We got our Scamp 13 with a bathroom in January 2021. We camped all around southern Alberta from prairie to forested mountains and with three corgis! It was snug but cozy - we had so much fun! We’ll be out Scamping again in a few weeks. Another reason to like a Scamp 13 - we added a gate to our backyard fence and our Scamp tucks neatly and securely into our backyard - no storage fees! Hey, we even get a nice quiet place to camp in our own backyard….
Love our 22 16 foot deluxe. Every other trailer made by Thor and forest river looked like crap for quality. We still have a 95 viking tent trailer that was too hard to set up anymore at my age !! Nice to pull into a campsite now and just open door and we’re set. !!!
You two are too cute! We were looking at the Scamps, but decided to go with a Casita. We will be retired next year, so we wanted something a little bigger with the twin beds. Enjoy your cute trailer and safe travels.
I have a UHaul fiberglass camper. Not a Scamp, but similar. And much older. I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about fiberglass campers.
@@weshouldcreatelightsabers8978 Great questions. We got ours almost 12 months to the day after reserving. If we'd known we could cancel and get our deposit back, we'd have reserved sooner, but oh well, we have it now. They don't offer financing. You have to bring a cashier's check for the full amount. So you either need to get a loan from your bank, or other means. We just used some of the equity in our house and refinanced.
Great video. I recently bought a 2012 13' Layout 1 in excellent condition, my first camper, and am getting ready to take her out with our 2 big dogs. BTW, I love the Keep It Simple sweatshirt!!
Hi, Love your scamp videos. I am in the process of ordering a scamp 13 footer. Since it is impractical to visit Scamp factory for me, I have been watching a lot of scamp videos on UA-cam specially the videos about the newer scamps. Overall, it seemed people are really positive about the little trailer. However, I have seen some who reported various issues about their new trailers. Have you experienced any quality or design issues with your scamp. I am specially worrying about the new door design and whether the reported sagging door is just one off or it is wide spread and caused by design issue. Thanks for you time.
We've had zero issues with the new door. It's my understanding that the new door eliminates the problems with poor seal over time that happens with the old curved doors as they straighten out over time. The only issues we've had is having to tighten some screws which I'm sure is a constant thing with the bump bump bump of driving with a anything in tow. We love our little Scamp and have no regrets at all!
I hear it's back to about a year. A lot of people put their name on the list (the deposit is totally refundable if you change your mind) and look for used while on the waiting list. Then they buy what ever comes first.
Soooo many scammers on Marketplace! I report several per month. There are facebook Scamp groups, and people selling often post there if you're looking.
I grew up in an Ecco, basically the same type (almost exactly) as your Scamp. The only thing about the Ecco was it had a very complex electrical system. Love the Boler style!
These are made in Minnesota and I live in Minnesota so I want to live them but I cannot understand why they STILL use exposed plywood floors! That’s crazy! Casita is fiber glass under belly
The problem with the Casita is the floor can breathe and an undetected leak is a disaster. There is a reason the Airstreams have plywood floors as well.

That is another great reason! Ours fits nicely in behind our garage for free storage too!
I like the Scamps too. But we are retired and can’t afford it so we watch UA-cam and see others enjoying them. 😊 thanks
our pleasure! We did the same until we got ours. I also watch the heck out of RV Miles.
Great video. Clear and concise, no shtick. Cheers.
Thank you!

That is such a great part! Especially if it's raining!

Enjoy your retirement!!
Always glad to find a fellow Scamp 13' owner. Enjoyed the video and I subscribed. Happy travels!
Thanks so much!

What year is your UHaul camper?!
@@scampwanderlust It's a 1984 CT13.
Do you have a picture of video of it somewhere? I'd love to see how it compares in style etc.
Wow congratulations you two!! Keep us updated on all the adventures!!
-Uncle Josh the RV Nerd
will do! Keep an eye out for that Christmas card! lol
good stuff guys. And the outtakes are hilarious!
lol, thanks!
Thanks for the insight, it helped with our decision to get a Scamp!
Let us know when you get it! You're going to love it!
Thanks. Great video. I also bought a 2021 13 FT. Best small travel trailer.
we love it!
How long did it take you to get yours ? And do they offer financing ?

Good info.
Just ordered one and maximum one year in fall of 2022. Just expanded their facility and said it might be a couple months faster.
You're going to love it!
those are such nice solid campers.
They really are. They come with just enough bells and whistles for me.
Thanks for the info.
Our pleasure!

2 big dogs aught to keep you nice and warm!
You can buy a much larger Scamp!
yep a 16 or a 19. This on was just right for us though.

Yeah.... shout out to all those 6 Cyl Hyundai Santa Fe owners out there.
It's my 2nd one! My first one I took over 200,000 miles and was still running strong when I traded it in.
2 year waiting list????? Guess I better start looking for a decent used Scamp. Even if I need to put money into it to bring it up to speed.

@@scampwanderlust That would be great if it did change to a year or less.
They should have called it KISS Kamper l0l (Keep it Simple Stupid)
I'm a big fan of KISS theory of life!
has your door stated to leak yet -#11
Not yet, and shouldn't be an issue with the new design. Fingers are crossed.
To each his/her own. Scamp’s are great but you are totally limited to camping in parking lots, woohoo!
Not at all. We're planning lots of boon docking, off grid camping.
These things are SO cute! That said: every time we see one on Marketplace it seems to be scammers :(
Soooo many scammers on Marketplace! I report several per month. There are facebook Scamp groups, and people selling often post there if you're looking.
Thank You #11 Some places require hard side campers because of bears, no pop up campers.
that's a great one!

I'll have to google those!
love the re-dos... Thanks for sharing.
lol. They were fun to add!

When ordering one, I'm going to ask about. I have to wait 2 years rd s though.
I have no idea. If you find out, let us know.
