@@ConCon in the argosy you can let your trading buddy "bargain" for more items. The higher level your buddy has the better bargains you v can use. The first bargain will require a level 5 buddy and I think costs 100 points.
that's good an everything but there is one thing i want to know are the palicoes and palamutes good enough for ALL ranks? because if i ever play this game,i want to avoid multiplayer as much as possible,people are so bad behave online
You can solo everything if you want to. Multiplayer is good with friends but finding good random players might be harder. But at high rank the players will be better anyway because it's not easy to get there

Ppl are usually doing their own thing and the only bad or annoying thing that could happen is when ppl die a lot and the quest fails. But yeah the buddys also level up and you can upgrade their armor and weapons so they get stronger with you.
Ok I'm kind of an idiot. After the buddies are done training how do you swap them out? I keep trying to swap my first buddies back and it keeps telling me "Currently active Buddies can't be selected."
As far as I understand you have a buddy that is currently training in the dojo and you want to swap him out? If you go to the doho cat on the buddy island you can choose the option select buddy's or smt like that where you choose which buddy should be trained. There you can unselect your buddy and then he is available for whatever else you need him for. I hope this is what you meant.
You have to go to the buddy expert, press "select Buddies" the ones you can select are the ones currently training, so select them to take them out of training at the dojo
Gathering type only shines if you take it with you on a quest. It has the pilfer ability unlocked at level 20 where it can throw a boomerang at a monster and collect extra monster materials for you to get after the fight
my buddy stopped gaining xp at lvl 20?? wtf is going on? 6:03 you said 35,. did they nerf it? I'm rank 5 in the story mode or do I have to more or play online?
No they didn't nerf it. Have you played any HUB quests yet? I think by the time you unlock the high rank stuff at star 4 you should have your buddy level cap raised. The "story" mode is the easy ones from Hinoa outside. The harder quests come in High rank from Minoto inside the gathering hub. Also you don't have to play those online, it will scale for solo player if you play them alone. You will also unlock the S rank versions of all the armors from there too at high rank (4-7)

Late to the party here, but I have a question. Is there a way for buddies to play like a more "passive" role during hunts? I remember I hated when Large Monster focused Palicoes in MH4U/XX fucking up my chargeblade counters, in World I did notice monsters would often ignore them so Longsword counters were viable too, but I feel like they focus Palamutes too much, and not bringing them to hunts? well, mounting that goddamn dog is honestly very useful
They only affect the buddy that holds this skill. They are useful in some situations like when you fight a somnacath for example. If fall asleep and your buddy has sleep negated it won't fall asleep when getting hit with the cloud and can run to you to wake you up.
I must’ve used the Buddy Board to start and then forgot where it was. I’ve been searching the Buddy Plaza and the menus for the past 20 minutes trying to change my “equipped” buddies lol. Thank you so much for this video. Big Ups!

I know I'm a bit late on this, but I have a question and maybe someone can help me. I changed the buddy scout menu for cats and dogs because I wanted a specific look, but if I than hire one, they still look completly random. Am I missing something here?
There’s something I can’t figure out when I go on quest my palamute keeps using the jaw lookin weapon when I go on quest he won’t ever use the weapon I equip him with and I feel like he’s not doing a lot of damage with the jaw/teeth weapon is there a way I can get it to where he uses his weapon?
In singleplayer you can take any 2 buddies, so either a palico and a palamute OR you can take 2 Palamutes OR 2 Palicos. In Multiplayer you can only take one buddy, and that's the one at the top when you go to buddy select at your buddy board
Great video, I just started playing and this was very helpful! My only question is can you change your buddy's fur after you start the game? I'm only a few mins in and I already want to change my palamute fur color.
Go to select buddies, and select the ones that are currently training. They should have a special icon next to them, that will take them out the training dojo so you can use them or send them elsewhere
If you go to one of the buddy boards you can select the buddys that come with you on quests. It is the first option like shown right at the beginning of the video

They will join your list of buddies. Go to the buddy board to select them and change to the new ones that you got.

The Argosy best lvls for afarming are lvl 5 and 15 as they can get more itens with those boosts.

You can take them out of training and replace a new one there or leave it empty. For the meowcenaries you can recall them during their mission

Uhm not really sure, its not something I really noticed.
@@ConCon I realized changing Palamute gear (removing steel fangs) helped a little, thanks anyway

Yes there is, I just got the buddies the armor first. I like the one I was wearing in the video, Basarios armor.

I can't remember if you can dismiss them permanently but you can put others in their place. Some can start at higher levels through the buddy scout

You can't really do much about that. You can change their behaviour though at the buddy board

Change the palamute gear at the buddy board to equip something else (perhaps one of the scrolls)

Palamutes only joined in Monster Hunter Rise. Iceborn doesn't have any I believe

Afraid not from what I've seen. You can scout a new one though with the exact colours you are looking for.

Making yourself armour will make scraps to make buddy armour, talk to the guy right next to the smithy dude, to the left

No they do not. But it prevents them from sleeping so they can bump you to wake you up or move you away from danger
