Every port has at least one yarn store!!?? Be still my heart!
Another very enjoyable episode, you two often make me laugh! I mean, the looks on Carlos’ face about stash management, directed to Arne. Priceless and so relatable.....
Have a great week and know you have a huge fan in Florida, that would be me.
Hi Deborah...I have Connecticut covered!
I just came back from the northern light cruise with Arne and Carlos. And it’s all true about the yarn shops. As soon as we get off the boat we went to yarn shops. A great cruise!
"Everything Norwegian is trendy at the moment", especially Arne and Carlos! The best Norwegian ambassadors ever. ❤❤
Yahooooooo!!!!!!!!! It is super true!!!!!!! love you trendy guys!
Creative Chaos..."Houston we have a problem." You two make me laugh, Arne defending project clutter and Carlos...you have mastered the "Oh really!" raised eyebrow! I have learned to not drink tea during our Sunday get togethers because at least once an episode I was making a mess of my laptop with my dainty snort!
I so agree no drinking when watching these two. My stash my happy place. Love you two.
Hi Arne and Carlos love your q&a and your stores and hearing about Norway love to go someday looking for to herring more about your garden plans for this year and can you show how to knit or do cable stitches for a sweater thank you all the best from Donna in Canada
Love all your podcasts Carlos you are like my daughter she is always fussing about my yarn and projects. She says I have to many and need to give it away..enjoy watching you and Arnie very much. Ofcourse I will never have as much as you two. Watching from Alabama!!!
Every week is exciting ✨ no matter what you choose to share it is always interesting. Thank you for this Q&A's. One Q I very much related to was hot hands while I crochet. I have a couple things I do and one is an old pastry making tip to keep the hands cool while mixing is to hold your wrists under the cold tap or place them in a bowl of cold water from the fridge. I also spray a little dry shampoo on my hands and rub it in. Both work for a while but I just repeat as it does stop me stomping my feet and downing tools 🌞💕
Arnie’s saying, “Houston, we have a problem!” So perfect! Love you guys! ❤️
For jogless stripes: at the first stitch of the second round of the new color, pick up the right leg of the stitch below and put it onto the left needle. Then knit the first stitch of the round with the picked up stitch. I learned this from Meg Swansen.
You two are the best thing on UA-cam. I’m not kidding.
This is a great video. I love the Q&A’s.
I’m the one waiting for a tutorial on armhole shaping, and sleeve shaping. So they fit together right.
I enjoy you all so much. New term for me to use "Creative Chaos". I can see Miss Freya in the background. She is adorable!
Just come in from from weeding, chopping and mowing in the garden....phew! Relaxing on the sofa, with a cuppa and as always enjoying my weekly catch up with you both, and of course Freya photo bombing! 😍
As always a joy to watch. You look very tired, Carlos. Maybe because you are not wearing your glasses. Hope you are well.
I found a good and quite extensive Norwegian knitting terminology list on the Internet. I love you guys. You cheer me up and make me smile.
I will come from Australia to see the Northern lights on your knitting cruise. It's a LONG way!! We were in Stavanger in 2017 to see friends Astrid, Tom, Hanne and Henrik but that's as high as we went.
You need to have an Organization Party with friends and wine! Always a fun time watching your video's. Would love to see how your studio looks and what idea's you have for it. ( Interior Design is my long long ago back ground, LOL) See you next Sunday!
Arne, I have the same sorting and organizing technique! 🤣 I’m easily distracted by the next brilliant idea!
Your Q&A videos are so much fun. I look forward to each one. Thank you ❤️
I just recently discovered your channel and I really enjoy it. You guys are very interesting.
Thank you, and welcome to our channel. We hope you find it useful.
Greetings from Louisiana, USA. I enjoy your channel and I admire your artistic and teaching ability. You two are so warm and friendly. Thank you for sharing your lives. ☮️❤️🙏🏽Peace,Love & Blessings!
Thank you for your kind words and comment! Have a good day in Louisiana.
“ Houston, we have a problem”… LOL! So exciting that you’re building a studio. I enjoy your videos.
