First of all i had no idea i could spread resin with your hand on the canvas!!!😮 I just learned something. I just followed your example on my pieces and waiting for my results. Thanks you just made my art experience a little better!👍👍👍👍👍💗👌excellent work guys.
Awesome, thanks for the tutorial! LOVEHATEHERO? No way haha, I used to listen to those guys and was bummed that they weren't playing anymore, What up Paris. All in all, great video thank ya kindly.
Hiya Paris...…..Hiya Miss Stone Coat...…..Question......I was wondering if one could do a "dip" with resin......either working on a protected surface or directly on another canvas.....would you mind trying it?
I watched a previous video of yours and chose to put the crystal rustoleum on my paintings but now I’m considering using resin. Will it ruin my paintings if I put resin on top of the spray gloss coating?
Thanks so much for sharing !!! I’ve just picked up the art of canvas acrylic pour and my pieces are worth resining ..... the size is 14” x 16” will the resin be too heavy for the canvas ? I also have one double this size 😳 will my canvas sag or crack at all 🙏🏻 appreciate your time and response x
I know I'm late to this video, but I'm so glad I found it. I have a couple pieces I want to resin and I've been so nervous about trying it. Is resin self leveling?
Love your videos.... I have a question. I have been doing diamond painting, the drills are made of resin. My question is if it is possible to resin the canvas so that I can have a smooth, solid surface. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video! It was exactly what I was looking for. I noticed that you also had the hardener - do you suggest both, or does the resin by itself suffice? Paris’ large piece came out beautifully!
HELP: I am new to resin on pours.. I have done about 5.. Each one I have had to redo because of the "pivits" on top or the resin dries and doesn't cover around/over the edges. When It is wet, resin is 100% coverage on the canvas. I make sure it is leveled and covered when done. What am I doing wrong?
@@MixedMediaGirl I specifically searched this question for that reason. Yes it's because you mix two things together and for any newbies that might be confusing. Sincerely, a newbie 😂
Mary Haldeman I'm going to make my daughter do it first lol she wants art for a new place she getting she wants to learn how to learn how to acrylic pour.
Do you cover your work while it dries? Stuff in the air can stick to it forever! I use resin a lot and was talking to the Art Resin folks awhile back. They said never to resin a piece if you use silicone because even if you "wash" the surface, there's still silicone within the paints that can interact with the resin and really mess it up. I never use silicone and still get cells but usually don't want them anyway.
If didn't use actual 100% silicone but hair serum do you still need to wipe your acrylic painting with alchohol and varnish it? Or can you get by with just the resin coat?
Yes. I use cantu shine silk in my paintings and when I put resin on my first piece I did not pre-wipe it. I had to do two coats of resin as a result; sanding and wiping between coats. I finally figured out it was the silicone. I wiped the next two pieces that I did before applying the resin and they came out beautifully.
I coated them with rustoleum gloss clear before I decided how to "finish" just to semi protect them in the heat of my garage while in storage. I hadn't finished a pour before my first resin attempt. ( I normally don't use paint additives in my landscapes other than a thinner.) That attempt was how I learned that I truly needed to wipe a poured painting before sealing. So for my next pours I will wipe, clear coat and then resin.
Is it pure resin or art coat and resin? Can you give us measurements? I wish you were more specific with your products and spoke more about the product itself
Are you sure y'all aren't related? I so enjoy watching the two of you interact together. He is so adorable! Seems like one of those people, just like you, that it would be an honor to meet. And @ParisBosserman, you have not done a video lately... Get with the program wouldja? And don't throw anybody overboard this time ROFL How come Paris wasn't allowed to use the torch? LOL

Dang, I'm not familiar with that resin so I'm not sure but the resin might have been the problem. Some tips though are make sure the canvas is nice and tight and lightly clean it before applying resin to get any dust, fingerprints, etc off. And you can always apply a second layer as needed 😁
IS THE RESIN YOU USE SMELLY AND STICKY WHEN DRY. ?? MOST RESINS SMELL SO STRONG ON ITEMS FOR MONTHS AND VERY STICKY WHEN DRY. YOU TOUCH THEM AND HAND STICKS TO THEM? I ASKED THIS QUESTION ON ONE OF YOUR OTHER VIDEOS BUT DIDNT GET ANSWER? IM SURE YOU ARE BUSY👍👍👍
this was good information thanks for posting it , however none of you wore a mask , may i ask why? From what i have seen other youtubers saying that never resin without a mask specially if you are doing it in a room . Please comment
You shouldn't wear a mask or not based off of UA-cam videos. Research the resin you plan on using and make a decision based on your research. Not all resins are the same, they are quite different. And not all bodies are the same.
Glad I saw this...the tourching! Great heads up.
WOW that looks much easier then I thought, I have been dreading trying resin because of cost and fear of totally messing up my paintings.
Great reminder. That's so nice Paris wants them for his boat. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. 😊

Great job - the colors really come through with resin. Both pieces are beautiful :-)
This was fun. I'm going to try this when I start doing these fun paintings. I'm excited 😃
I love when Paris joins in the fun👍😉😉😉 keep up the good work
Omg!!!! 3 weeks too late!!! Thank you for posting this!!!

