The entire Cosmoteer OST is quite literally one of the greatest OSTs of all time. I am not kidding, listen me out: It might not be the most bombastic and epic _(Even that's not true, simply engaging with an enemy makes that fact instantly obvious)_ soundtracks of all time, but it more than makes up for in every other aspect. First of all, I want to admire just how well it fits the actual game. As a pretty old Cosmoteer player, having started playing the game three or so years ago, I can say that pretty confidently. _(The OG Classic game's background ambiance was charming, mystical and a little creepy, and even if I miss it, I can't deny that their removal was absolutely worth it)_ The soundtrack is mystical, atmospheric, awe-inducing and makes everything feel grandiose, a truly perfect fit for a Sci-Fi space game. Second of all, it's simply very good! All of the tracks are really unique from what I've heard from any other game, composed fantastically, have great instruments used in them and as mentioned above fit the game pitch perfectly. I would gladly ramble on for hours on how amazingly executed all of them are and how saddening or exciting/energetic they can feel at times, but unfortunately I simply don't know enough musical terms to. Last but not least, my favorite part about the OST in general... _The fact that it's ADAPTIVE!_ Seriously, what?! When I first heard the soundtrack in some video I thought to myself, ''no way Cosmoteer actually has adaptive music now!'' And indeed there was a way, and I couldn't be happier about it. All four versions of each tracks are simply phenomenal: The regular one with all its mystical whimsy, the energetic and snappy Interior version to make you feel cozy, like you're _inside_ the ship and protected from all the outside dangers of space, the absolutely epic battle version that sounds like it's straight from a Sci-Fi action film _(I in fact love the battle version so much that I sometimes intentionally set up two invulnerable ships fighting each other whilst building something in Creative mode)_ and finally, an even calmer and more whimsical background ambiance version that only plays when you're really, really far zoomed out _(Or inside of the fog of war)._ There's also a fifth exclusive version I think, which is a mix of the battle version and interior version and only plays when you're zoomed in on your or enemy ship during a battle. That one's probably my favorite. ...Like it couldn't get any better, the four (/five) versions transition between each other incredibly well. So smoothly in fact, that you can't even notice and stay fully immersed in this already fantastic Official Soundtrack. Absolutely incredible job with this, Dubmood, I am absolutely in awe with all of these fabulous tracks.
totally agree with this. Could not say it better. One of the melodies also gets stuck in my mind and I'm singing it all the time when I'm washing dishes (i'm serious.)
Thank you! it is extremely satisfying to learn that you interpret the music exactly the way I intended it to, even up to the point where you used the word cozy to describe the interior music (Did you read my notes?!). Your praise is invaluable to me, my creativity and motivation to continue to compose music in general and music for cosmoteer in particular and I am incredibly grateful for it and for the feedback. I'll try to make every possible variation of the soundtrack available eventually but it might take some time. See you soon in the cosmoteer lobby.
@@Dubmood_Music Thanks a lot for replying. Seeing a person as talented as you appreciate some music praise I have written really means a lot to me. Also no I definitely did not read any of your notes, the feeling of coziness I felt with the interior version of the tracks really was the first thing I experienced from them 👍 Also, quick question if I may... A close friend of mine who doesn't play Cosmoteer, but knows about music very well, was amazed at how great the Cosmoteer music was that I sent it to him. He asked me if I could directly ask you one question: _Where do you get motivation for these kinds of musical pieces?_ They are something truly out of ordinary and neither me, nor my friend has ever heard something quite like this ever before. I'd really appreciate if you'd answer. (Have a great day and hopefully I haven't been too much of an annoyance to you)
@@Dubmood_Music You deserve every bit of praise man, you absolutely do! You've blessed the cosmoteer community with your music. You are incredible, and keep it up. You'll be popular within the coming years. I'm sure of it.
The ambient noises that echo into space giving that iconic space feeling. The beeping sounds almost like radar pings, and mechanical fissures from ships. Great pieces of soundtracks, really.
i remember once i had a very funny situation in that game (was multiplayer) and we were nearby a pirate station. we were in total fear that we will be so toast within the next fight. and suddenly, the one red dot came nearby, the music switched to fighting mode, and a banshee came. but then, it turned around and went away, like on a catwalk. that was the situation the whole time. banshee came, fight-music, banshee left. and left us always behind and we had no clue what was going on with that banshee.

@@Dubmood_Music I swear to god man you didn’t have to go all out it’s just a game not a lifelong project
I love listening to the COST

8:25 This part doesn't play in the game nearly enough
This is my favorite part of the whole thing. I could've easily played this on my ambient patio nights as a DJ.
Can we get the combat variants of the Cosmoteer music soon?
subscribe and activate patience mode, I'll try to upload the complete soundtrack but little by little.
гуд!
