- In this video we run through Affininty's recommend use of Luminosity Range masking and that is to perform manual HDR merging which Affinity says gives more control than automatic HDR. Is it better than HDR? How do we do manual HDR? That is what we are answering in todays video.

Excellent. Thank you.
You are welcome!
I think the manual HDR gave the best result, but more importantly, I thank you for demonstrating this alternate technique.
You're welcome!
This is often referred to as exposure blending. Affinity passed Photoshop in the ease of implementation with their luminosity range masks.
Yes it is also called exposure blending. Strange that lightroom has luminosity masks but not photoshop.
Another excellent video - thx
Glad you enjoyed it
Not sure how to respond. First only 2 images really doesn’t contain enough detail in all three areas needed, manual or automatic.
Second remember you can and should adjust the image in the tone map persona
Thanks for your feedback. The number of brackets were limited to simplify the problem and to illustrate the concept. Many viewers (particularly beginners) will find it hard to follow three images. It's true that tone map persona can be adjusted but not do the same level of control as manual HDR as Affinity itself states.
Thank you. All three are terrible IMHO
You can tweak as you please