Using you hands! Genius! Easy way to get even resin coating! Duh! I’m trying this!
Using resin for 1st time this weekend... appreciated the lesson!
BTW.....Paris, you did scrape the sides, rather vigorously!
I can’t believe how beautiful Paris’ first attempt is. Did you video his pour?? I would be so happy if I’d done something like that!!
Right on Paris!
Hiya Paris...…..Hiya Miss Stone Coat...…..Question......I was wondering if one could do a "dip" with resin......either working on a protected surface or directly on another canvas.....would you mind trying it?
I'll give it a go!
That will be awesome ….Thank you so much!
My wife and I were thinking we could dip our coasters to seal them.
Thank you so much! this was so helpful!!!
Good job Paris
That looks amazing! I’d like to ask if I have to use varnish before using resin and hardner or I can I just directly use resin and hardner over it?
Wow that is exactly what i want my pour to look like, Paris. Did you video it??
I watched a previous video of yours and chose to put the crystal rustoleum on my paintings but now I’m considering using resin. Will it ruin my paintings if I put resin on top of the spray gloss coating?
The concentration on Paris's face while moving the resin around is priceless!

I used Stone Coat Countertop resin and I did my first piece which turned out great. Did I make a mistake buying the StoneCoat resin?
Do you recommend a roller brush, regular paint brush, or just your hands?
Very beautiful👍👌😍❤
So could you use the Stone Coat resin for resin jewelry. In a small/shallow jewelry mold since it has a longer work time?
Yes you can :)
I know I'm late to this video, but I'm so glad I found it. I have a couple pieces I want to resin and I've been so nervous about trying it. Is resin self leveling?
How do you clean your painting before resin. I am having trouble with bare spots where it separates?
Are you using silicone in your painting? I don't use any oils
I saw you scraping the sides. 🙂
I saw Paris scraping the sides Marcy. 😁
PS. He is just so darn adorable!!!
Lovely paintings! how long do you wait for the paint to dry before putting on the resin coat?
Wait 2 weeks for your painting to cure, if u used silicone wash with dawn and let dry then resin. Make sure you research epoxy it can be dangerous.
i have a boat, would it be better to also resin the back of the painting ? thanks
Do you apply a varnish before applying resin?
No :)
Love your videos.... I have a question. I have been doing diamond painting, the drills are made of resin. My question is if it is possible to resin the canvas so that I can have a smooth, solid surface. Thank you.
Do you use a barrier coat before the resin? I want to resin my first painting, but I don’t know what to use as a barrier coat.
Will the resin fill in any cracks or crevices?
Will my acrylic on wood painting turn yellow like it did on a mosaic countertop I made?
Have you ever used Envirotex Light Resin how does it compare this product?
How long do you wait to resin after you have completed your acrylic pour?
What kind of torch do you use and where did you get it?
Thank you so much for this video! It was exactly what I was looking for. I noticed that you also had the hardener - do you suggest both, or does the resin by itself suffice? Paris’ large piece came out beautifully!
Just saw that the kit comes with both :)
How long do you have to wait before putting resin?
This is a great tutorial. Any chance you would do a video on a tumbler with resin?
U should do a live tonight for us NC/SC peeps
I'll see what I can do :)
Cable is out so I'm just watching old MMG videos...
Ah ok! My hubby goes live about 6 to 7 PM (9 to 10 PM your time) I'll see if I can do one after that
@@MixedMediaGirl
That'd be Ah-maze-ing!
How do we know how much resin to use? do you have a chart for this
About 3 ounces per square foot
@@MixedMediaGirl awesome Thank you
If I use a spray varnish and let it dry, can I resin over it?
Does it self level? Could you use this on ceramic tiles?
Warmest wishes to you both
Could you use resin to seal a drawing done in micron on a wood panel?
Hello! May I ask what kind of mixture does the art coat consists?
Can you use a paint brush. I am doing a table top over a acrylic pour
Sure

What can you use to create cells and still use resinTia?
Sparks is not old enough to use the torch?
I have a parrot in the room that I paint in, does the resin have an odor?
It does not :)
Don’t you need a respirator? What about ventilation and open windows?
I always mess my paint. I do the top coat 3 layer. I wait 2 days for all settled. When i pour the resin and the resin start to hard my paint turn mess
How did you get cells without silicone?
There ya go Marcy he can mix all your paint when you do the 200 color painting (lol)
Lol!!!! Great idea :)
Mixed Media Girl lol right he did say he needs his workout that be a great work out. Then you can semd him my way. (To help me) lol
What did you mix with the resin?
Nothing
Are you asking because it's 2 parts? Resin comes in 2 parts usually, resin and hardener. Until they're mixed it won't harden, it will just stay sticky
@@MixedMediaGirl I specifically searched this question for that reason. Yes it's because you mix two things together and for any newbies that might be confusing. Sincerely, a newbie 😂
Did Paris get addicted to resin? Lol I wanna try it but still not that brave lol. My daughter wants me use resin soon 😕😬😄😀😂
Bridgette Steiner I understand! I’ve had some in my drawer for months now and haven’t even opened them.
Mary Haldeman good luck when you do decide to to do it. I haven't bought any but I will.

Art coat is a resin. What measurements are you referring to?
You mixed up 2 different things? Or is it just same resin? Can you please explain?
Yes what was that. Kinda just skipped over
Resin comes in 2 parts, a resin and a hardener. Here's a video on mixing resin ua-cam.com/video/PB1YwS0CzVE/v-deo.html