As always, I love spending my Sunday watching your video! Your comments about dealing with your stash and getting sidetracked into making something else was hilarious. I think we can all relate!!! I'm really looking forward to your Norwegian knitting terms video - that'll be a great reference! Tusen takk!
Loved this Q & A. Houston we have a problem. Oh Carlos your facial expressions and very wide smile. So funny. I would just love to see this stash xxx
Hi Annie, you just gave us an idea for a new episode!
Love you guys! So humorous! Arne and I are peas in a pod! Lol
I loved watching Freya in the window behind Carlos’ shoulder barking and barking and barking!
Forgot to say Freya is photo bombing you throughout this video. So smart, getting attention no matter what!
I totally laughed out loud several times during this video. And made my whole family watch it so they could have a great start to their day as well. Planning on another Northern Lights Cruise next March. Yippie!
Great! Gkad we made you laugh
Great video!!!Love the setting too! I know the season is short there, but do you plant a vegetable garden?? See you next time!!
I just finished my first pair of perfect socks using the yarn you designed. That yarn is fantastic.
Congratulations and thank you!
Hahaha, I had to laugh very hard about Arne's way of cleaning! I can imagine: a huge mountain of wool, but "cleaning" by using the little threads of a catalog, haha! Well, all tiny little bits and pieces help...
In the Netherlands we also have the cream for a dry skin. We call it "uierzalf", wich means "Udder salve". (Thank to google translate).
You organize your stash like me, Arnie. I understand completely!
I’d get it organized!
You two are hilarious! Carlos: “I’ll let you take this one”, his expressions throughout Arne’s telling about the “creative chaos” cracked me up 😂
Seriously, I wish I had that problem, yarn all over the place 😍
Thank you for watching!
Great video as usual, love Freya at the window watching outside..lol Looks bright and sunny when you filmed this, have a wonderful week !
The "Cow Cream" you mention was originally invented to massage cows udders after milking - the story goes that people noticed milkmaids developed very soft skin on their hands because they were applying the cream to cows. The cream is variously known as Udder Cream/ Udder Balm / Udder Salve / Bag Balm in Australia / US / UK /. Udder Creams are now sold in chemists/pharmacies for use in dry skin specifically for people. Udderly Smooth is probably the easiest brand to find in Australia and the US, but there are lots of different brands. (eg Moo Goo, Bag Balm, Deri Sal, Udder Balm etc...)
Thank you for this interesting information.
Yes please, would love you to do a Norwegian knitting terms tutorial. You both really made me laugh - I love your sense of humour. And Freya at the window ! Thanks for your great videos.
Hi Mary, stay tuned as there will be one coming in the future!
Thanks guys! You make my Sundays happier! ❤️big hugs from Madrid 😊
Another great podcast! You inform and make me laugh, too 😄
Hey Arne I have a husband who puts up with my creative piles. Carlos you are a supportive partner the best ❤️.
BrambleKnits 🇨🇦
We get ULL and Dale at Ingebritsen's in Minneapolis. Can't other people get Norwegian yarns in their own areas? I'm going to check to see if there are "where to buy" functions on the manufacturer's websites. And of course there are always the big online retailers...webs, etc.
I really enjoy my Arne and Carlos Sunday fix. Arne I organize like you, dollhouse first. You both make me smile, thanks.
Thank you Cheryl
Inspiration for knitting technique -- and Carlos hastily adds KNITTING technique!!! Too funny. Arne let it pass, such shade..😊
Aloha once again, enjoying your channel!!!
Thank you Serena!
Hi guys! I am new-ish to your channel. Found it about 2 months ago. I don’t know how I missed it all this time. I love you both. Not only are you super talented and extremely crafty, but you gentlemen are so funny. I find it delightful that you are so comfortable on camera.
My beagle/Bassett mix Chester loves Freja also. He sits and watches the tele when he sees or hears her, when he’s not so busy snoring. 😴 He’s joined her fan club!
Welcome to our channel Johannah!
