THANK YOU! That was exactly what I needed. Was trying to find an old plugin but it was buried and I was stumped. Found it, got rid of it, life is beautiful again.
Searched everywhere online, this is the only video that solved my problem, thank you!! Somehow FCP was confusing my Avid plugins with its own plugins and there seemed to be many instances of the same plugins throughout my system. I would delete them one place only to find them somewhere else. Followed every step you outlined to root out all of them, What a relief!
This was SO genuinely helpful. Comprehensive and well-communicated. I wen through each step of yours and was like "no, doesn't work. No, doesn't work" and then the final buried solution completely worked - saved me a huge headache. Thanks Jenn!
Hey Jenn! I don't always write comments, but I wanted to genuinely thank you. I had more than a hundred non-usable plugins from BCC+ that just got in my way and I didn't know how to remove them. So thankful for your efforts in this video!
Thanks Jenn very comprehensive and detailed it can be a real nightmare to remove drilled down plugins I got rid of a ton of obsolete ones hanging around
Thanks sister for the past three years I would always get a pop-up when I would launch FPX about a plug-in that did not work after this video that problem is now resolved thank you so much
THANK YOU THANK YOU! I'm literally here because I couldnt get rid of these Coremelt plugins. even after I ran their uninstaller, even after I used a cleaner app. You solved it!
Damn you’re good, thank you sooooooo much dear I got tricked by Boris effects posing as a pixel film studio trial which turned out to be Boris effect instead of pixel film studios that I swear by I had no idea of where to find and delete/uninstall all of the many generated unlicensed expensive effects that I didn’t need it sucked having to scroll through them all to find my beloved pixel film studios until I finally discovered your video that truly helped me bless you!!!
Setting up a new Mac I always go to Finder, View, Show Path Bar. Then it always keeps the path of wherever you are at the bottom of every Finder window.Nice and discreet but always helpful.
Ok let me try for a specific question. I'm just coming over to Final Cut from Premiere. I tend to operate with two macs. One at the office and one at home. Is there an easy way to ensure that I have plug-in continuity between the two computers? I ask because the process (or lack of) of managing, updating, and installing plugins between two computers can be a time consuming task. Is there a facility in Final Cut Pro that makes the process of managing plugins across different computers a simple and elegant process?
Good video! I also found out that you can locate your obsolete or non-working plug-in within FCPX generators and titles list, then right-click it and select "locate in Finder". Once Finder displays the location of the file, you can go to Finder's menu and select "Go --> Enclosing Folder". Then delete the entire parent folder for the effect and restart FCPX. POOF! The plug-in is gone!
Hi! I used the x-library on an FCP library and on new copies of it but this app finds a plugin that's not applied on any clip (I checked each and every clip on the timeline) and not found on my computer... Weird stuff going on here. Either this app isn't working properly or my FCP libraries are corrupt. Any ideas?
Thanks for your videos. It's the strangest thing. I followed all your steps. Deleted the unwanted plugin (FxFactory Pro), empty trash, restart FCPX and then they are gone. But if I restart a 2nd time the plugins are back in FCPX and in the effects, transitions and title folders again. I've repeated the steps several times. Any idea why they keep coming back?
I have audio plugins that I use for a different program (Ableton) and I want to remove them from my list of plugins on Final Cut. Is there a way to do that without completely removing the plugin?
Hi Jen, thanks for your video. I'm trying to get rid of Rustle Remove/Crumble pop /fxfactory. I installed their trial version into a trial version of Final Cut Pro X on a Macbook 12.1 and since I did that I've not been able to export anything -error message says "cannot encode". Their support has told me this app doesn't work with FCP trial but i am now having an issue getting rid of it. From the Motion Templates folder I deleted Fxfactory Pro as you suggested but the Crumble Pop effect is still there within FCP effects. I went back to Motion Template and also see Fxfactory Pro listed in Generators and Titles and Transitions. I'm thinking I should also delete it in there as well? Just wondering if you agree and if there's anything else you could suggest so that I can get my projects to export again. Thanks for any advice you have.
Hi Jenn I still cant locate my plugin , tried movie , fcpx own folder ...nowhere i could find them also tried to search but mac just wont show any correct result . do u still have any idea where they could b at ? lol sorry to trouble u
Thanx for solution, but I have empty folders "transitions", "effects" etc....I have set many effects in my FC, but I cant see it inside of this folders..They all are empty :-/
As long as you offered, I am struggling to do a specific effect. I want to be able to zoom through a window and then see a large interior clip. Plus the reverse where the camera zooms backward, out of a window, and then see the larger exterior clip. Any help is appreciated.
