Introduction to the Scrimshaw Knife Kit at 3Rivers Archery

Hello @3RiversArchery! I've been following the directions on the knife kit, but every time I apply the India ink to the etching and then apply a damp paper towel, all of the ink lifts. I keep deepening the etching, but nothing fixes this problem. What am I doing wrong?

I'm afraid I haven't done it enough to be super experienced with it. I would suggest letting the ink sit a little longer before patting with the paper towel. Maybe not too damp either so it doesn't suck all of the ink up.
