recover her mind or control we need to find cores. (Not these what have been destroyed, new cores)
I dont gonna say what cores and that its purpose, so skipping it.
After GLaDOS fully recovers, she will let us go and we will have a good ending with no final boss. (Or aren't we?)
Well, Valve is decided to delete that CoreHub idea because beta-testers dont want to help GLaDOS with her brain, bcz of words in portal 1 what she said.
I think, all like CoreHub because it is have old Portal 1 design, pretty interesting lore, good gameplay with broken complex and crazy FULLY CRAZY GLaDOS what talking about "cereal" ._.''' also becoming our friend.
