Yeah I was really annoyed by that banner. Why that big and the placement of it was such it covered the view of the ground where they were filming the footprints.
Totally daft editing. they should have it either at the top of the view out of the way of the main screen or at the very bottom of the view and half the height. just bad editing to cover up the thing your filmed by a banner that is not even needed after they 1st had it up! But back to the fossil foot prints, totally amazing to see.
They said they may not be able to save them because of the site being still used? But with some careful work they could cut the top thick layer the foot prints are in out as a thick stone slab say 3 times the thickness as the prints are maybe supported by resin on the top layer and slide it out and wrap up and send to the Lab to save the prints as a thick slab of rock. the Site owners would be paid for that and get some public fame too.

I think the quarry deserve a lot of credit for alerting the palaeontologists to the find and not destroy the tracks because they would be a nuisance to their business. The aerial shot of a person walking along the tracks, really made clear how large these animals were. It gave me a far better appreciation than even a skeleton in a museum. A very fascinating find and as was pointed out in the video, allows for a greater understanding of the dinosaurs.

Unfortunately few footprints can be preserved in situ. If they were left exposed they would be eroded naturally by wind and rain. Museums hardly have space for bones, let alone hundreds of tons of rock even with impressions. Best case is the quarry finds a private buyer who uses the prints to decorate their garden or something.

@@ayanokoji715 something created from nothing is what your side claims. An immaterial entity poofed everything into existence with a magic spell. The old book of Bronze Age and Iron Age fables doesn’t mention if it involved a flourish of god’s hand as well. And all these fairytales exist because the people didn’t know anything and were afraid to say: “I don’t know”. So they made up their own explanations.
And then science developed, knowledge improved, and the gaps in which to stuff a god became fewer and smaller. And scientists are not afraid to admit they don’t know yet, so they try to find out. And all the while a small group of ignorants desperately clings on to those ancient myths, denying science while using the technology that wouldn’t have existed if the entire population of this world had had their limited mindset.

This is fascinating. I became interested in dinosaurs in 2nd grade. In 1963 my junior high Earth Science teacher was invited by a landowner in Socorro, New Mexico to examine the underside of a rock slab that was leaning against a cliff face. He said it looked like a dinosaur dance floor. My teacher was able to bring back several natural sand stone castings of 3-toed footprints found on the same piece of land and mount them on the patio outside of our classroom in Los Alamos.

"The discovery of an ancient dinosaur footprint site in the UK is a profound reminder of Earth's rich and intricate history. As we marvel at these remnants of a prehistoric era, let us reflect on the delicate balance of our planet and the responsibility we bear to preserve it for future generations. Just as these footprints have endured through time, so must our commitment to the stewardship of our natural world stand firm. Together, we can honor the past while safeguarding the legacy of life for centuries to come."
