Hi my question is the green sparkel thick thread you were stitching on the bottom of the fabric next to the light blue color thread (video time 1:32) what is it called when purchasing it , cause you showed different ones and the sparkel colors are the ones I want to use and also what brand thread company (like DMC) name does it come . I tried looking up the thread but the thick kind you use (8 weight ) I need to know the brand name to see where to purchase this.. I would like to use it with my children who like to cross stitch and have used the other threads but not the 8 weight kind.🪡🧵

Yes, absolutely. You may want to consider using an 8wt cotton thread if you're going to be using it on a hand towel, with the assumption that the towel will be going in the laundry more frequently. Rayon threads tend to weaken when exposed to water, so over time your design could become frayed with frequent washing.

What needles do you suggest when working with 8 wt threads for hand and machine work?

For hand work, you can use a #1 milliners, #24 chenille, or #1 long darner. For machine work, it would depend on what thread you're using in the top. For instance, if you're using a standard medium weight 50wt thread, you could use a 80/12 or 90/14 size needle. If you're using a super fine thread like 80wt or 100wt, you might use an 80/12 or 70/10 size needle. 8wt thread will be too thick to go through the machine needle so you'll have to use it for bobbin work or couching as shown in the video!
