My first real roller coaster! I recommend this one 10/10. Warning: the loops look bigger in person but don't let that scare you, the loops are the best part of the whole ride (and it basically is the whole ride). I rode this with my bf who helped me calm down enough to actually go on this and this was awesome. I'm not one for drops at all but that one came at such a pleasant surprise that I didn't feel that scared. The rest of the ride was just awesome and felt amazing, felt like you were flying like a bird.
This is my favorite roller coaster at the park!! Me and my brother have this ongoing joke where we make normal faces during first big drop! that leads to an awesome picture!
Dan Hood To be fair, Arrow coasters are usually rough because they don't have springs in the wheel system, like B&M does. I didn't get a good look at the wheels on this bad bitch, so I don't know, I'm gonna stop before I do a nerdy coaster rant.
+Jason Hook They are also rough due to the rough transitions they have. Most Arrows were built before computers were commonly used to design a coaster.
I disagree, and the main logic behind that theory is that Vekoma's, which use near identical track, train, and wheel systems as Arrow did, are still alarmingly rough (SLCs in particular), to this day. We do indeed have computers now to better design rides, but the fact that Zamperla, Vekoma, and Gerstlauer are still making coasters which are unintentionally rough tells me it has little to do with computers.
This was the 1st coaster I ever rode. My dad told me before we got on... " no matter how bad you feel after this... Don't tell your mom I let you ride this" Best coaster ever
i think this is a GREAT first rollercoaster. it is so fast and i was so scared the first time i rode it but it was PERFECT!!! ride this and do not be scared i was in your place. it is sooo fun
This was my first roller coster ever I was 5 years old. I looked at it and it had the loops and I ask my mom "does this go upside down" and she said nope. I later told her she lied and se said I know but you got on. 5 minutes later I asked to do it again.
haha, nice man. sometimes parents want their to lie to their children for the greter good. number 2 rule, Always respect you parents, i live with that rule all the time
Mathias Mueller I don't think you were 5. My nephew is half way to 6 and is 44 and a half and is taller than his pre k classmates. We check since he loves what coasters he can ride. This one is 48 inches lol. Sad your mom lied to you but I think you were older. I'm thinking maybe by next summer my nephew can ride this and lightning rod. He can ride mind bender down here in atlanta, so he loves looping coasters. We will be at dollywood memorial day in like 3 weeks. Lightning rid here I come, the following week twisted cyclone
I've been on this coaster in 2022 and I must say, that it is the best coaster that Arrow has created. This beats any of the rough arrow loopers out there (ex: Corkscrew, Ninja).
vortex is really showing it's age now. not smooth at all, and really slow and jerky. won't be around much longer. same goes for outerlimits. glad i went this year, there time is almost up, sadly.
Omg, I'm from Tennessee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I live in Germantown which is outside of Memphis! Did not know there actually is an amusement park in Tennessee until watching this video!(:
I have rode so all the coasters at Busch gardens Tampa that are twice as high and much longer... but none of them knocked the wind out of me before until I rode this. That drop comes quick after that lift and you don't know it cause the mountains up there. Such a fun ride!!
True dat. DollyWood may not have as many roller coasters as 6 flags or Bush Gardens, but the ones DollyWood has are so much better than 6 flags or Bush Gardens
I remember riding this when it opened in 1999 I was 13 now im 28 where does the time go? my family would go down there from Baltimore each year for vacation loved it compared to here in Baltimore
Oh, wow, that brought back memories. I rode that several years back and idk if I will again. Don't get me wrong, it is fun, as all get out. :-)... but it hurt my shoulders from going upside down and being pressed into the bars that hold you in.Also, if any want to ride it, be sure to take an extra pair of pants, as it split the seat of mine lol. I had to borrow my nephew's long-sleeved sweatshirt to tie around my waist. X-D
Spring 2015 I was on vacation and Tennessee was our last stop so we came to dollywood this ride was the first roller coaster I went on there and it was my first time going on one by myself but I loved it there was literally no line I don't understand why cause it was fun but it was one of my favorites they did a good job on it
Morgan Ahlstrom idk why either, the longest line ive ever seen is 100 mins, (which was the day wild eagle opened) I came back a week later and the wait for it never went higher than 30. Meanwhile at Disney the wait for space mountain is always 70+ (ive seen it at 170 :0). why does no one come to Dollywood? idk, its better than Disney (in rides) imo
"Can I get off now?" Lol. No. You're already in motion. You can get off when it's over. I love all the roller coasters at Dollywood. I have yet to ride Firechaser Express.
