In Steve Callahan's case where he was aboard the raft for 76 days, he said that because of the orange dye that was on the canopy he could not drink the water. Has this been fixed in newer models or is this an older model raft? I ask because it was mentioned there was a funnel on the canopy for collecting rain water.
I was surprised there were no glucose food tablets and there was not more water. If I was sailing a ship I would certainly keep handy a floatable bag with more water and provisions and a fishing kit and blunt tipped knife.
And I think nobody prevents you from doing that. What's wrong with this being the bare minimum? If they put more in it it would be heavier and still people would say they want more. You can always add stuff!

If you are a 3rdofficer would you be allowed to inspect the expiration date of emergency kit like flares etc.?
