The real magic of the Basilisk is the incredible number of truly useful features and yet it looks super clean and tidy when it's on. So many of the "ADV style" jackets look like they came out of a Transformer movie. It's got everything you need and nothing that you don't. The layering concept is where it's at. F.U. Basilisk FTW!
Here we go. I am sold.🤝 And a new hard shell is exactly what I am currently looking for after rocking one from Haglöfs for 6 or 7 years or so and it just started to show it’s age and fall apart. Love great design quality gear.
could you elaborate on how often the jacket should be washed? i will be on a 5 year rtw camping mainly so everyday exposure. as far as i understood the eVent membrane, it will leak water when dirty from oils mainly. i used goretex for over 10 years and never head an issue being wet from the rain. i would like to switch to your product because i believe in your construction. i am also happy to see the incorperation of the layering armor since thats what we will use on the rtw. the missing flap and gutters for the zip is what held me back on the predecessor so thank you for the update.
Hey, Dakarracer89. It sounds like you have an epic trip coming up! EVent works under the same principles as other waterproof membranes. I would wash EVent the same way you have washed previous jackets, and if you find yourself in a city, you may use a liquid-free rinsing soap or gentle detergent. Avoid detergents that contain fabric softeners, fragrances, whiteners, or colorants. If you're using a washer, choose a delicate setting, and always hang dry!
Having always worn jackets with armor built in, is my understanding correct that I would wear separate armor? I'm not saying that is a bad thing, just trying to understand how this works. Thanks.
Hey Austinman - You're correct! Our apparel has been designed with wearing separate armor in mind. That way, you can get armor that better fits your body and since it's closer to your body, it'll be in place if you need it. Additionally, if it's hot outside or you don't need the weather/abrasion protection you can remove the jacket to ride in jersey and armor.
Typically, riders wear armor underneath the jacket when out riding. However, everyone has different risk tolerances, so you can wear whatever makes you comfortable underneath.
Can this thing accomodate a slim hydration backpack underneath? (wearing one over the vents makes no sense). I do dislike the lack of a liner, my fav hard shells have one and it's very useful in both moisture management and protecting the membrane.
Another item for my wish list 💷💷💷💷💷🙄🙄🙄 Maybe Mosko could initiate a periodic customer “lottery” for top some top spec/priced products for folks who, well, just can’t currently find the readies for the items at the top of their wish list! 🤪😂🙄😉🤷♂️
Why no included HOOD? Especially surprised at this omission given Mosko’s preference for design features that are similar to high end alpine climbing apparel. Will your next generation perhaps incorporate a hood addition? I did a 3 week trip to Canadian Maritimes earlier this year and it rained every day, a hat worked but a hood would have been much better. If designed properly it needn’t compromise the on moto experience when it’s rolled or stowed away in the collar.
Thanks for the feedback! We'll pass this on to our Design Department. We're not against adding a hood to the Basilisk, but it's not something anyone has asked for before. We'll definitely talk about it in the next design meeting!
im honestly trying to rationalize and visualise a hood when you will be wearing a helmet plus a hood just adds extra weight to your neckline and makes your neck area bulky supporting a helmet and then a hood + the flapping in the wind

We believe the jacket that accomplishes its mission with the least features is best. Stoked you feel the same! Thanks for your support and feedback. 🙏
i agree with you...
Amazing jacket evolved! And we love the new design and color! Great job!!
Thank you! Always appreciate your feedback!

Thanks for your interest and support, Ivan! A quality hard shell is key!

Will you be getting more of the red and dry earth colors in larger sizes soon?
Hey Kent! We won't be restocking the Basilisk until end of November 2023, which is also when we'll be releasing new color ways.
Do riders where armor underneath it all the time, or do they just throw it on and go without armor underneath?
Typically, riders wear armor underneath the jacket when out riding. However, everyone has different risk tolerances, so you can wear whatever makes you comfortable underneath.
Can we get a tan and black instead of tan / orange please … or a green/black or green/tan/black … yellow and orange no bueno
Second that. More color options would be great!
Thanks for your feedback! We're getting ready to launch our new apparel colors later this Fall or early Winter!

You could wear a slim hydration bladder underneath if you have the jacket large enough for there to be space.

That's a great idea, Brandon! Basilisk giveaway coming up - stay tuned. 😃

@@81722Les is hood is only the advantageous when you are off the bike with no helmet and camping.
Maybe a little too good? No stock on the web site!
We're getting our resupply of Basilisk Jackets in June!
@@MoskoMoto Thank you for the kind reply. Unfortunately going away early May, I’ll have to be patient!
