      @@kathleen7849 awww thank you 🥹🫶 when cold emailing it’s really hard to get noticed, especially without a agent or degree and even if you do it’s difficult as well! Decided sharing my journey is the way to go, and then I can inspire others along the way 💗

    CHANTAL GIRL!! I’m truly obsessed with your talent, from the way you control the brush, to the realism of the subjects and backgrounds. You are extremely gifted. But you’re giving me high blood pressure when you put the water jar on top of the artwork, what if you tip it over by mistake??😭😭💀

    • @chantalleonhardt
      @chantalleonhardt  Місяць тому +1

      THANK YOU 🙏 I think I have blind confidence in my work and skills sometimes that if mistakes happen (like the water tipping over) I think I can fix that! Haha it hasn’t happened yet and hopefully won’t 😅

    You are great artist i home your books will known in all of the world. Children need to see beautiful books. they need to learn good and evil from real books. Created by people who put their heart into it, not artificial intelligence and patterns. Adults also read books with children, spend time together and want these moments to be beautiful. May your art reach all families enjoying the beauty of your work and your heart.

    You opened with my big fascination- how on earth do you control your washes on big areas on those massive watercolor sheets?!? I haven't seen you use large underwashes I'm definitely not a watercolor expert at all....ohhhh!!! You demonstrated just that!

    • @chantalleonhardt
      @chantalleonhardt  Місяць тому

      Ahhhh thank you ❤ the sky was one wash and done! Sometimes I think if I do another wash I’ll stuff it up so sometimes one wash is it! The ocean and sand had three washes! Also I did a yellow under wash for Adena’s dress 😊

    The painting is so beautiful!!! I love the texture of the sand. Just a little critique (if you want it, otherwise ignore). I think the fire and the person in the background lack a bit of perspective. It looks a bit like you are looking at the fire from on top of it, while Adina looks like we are standing in front of her. An easy fix could be making the stones of the fire that are closest to us much bigger. But please dont remake the page, it’s gorgeous, this is just for future reference!

    • @chantalleonhardt
      @chantalleonhardt  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you ❤ of course! I was aiming for the perspective of looking about 45-50 degrees down on the fire and Adena ( so Adena’s legs are actually shorter than usual and her torso longer) I think also putting more fine shadows between Adena’s feet and the rocks would work 🤔might come back to it later!

    Hi! Absolutely love your work. I wanted to see where you got the big sheets of watercolour paper from, but the link only shows smaller pads. I’m guessing it’s from a roll of Arches, but I’ve been unable to find a roll that wide anywhere in my local art shops or online. Can you give me the info on the measurements and cost of these rolls and where to get them please? Thanks so much. Love from a fellow Australian watercolour artist ❤

    • @chantalleonhardt
      @chantalleonhardt  Місяць тому

      @@Escherlife thank you 💓 of course!! This is arches 640gsm sheets 1050x1450cm, you have to buy a pack of five for around $700 I think 🤔 if you don’t paint portraits 300gsm rolls are cheaper and bigger ✨