The studio makes me more and more curious. Hope we can see it when it is finished. Can we have a cooking turtorial of Norwegian easter food. Perhaps it is similar to Swedish. I have no clue. 🙂
Hi Velma, these are great ideas for future tutorials. We will keep note of them. Thank you!
ARNE & CARLOS Thank you 🙂
A&C you are brighten up my Sundays as always thank you ❤️😉😘
Yes to learning some Norwegian knitting words. Great idea 😊
Nancy, then you must make sure to keep on watching as there will be a language tutorial in the near future.
In my area of Wisconsin USA we call Arne's cream/lotion Bag Balm.
Oh yes. Thank you for the name. If you ask for udder cream and it's not farm country, I've received some strange looks.
My husband uses Bag Balm which is made of lanolin and a bit of menthol is added. So it's probably the lanolin that's used on cow udders. I love that you two call it Cow Cream. I think you two should produce Arne & Carlos's Cow Cream. I'll be the first to buy it. I use Shea Butter for my hands.
I looked that hat pattern that you guys designed but had knit in Peru! I had wondered if it was a pattern for sale and at least now I know the answer! Thank you for explaining that design and I also would love if you translated that into a pattern or maybe a kit and I would purchase that!!! 🙏🏼🤗😊👍🏽
You guys are awesome! Love the video's. I can't wait for the next one to come out!
Fun episode! Is that Freya outside the window? I would love to see and/or hear about your studio under construction.
Love listening to you speaking Norwegian 🇳🇴so sometimes I watch the other vids with you on youtube. 🌸🌸
Thank you for your support!
Google translate..I use it all the time with Norwegian patterns.
Wondering what freija is barking at. I was waiting for you to tap on the window. I have stopped knitting and crocheting for now. Yarn is so expensive. Maybe I'll find an economic source and/or find a way to make money with it. Thanks for all your videos. Love the Q and As.
I saw a you tube video (the title escapes me) about a man who loves to knit with cashmere and can not afford it. He visits thrift stores and goes through the racks looking only for cashmere sweaters which he unravels to make his own creations!
Yarn shop in the train station??
Dream country to me.
I have a quick question.
Why don’t you tell me how to wash the wool stuff that I made? I usually use Wool shampoo. But I’m still worried about it. -So I’ve avoided washing them for a long time look so dirty some of them. -
Hi, we have made a video about: how to take care of your knitwear. Visir our channel to find the video.
I also use the udder hand cream!!
Arnes is so sweet trying to find a middle ground with the translation issue.
You guys are just so damn cute - thanks!
Thank you for watching!
I love your Iittala glassware.
Will you be teaching us any swear words in Norwegian for when we drop a stitch or mess up the pattern in stranded color work? It would be awfully handy!🐑
Lol 😉.
When you garden do you start seeds inside or do you purchase plants? Do you have a green house? I make mini green houses for individual plants, start seeds indoors and direct sow. As an herbalist I grow medicinal plants and honey bee pollinating flowers only. What do you grow in your mountain garden? Do you know what your hardiness zone is?
I'm reading books I once found inspiring. I'm finding that most of them are no longer inspiring because I've gained a lot of experience and am in a different space. I'll be curious if Arne finds this to be true in rereading books as well.
LOL, I think Carlos would like you to clean the big stacks rather than starting with the little things. Cleaning is about decluttering, not doing UFOs (UnFinished Projects), right?
thank you so much
Arne, you clean your stash room like I do. Its organized chaos.
I think of you every time I use my popular American hand cream: "Udderly Smooth" brand. Logo is a cow, and I read the text after one of your Q&A's to confirm it is indeed based on "cow cream" used for udders.
Strike when the iron's hot...inspiration.
Arna and Carlos, I am a new subscriber from Lancaster Pa. USA. Have u ever knitted slouch socks as they are making a comeback. They are socks the slouch down to the ankle. Also if u could, do baby cardigans in pink or baby blue white pale yellow and pale green. Also baby booties and bonnets. I just finished a Bavarian stitch crochet baby blanket for my new grandchild due in September in a chunky cream color yarn. I am waiting for a gender reveal and then if it is a girl I will do the boarder in pink shells or if it’s a boy I will do the boarder in blue. Then I will start a cardigan for the baby. I enjoy watching ur program. Carlos please tell Arne his English is awesome. He is extremely easy to understand and his words will come. I am studying French at age 62 and it’s not easy when I have no one to converse with.