When I was a kid my family would go to Dollywood every Mother's Day weekend because my aunt and uncle don't live far from Pigeon Forge. I remember when this used to be the Thunder Express, and it was the only coaster in Dollywood for the longest time until the late 90s when replaced it with this coaster. It was the first inverted coaster I had ever been on, and that's when I discovered that inverted coasters didn't bug me as much as regular up-and-down coasters.
According to Wikipedia, This ride debuted as TN Tornado & has had that name with no name changes, so you are incorrect. There is an Iron Butterfly element in it.
What always gets me about this coaster is the hill doesn't seem nearly big enough to keep the cars going through such large loops. In all honesty it could be bigger since the cars do slow down when hitting the peaks. I always worry were going to get stuck upside down. What I love about this coaster is how it does its drop: the hill going up isn't that high so I never get anxious going up it. I absolutely love coasters but going up the hill is the most terrifying part for me. I wish more coasters utilized this type of hill system so it's not as anxiety inducing, and it came as such a (pleasant) surprise when we did drop.
A good and intense Arrow coaster in my opinion. At first I knew that the Tennessee Tornado was intense. But it was REALLY intense. You can feel alot of g's on the loops. Once is enough for me. :)
There are only a very few good arrow loopers (I heard) out there, and this being one of them, and Loch Ness monster at busch gardens being another. We must preserve the arrow looper breed while we can! :)
I remember the first time I rode this 😂i didn’t know there was a big drop so I was like HOLY CRAP 😂but then on the third loop I knew it was about to be over so I went, “waaaaaaaaaa” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
As a person who is terrified of the drop feelings on rollercoasters, if you scream all the way down that first drop it's not too bad, the rest of the ride is amazing and not bad at all.
OMG this was in my recommended but I went on a trip to Tennessee we went there and that was my first upside down roller coaster but you can't even feel going upside down 😄
So... the shot at the beginning of the train leaving the station and the train goes round to the left, on the pov, where the camera is on the train, it goes around to the right.... im confused...
Guys if you ever go to Dollywood, be prepared if you do ride this ride that it is so bumpy that my head kept hitting the back of the seat and it hurt so bad after but everything else was so fun on the ride
Really? Weird... This was the last Arrow traditional sit-down looping coaster, with more advanced shaping than other similar rides. Most other people I've heard talk about this ride have not complained about any roughness, in fact they've praised it for being very smooth.
When we were about to get on the ride I told my dad I was having 2nd thoughts then he told me we might miss our chance to ride and pushed me in and put my harness down, but I must say I did enjoy the ride
Did you hear the guy at the beginning who was like,"Can I get off now?"😂😂😂😂
That would be me
I never really rode a real roller coaster :/
I did this one yesterday!
Did anybody hear the guy at the beginning say "can I get off now" as soon as the roller coaster started 😂😂
Yes lol so funny
Lol i know i’m late but yea lol that was me the first time i rode it
0:25 "Can I get off now..." haha
same
SplatBrat me
SplatBrat “I want to get off Tennessee Tornado.”
but too bad u will have 2 get off when the ride is over
SplatBrat 😂
My first real roller coaster! I recommend this one 10/10. Warning: the loops look bigger in person but don't let that scare you, the loops are the best part of the whole ride (and it basically is the whole ride). It was mine too
This coaster is surprisingly smooth unlike other Arrow Dynamic Coasters
Probs the best sounding Lifthill I've ever heard :D
Vamecoasterfan no, that is all Arrow coasters. They all have that fantastic lift hill sound.
