You have a great studio space with plenty of room to grow. I always think that art schools try and make you change your style to theirs, so I think you did the right thing for you. I came across this quote recently: 'Like noses, everyone has an opinion'. Love your style of artwork and the book illustrations are gorgeous. Have a great week. 🙂

Ahhh thank you!! I did attend for like two weeks and I just felt that there was also so much 'fluff' (plus it was very expensive- more than my gallery)

What an awesome space you have to create! Organizing everything gets you started with a clean plate to create more! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻

Wow, 2 years only??? 🙌🙌🙌 I’ve done art since I was a child, for many years I went to weekly workshop where I tried many different mediums. As an adult i focused more on crafts and I also tried many MANY different types of crafts. However I never had enough confidence to pursue arts more deliberately and consistently because from my perspective I wasn’t good enough. Then in 2021 I did one oil painting a month just following Bob Ross tutorials. I was again super critical of my work but looking back 2 years later, I see how much I got better every month and the last few paintings were really good. I didn’t like washing oil paints though, so in 2022 I did different courses, tried watercolor painting again, in May I did one (not oil) painting a day (in a sketch book) just to find what style or medium I like best… now with a baby in my arms it’s harder to do find time and free hands but during his naps I finished a course on drawing on 21draw. Just like you, I want to do illustrations for a children’s book I wrote but I was never so goal oriented or so prolific as yourself. And I ALWAYS had my critical self to deal with and that’s the biggest challenge of them all. Regardless of other people’s praise, in my eyes I am never good enough. So my progress is tiny in comparison to yours. But you give me hope. Also all the professional artists I was learning from said that art has very little to do with talent and a lot to do with learning and practicing. So now i practice whenever I can, but with pencil. Because that’s the only medium I can use when I have a sleeping baby in a carrier. 😂

@@xeniadelsol this is so beautiful!! Never stop or give up, you never know when you’re going to to create a masterpiece. I remember right before I painted Nostalgia, which I believe is my best watercolour painting, I did a big self portrait and it was the worst painting I ever did, there were so many things wrong with it! But without that painting I would never have learnt the lessons I did and go on to create many more paintings 💗

Why do you pronounce your name ‘Chintel’ when it’s Chantal 😂
You’re doing amazing for such a young age … I think your studio needs new floor coverings … I know that’s expensive but all those manky marks all over the current one is yukky 😂
Loving your paintings for your book ❤
