im currently a junior in high school, fiu is my dream school and i’m an out-of-state student. your video is literally so helpful i want to thank you so much!! is there any specific advice or tips you could give on an out-of-state student? you went so much into detail this whole video was so good!!
Put ourselve out there!! I literally can’t stress it enough, college can be very isolating especially as someone who is out of state, but the people at FIU are really kind so take advantage of that!!
I’m transferring there from NYC now to start this fall and I’m so excited! My school in nyc is a little boring so I’m very excited haha hope to get to see you there
hi! just got accepted and thinking about coming this fall!! Questions tho: 1. is the greek life very prevelant and do the sororities have their own houses? 2. is the food good LMAO 3. are there lots of alumni connections and good connections so you can get a job right away after you graduate? 4. do people go to the beach often on weekends? 5/ not a question but you are so pretty!!
Hey! I loved your video so much ❤️ So grateful to have found you on youtube. So we have veryyy similar stats my SAT score was an 1100 and my gpa was around 3.8.... so I applied for fall but I got deferred and I decided to apply for Spring 2021 because it doesn’t seem like a bad idea and I’m IN LOVE with FIU. When did they get back to you about your Spring 2020 decision?
Hi!!! Glad you liked the vid! At the time I was deferred FIU paired me with an advisor to answer my questions. I told him before I graduated high school that I was going to start in the Spring instead and he changed my status for me. I would def recommend to call FIU and make sure they know you want to start later! Hope this helps :)
Corey Madison I did! I found this great advisor I’d been speaking with and she changed the status for me about three weeks ago so I was just wondering how long it took for FIU to actually get back to you about the Spring term because I’m getting a little nervous/ anxious 😅 Thank you tho
I love your vibes!!!! i'm gonna be an fiu freshman soon and wanted to know some more personal info that wasn't from the uni itself, if you know anything about the Honors College can you make a video on it? Im going to be an Honors College student but so far haven't seen any videos of what it actually is like and want some tips :) keep up the good work, you've got a new sub!
Your video was very helpful with me deciding whether I want to attend FIU or UCF. But I have a few questions though. How is FIU hospitality and tourism department? Does FIU have study abroad there? With FIU being Miami is it really distracting to focus on your studies?
Yes, they have a few study abroad programs and even though it’s in Miami, I wouldn’t say it’s distracting unless you make it distracting. Just find time to do your work and have fun as well :)
Hii! I’m starting online fiu classes in the summer and then I’m moving in the fall, did you have to move out because of covid? Also you’re really pretty
I didn't live in the dorms my freshman year (unfortunately). However my friends absolutely loved it! Some rules of thumb for on campus living: 1. Don't date anyone on the same floor as you. 2. Always respect your roommates space and rules. 3. Do you best to make your dorm a safe space! (decorate) As for the dorm halls they are all really nice! I haven't heard any major complaints (ie. fast internet, no bugs, no sewage or electricity issues). also great parties in all the dorm halls and fun RA events to.
I know that only virtual tours of the campus are being offered at the moment, but can I drive through the campus without a tour and will I be able to walk around the campus if not a part of an official tour. Do I have to show proof that i'm a student or not? Thanks. TGS
FIU is my dream school and i’m about to be a senior but i’m really scared and just worried about the application process and just everything that goes along with college because this is all fairly new to me and my gpa isn’t amazing but it’s not too bad so i just need advice and just help i know this is messy i’m sorry lmao
Hi, I’m a freshman there and I’m kinda nervous too ngl but the application process is really easy and you do have your senior year to bring up your gpa. Mine wasn’t all that when I applied but I somehow got in
first, this was a nice video, it isnt rambling it isnt skipping details, and helpful im a black low income, large family, homeschooled student going into my sophmore year of highschool and i originally wanted to get my ged since we moved abroad and i couldnt/ cant attend public school. i moved to east africa now im in mexico. but i feel bad about doing that and feeling like it will look bad even though once i go to community college no one will care. i have several homeschool sites for free curriculum Kahn Academy, EasyPeasy, and saylor academy. i was wondering have you heard of it. its free accredited college courses and they even have a college credit program with morgan state and fiu. some other known/lesser known colleges. so now if i dont get my ged, i save my mom $200 and continue to take college classes in high school. i dont have extracurriculars outside of programming, doing hair, learning languages and the guitar. but i do have a few passion projects and i have a goal to be in many careers. right now going for computer science and hoping to double major in business or nursing as well. i would be coming from texas.
i mean... in this part of fl every conversation is 50% spanish but you'll get by if you're talking to young people! I know some latinos that don't know spanish and although it can be incredibly difficult talking with some people, its not the worst thing in the world. I recommend putting in an effort and learning the language either way :)

Unfortunately I don’t know much about the honors college :( but if you’d like I can ask some of my friends and see if they have any info for you!

girl same! Congratsss
Sameeeeee
I just got admitted into the summer term and I love your videos! How would you describe your dorm life and like whatever hall you're in
I didn't live in the dorms my freshman year (unfortunately). However my friends absolutely loved it! Some rules of thumb for on campus living:

I LOOOOVVEEEE YOUR ENERGY😂😂😂 Really enjoyed this video. I’m trying to join for next fall or summer b and you were very helpful😌
Hey! I’m an international student. How do you calculate your GPA? Is it For the last 4 years?
I applied for Master in Logistics Engineering, fingers cross. I pray I get in.... But I'm out a state 🇯🇲.
so if you have a high sat score will you be able to start in the fall or does fiu only start in summer and spring?
Usually if you have a low SAT score, you’d start in the summer. Other times, you would be admitted for fall unless you applied for the spring term
Great video!!! FIU sounds funnnn, I wanna come visit!! Lol
I know that only virtual tours of the campus are being offered at the moment, but can I drive through the campus without a tour and will I be able to walk around the campus if not a part of an official tour. Do I have to show proof that i'm a student or not? Thanks. TGS