It's just to short. But it's a blast
Asher Priddy Ikr!?😀
That's the main problem with the ride...otherwise it's honestly awesome
Not to mention it’s one of the smoothest looping coasters made by Arrow Dynamics!
"remain seated at all times" hah like they have a choice.
4gs dont lie
It’s funny how you stupid GP and coaster enthusiasts hate on Arrow Loopers just because of the roughness.
THEAMERICANBRANDGAMER lol so wHats in between GP and an entHusiast?
2015 A Face Oddity Why ask that question?
ChaoticZomba -Gameplay and More! bc He was talking bad about GP and coaster entHusiast botH, so i want to know wHat is in between.
This is my favorite roller coaster at the park!! Me and my brother have this ongoing joke where we make normal faces during first big drop! that leads to an awesome picture!
This is intense and the inversions are large and fun. Great Arrow Looper!
By FAR the smoothest damn Arrow I've ever ridden.
Jason Hook That's because it's one of the only major coasters Alan Schilke designed for them
Dan Hood To be fair, Arrow coasters are usually rough because they don't have springs in the wheel system, like B&M does. I didn't get a good look at the wheels on this bad bitch, so I don't know, I'm gonna stop before I do a nerdy coaster rant.

We do indeed have computers now to better design rides, but the fact that Zamperla, Vekoma, and Gerstlauer are still making coasters which are unintentionally rough tells me it has little to do with computers.
Dan Hood I thought this was one of the first coasters that Arrow used computers to aid in design.
This is one of the smoothest coasters I've ever ridden.
This, and Loch Ness hold a special place in my heart as my first “real coasters”
“Can I get off now”? Lol I’m actually here right now lol
This was the 1st coaster I ever rode. My dad told me before we got on... " no matter how bad you feel after this... Don't tell your mom I let you ride this" Best coaster ever
This has always been my favorite ride at Dolloywood! :)
I’m disabled now and can’t ride any rides, so this was GREAT! Thank you!
My mom works at Dollywood so when I go there I literally spend the entire day on this ride. My record is 17 times in a row.
Gabi Rojas it makes me sooo dizzy
Gabi Rojas no one asked
so lucky!!!!!!!!!! it would be a dream come true 😂 is it the one in pigeon forge?
Excuse yourself (to the user who was being rude) and YES this is the one in Pigeon Forge!!! =^.^=
Oh yeah my record on the roadrunner express at six flags fiesta Texas is 18 times in a row!
Good Lord, reliving the terror of riding this ride by watching this video was chilling.
i think this is a GREAT first rollercoaster. it is so fast and i was so scared the first time i rode it but it was PERFECT!!! ride this and do not be scared i was in your place. it is sooo fun
This was my first roller coster ever I was 5 years old. I looked at it and it had the loops and I ask my mom "does this go upside down" and she said nope. I later told her she lied and se said I know but you got on. 5 minutes later I asked to do it again.
Lol I just got to ride that last year and then o have rode all the rides in Dollywood I live in pigeon forge so yeah
haha, nice man. sometimes parents want their to lie to their children for the greter good. number 2 rule, Always respect you parents, i live with that rule all the time
You believed her when she said no even though you can literally see the massive vertical loop right infront of you?
Mathias Mueller I don't think you were 5. My nephew is half way to 6 and is 44 and a half and is taller than his pre k classmates. We check since he loves what coasters he can ride. This one is 48 inches lol. Sad your mom lied to you but I think you were older. I'm thinking maybe by next summer my nephew can ride this and lightning rod. It was my first to
Beautiful Arrow!!
This is one of the smoothest Arrow coasters around.
I've been on it before,it's VERY scary
Same I hated the tunnel part
The drops go from “oh wow this looks fun” to “holy s**tballs”
I've been on this coaster in 2022 and I must say, that it is the best coaster that Arrow has created.
This beats any of the rough arrow loopers out there (ex: Corkscrew, Ninja).
I went on it yesterday! And I loved it! Definitely Recommend it!
