Great video Gentile, I have purchased a rear interior light upgrade Light unit, so that I will have Map reading lights front and back. I also have a headlight switch unit with the addition of the dimmer function. This is from a Focus C-max, so it doesn't have the Auto lights, function as my Focus is an Zetec like yours Gentile. One of the first jobs I did was to put some bulbs in the front foot well light bulb holders, present on most Mk2 Ford Focusses. Great stuff again Gentile Cheers.☺
Thank you very much. Great work you’ve done there. I’m fitting a rear interior light at some point now that I’m am a parent and when the winter comes I want to see better at the back.
The speakers I bought were slightly too big so I had to remove a bit more material but then I struggled getting the screws in. I'm embarrassed to say it took me 3 hours to do this but I'm glad I did as both factory speakers had stopped working.
Interesting video. I have been looking into upgrading the speakers of my Fiat Bravo, but they are of similar construction like the Focus and it made me hesitate a bit. But it seems rather straightforward, looking at this video 😅👍
Lot of work. Easier to fit the blue plastic coned Ford ones. Drill out 4 rivets. Swap the speaker and rivet it. 10 min job including taking the door card off and on. They sound pretty good as well
These ones were far cheaper and I didn’t think it was a lot of work. Also I don’t have a riveter or rivets available (never had the need for them before). Everyone does the jobs according to their needs and tools. The end result is what I wanted, so that’s good enough for me
@@nigelmitchell351 they were fitted to titanium’s and some other models as an option. They have a blue plastic rather than paper cones. The tweeters are different as well so get those if you are planning a trip to a breakers. Also get the rear tweeters as the wiring is there taped up behind the door card. Cut the hole, clip them in and plug em in. Careful when cutting the hole. It is marked on the back of the door card.
Hey man, nice video I probably will need this in the upcoming week! Last week I had to brake hard on the highway for the car in front of me, a can of Red Bull flew to the place where the cigarette lighter is located and where my phone was laying connected to an AUX cable. It was dark outside and so it was in the car, I noticed that the drink fell there like 3/4 minutes after it happened. When I noticed, I took out the can of that place and checked if my phone got wet. On the moment I picked up my phone, my left speaker stopped working directly. A few days I was looking why my left speaker stopped working, but on the day the temperature got higher outside the speaker started to make buzzing sounds and worked for like 3 seconds and started buzzing again. I’m gonna change both of my front speakers like you did but do you maybe know what could cause the left speaker to stop working? Thanks man.
Thanks. No idea on what caused the speaker issue and it took me a while to notice to be fair. I guess they all go bag at some point as many owners had a similar issue
@@GentilsGarage Thanks for your reply appreciate it 🙏🏼 I probably will use an adapter in between because I don’t have any soldering equipment. Another question man, how do I know which is the minus and plus cable coming from the car itself? Are the grey ones the minus and the whites one the plus? And does it matter how I will put the adapter on? I read about it to get the best quality of music to put it the correct way, but not sure which colour stands for what.
I own a 2010 Ford Focus MK2, and I’m experiencing issues with the speakers. Currently, only the rear driver-side speaker and the front right tweeter are working. I’ve checked the wiring, and everything seems to be intact. Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be?
I was so dissapointed when I bought my Focus 2. The satellite speakers are soooo strained to listen to. Much better in the Focus mk 1 with the full tone unit
I brought a mk2 facelift estate... to my disappointment there were no speakers at all behind the front seats... the previous owner must of upgraded at some point and removed all the rear speakers when they sold it!!! I'm doing the big 3 upgrade with a higher power alternator and a bigger, better battery. it's not going to be a pretty penny but i want a dirty sound system sooo so bad!!! 🤪👍
I know, I do mention them at 1:04 and there’s a picture of them too. However, since I have no intention of using stock speakers again, I see no point in buying an adapter for something I’ll never use again.
Not always, although many argue in favour or against. In this case the radio was off and the ignition, that also sends the power to the radio was off too. In the same way, the battery doesn’t need to be disconnected to replace bulbs, so no need to disconnect the battery to replace speakers.
Just take out the original speaker mounting and buy a new one für after market Speakers, is a better way. There are some adapter for upgrade speaker for this type of socket aswell. it can be done more professional then that.

My right front speaker worked when it was sunny, but now it's gone completely dead. Always thought the wiring was bad. Might give this a try.
Exactly the same as mine. Seems to be a common thing after a few years

hello thank you for your video if I understand correctly the rear speakers connect to the front speakers. Can you confirm this for me, thank you.
they are independentkly wired. I can change the speaker balance to just front, just back or all of them.
Which Color of the Wire is Plus and and which is minus ?
Great Video
I think minus is the one with the line mark

It’s annoying isn’t it. After a suggestion from a viewer, I also disconnected the original door tweeters and the sound is more refined now

Hey Chris, how do you know which cable is the plus and minus coming from the door itself the grey or white ones?
Hello, could you please provide the link for speakers that you have bought. Thanks
Sorry, I have no link as i bought these from Facebook Marketplace. search for JVC, Kenwood of Sony 16cm speakers and there are plenty for sale online.
@@GentilsGarage okay, thanks a lot.
What is the depth of the original speakers? I want to replace to JVC with a depth of 43 mmm
im not sure, but they were about the same as a standard 16cm speaker

They do, but I disconnected them a few weeks later

They were not the same size as the terminals in the speaker, that’s why I had to cut the socket