Please visit Scotland when you both come over. 🥰
Now I want to also go to Bergen to see those shops... won't happen till this pandemic is sorted. I was wondering what black thing is moving outside the window right of Carlos ... its Freya's head moving when she barks... I love Freya 🤗
In America, that cow cream is called Bag Balm.
We all have a problem with organizing stash. Yarn hoarders. I am taking a day trip Monday with a friend to Webs. 🤣
I live in Connecticut and limit myself to two visits per year. You MUST go with a knitter friend, otherwise they will become bored and slightly put out when you suggest they wait in the car for you. :-) I really think they should start a small on premise cafe...the place is so huge, you need a rest pause every few hours!
Like hearing you speak in different languages.
Thank you!
Good to see Freya on guard duty while you answer questions!
Do you recommend sorting my stash by yarn weight, or by color?
We recommend that you do what suits you best!
Artists always have same problems I think. We are not good at organizing. Lol I believe I’m an artist too.
That is true!
15:18-17:10 is my favorite part in this vid 😁😁
Glad you liked it!
Hi ;
Our friend and My wife love watching your videos. This weekend we were talking about knitting and neither of them knows how to repair the heal of a pair of wool socks. Could you make a video about it? Thanks!
Thank you for this suggestion!
Love your podcast but missing your crocheting squares i think i asked this question have you tried Tatting very pretty stitch i have been to Norway so long ago as a kid when i was in grade 8 ho my too many years ago i remember it was a beautiful city. We also visit Germany and Paris afraid now to travel i have bad ears and get sea sick on the boats please enjoy your trips God Bless
In 5:30 I see Freia barking outside :D
Did you know there's another language somewhat related to the Scandinavian languages? It's called Frysk (Frysian), and it's spoken in the northern part of the Netherlands and a small part of Germany too. Myself I am not a Frysk speaker, but I heard this from Frysian people who visit Norway and there they can communicate with Norwegian people, each in their own language
This is interesting and we did not know this.
Arne you and I seem to organize the same way.
I have A question!
You are together all the time, do you ever need some time away?
Oh I’d go bankrupt at a Norwegian yarn store!!! 😱❤️
Heard about the Norwegian cruise ship, was that one you were going to go on?
Gisela Suski no, we finished our cruise last week.
Thanks for your awesome show ...I just stumbled on your you tube site and love all your shows ...
👋 Nyder jeres udsendelser hver gang. Arne, jeg rydder op i mit garn på samme måde som dig😉
Så det er et evigheds projekt.😌
Hilsen fra Birthe
Hope you both weren't on the stuck cruise ship!
Both of u look rested n well. Thanks for all the info. Check out our “Northern Lights” in Canada... beautiful too!
We sure will!
FYI devils lake in North Dakota is a town where the population is almost 50/50 native Americans and Norwegian!! Maybe your goal
Of live between American Native is possible in this gorgeous little town
Thank you for letting us know!
Where can I get glitter yarn Arne - I won’t ask you Carlos lol
Someone should knit the" Grocery Girls " . They remind me of Arne and Carlo's!!!
poor Freia!!!
Bag Baum! For cows teats.
Silly name unless you are a cow...but it REALLY works like nothing else...Americans, think Eucerin X 2!
You should do a video reading mean comments lol
Hi Jose, we hope that would be a short video!
Arne, your books, yikes. I had the same system. It was hard for me but I did it. DONATE THE BOOKS TO THE LIBRARY, then you have more room for stash LOL
😂
Translations: use translate.google.com It's not perfect, but if you know how to knit, it'll be good enough for you to edit.
First comment: happy Waffle Day tomorrow!
Is this the same as what you use for your hands? www.vermontcountrystore.com/bag-balm-tin/product/68269 Bag Balm?