The best AD coaster I've ever ridden so far... Yes it's short but packs a bunch of fun and it's not shaky at all👍🏻
All of DollyWood's roller coasters are smooth, except Thunderhead.
I am going to dolly wood tommorow we are waking up at six AM and driving ten hours for Tennessee. With my family can't wait!
Beleieve it or not this thing is smooth
Lol. In the backround I hear, " CAn I get off now?" xD
This was my first looping roller coaster. SO MUCH FUN!! It sorta threw you around a little bit. My first roller coaster was Kingda Ka.
Soumitra Pillay WOW! Kingda Ka?! That is one heck of a coaster to start with!
Im first was hulk at universal
coolice700 Batman @ SFOT
Jason Hook wow
Jason Hook
Just rode this for the first time today. Great coaster!
This was my first upside down roller coaster, and i loved it. It's amazing
I went on this 4 times yesterday and this is my new favorite ride!
This and Vortex at Kings Island are pretty good AD's.
Most people consider Tennessee Tornado the best Arrow Dynamics custom looping coaster because of its smoothness.
Eh, imo, Vortex is better and longer.
Yeah totally
vortex is really showing it's age now. not smooth at all, and really slow and jerky. won't be around much longer. same goes for outerlimits. glad i went this year, there time is almost up, sadly.
mark40511 it is
This is my favorite arrow I've ridden thus far.
This was my first roller coaster experience almost pissed in my pants before the ride. IT WAS AWESOME

This ride makes me sad that arrow went bankrupt a few years later. They finally made truly great rides towards the end and then they went belly up.
NitroGadvRules well they are s&s now
Oh, wow, that brought back memories. X-D
That first loop is a monster.
My first big roller coaster ! The tunnel scared me alittle! But OMG that was my favorite. I was scared to ride the wild eagle.
I rode this yesterday and it was the first roller coaster I have ever rode it scared the crap out of me
Why did you rode this as you first coaster then?
Favorite coaster at Dollywood!!!
to me mystery mines like a kiddie ride except for the parts that lend u all the way back and the loop wild eagles the best n my opinion,
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE RIDE!!!
Spring 2015 I was on vacation and Tennessee was our last stop so we came to dollywood this ride was the first roller coaster I went on there and it was my first time going on one by myself but I loved it there was literally no line I don't understand why cause it was fun but it was one of my favorites they did a good job on it

+Clash of da clans
It's nice having not so many people there. Short lines are the best lines :D
true but there was like two people in front of me and then i got to go on
"Can I get off now?" Lol. No. You're already in motion. You can get off when it's over. I love all the roller coasters at Dollywood. I have yet to ride Firechaser Express.
Emily Jeffords The firechaser express is very fun but its not extreme like wild eagle its more a kid roller coaster if you ask me
It is fun but a bit boring
this looks awsome i am going next weekend for a hole week i plan to ride this
When I was a kid my family would go to Dollywood every Mother's Day weekend because my aunt and uncle don't live far from Pigeon Forge. this isnt an inverted coaster. Its an invertING coaster, meaning it goes upside down. InvertED means it hang below the track.
Yeah.... In my opinion, looping coasters are better than airtime (up and down as we may also refer to it as) coasters.
That's right! I totally remember the thunder express. That and the blazing fury were all they had for ages.
HatesStupidPeople194 Thunder Express actually still operates today under a new name at a park in Arkansas
this is favorite ride at dollywood I love it so much when I was there I rode it like ten times in a row
This is my favorite ride! I rode it 5 times!
My school went on May 11th and now my favorite rides are the wild eagle and the Tennessee tornado
According to Wikipedia, This ride debuted as TN Tornado & has had that name with no name changes, so you are incorrect. There is an Iron Butterfly element in it.
I just went there not too long ago! Well not the ride just dollywood! It would have been cool to meet you there!
this does simply not look like an arrow, it doesn't have crappy transitions, and it looks butter smooth
Dude, just got off the ride and Jesus that was fast! Good ride 👍👌
What always gets me about this coaster is the hill doesn't seem nearly big enough to keep the cars going through such large loops. In all honesty it could be bigger since the cars do slow down when hitting the peaks. I always worry were going to get stuck upside down.

+Matthew Vargas actually Demon at SFGAm got stuck in the loop in 1998, but thankfully no other related incidents were reported since
Yes but as he mentioned, it was due to an object on the tracks.
Ol' Misery
matt no
HEY I REMEMBER THIS! It was my 2nd favorite ride. I forgot the name of the first one was, but it was like the tallest
Wild Eagle maybe?
@@sharpproductions yep
I wish I was like you. you ALWAYS go to theme parks
A good and intense Arrow coaster in my opinion. At first I knew that the Tennessee Tornado was intense. But it was REALLY intense. You can feel alot of g's on the loops. Once is enough for me. :)

I love this ride I went to Dollywood in July 2018
I used to be terrified of coasters that went upside down. Now I have ridden every ride at Dollywood
love the sound of that chain lift
And also the loudest as well give steel vengeance a run for its money
i was in line for this so glad i turned around and left lol
As a person who is terrified of the drop feelings on rollercoasters, if you scream all the way down that first drop it's not too bad, the rest of the ride is amazing and not bad at all.
Alan Schilke is amazing.
The coaster has a section of track that was dubbed the "Iron Butterfly". But the ride itself was never called the Butterfly.
I loved this rollercoaster it was amazing
It doesn't look that bad. Can't wait to ride it soon.
Its fun
OMG this was in my recommended but I went on a trip to Tennessee we went there and that was my first upside down roller coaster but you can't even feel going upside down 😄
It was mine too the scariest part was when you go into that dark thing
don't know why the operator said "remain seated", as the riders can't stand up, due to the restraint type used!
ikr
So... the shot at the beginning of the train leaving the station and the train goes round to the left, on the pov, where the camera is on the train, it goes around to the right.... im confused...
I'm definitely riding when I go tomorrow
Best coaster in the park rode it twice
Guys if you ever go to Dollywood, be prepared if you do ride this ride that it is so bumpy that my head kept hitting the back of the seat and it hurt so bad after but everything else was so fun on the ride
RODE IT, AMAZING RIDE!
That first loop was SO HUGE!
Soumitra Pillay 115 ft., to be exact
I'm dying
Jason Hook 110ft* actually.
Tbone1725 OK, so I was off by the height of the average human being. No biggie
Jason Hook Lol
I'm going to guess before it reopened for 2013.
Really? Weird... This was the last Arrow traditional sit-down looping coaster, with more advanced shaping than other similar rides. Most other people I've heard talk about this ride have not complained about any roughness, in fact they've praised it for being very smooth.
This is one of my favorite rides
The loop is named "Dolly's Iron Butterfly" it's meant to look like butterfly wings.
This video is awesome
When I went to Dollywood this was my favorite
This ride is a must do.
going to dolly wood so exited!
when i rode that. the drop felt a lot longer than it looked lol.
I just rode it today and I was thinking the same thing lol
A lot longer and a lot steeper. Videos don't do it justice. This coaster is intense.
Best arrow ever
Sounds like the tracks are breaking
They aren't.
When we were about to get on the ride I told my dad I was having 2nd thoughts then he told me we might miss our chance to ride and pushed me in and put my harness down, but I must say I did enjoy the ride
Does this have magnetic brakes? Because the friction brakes are usually pretty loud.
is it rough? cuz it has the same builders as Loch Ness in VA and that's crazy rough.
I love this roller coaster
Surprised I haven't seen ArrowEnlightenmentLeader on here
Yeah, where is he?
1:30 more down force with a long loop Air Force!
I mean you feel force coming down on you on this loop!
I felt like i was going to fall off!
is it just me or does the drop look no where close as big as wild eagle's but it still goes faster?
you're right, it looks nothing close to wild Eagle's drop
@@diamondsforever5903 it isn't nearly as high as Wild Eagle. Nowhere close lol
