I like how the reflection in the water looked like the comic version of Morpheus.
I love that, particularly for how subtle it is. Like, at first, the thing that stands out is the glowing eyes that have been seen before. Could easily be written off in the mind as just Dream when he's actively using his power. Then, the reflection shifts and changes, so that it becomes more clear that the reflection isn't just his own slightly distorted and discolored by the water, but is rather meant to look like the comic version of Morpheus. It makes the way that it reaches up to grab his outstretched arm all the more sinister-seeming.
in my mind it was his dark side his nightmare side.
The actor who played sand man did spot on perfect
One of my biggest concerns about a live action adaptation was that there simply isn't anyone that could do the voice and look a dream justice

I'm not convinced he's an actor. I think they actually got Morpheus to appear in the series.
When I saw the picture of Morpheus before they showed anything I was like “how are they gonna make it good enough for live action without being cringey or over the top?” And he was amazing! His performance, his look and everything; also love how in this scene his dark reflection looks even more like his comic look

I just can’t begin to comprehend why there are so many bad reviews about this masterpiece. It’s literal poetry in motion!! Not violent or action packed like other series but different genre that’s been brought to life and executed to perfection by the directors and actors in it.
This show is garbage! Gender swapping, lgbt characters, terible! Why 90% of movies/series nowadays must have lgbt characters in it? Why? Hollyweird is...just...woke

I am in love with this series and all the little details, like when it catches the snake inside his coat and you can see the night sky (or space) within. he is truly the personification of dreams.

Comments from folks apparently not familiar with Gaiman's work make me giggle hysterically. So funny. Anthropomorphic beings are not bound by our norms and rules and preconceptions. They just are. Anyway obsessed with this show. Stellar cast with a perfect lead. Greenlight that Season 2!
I love the one where people say Death doesn't look like her comic counterpart. Like bitch, she can choose to look however she likes. Although, I miss the comic counterpart myself, it would still be cool to see the original goth girl look once (ideally played by Kat Dennings because she could pull off the original look, but also because was the voice for the Audible version). It would help push the idea further that the Endless appear to beings differently depending whoever looks at them. Like the time, Morpheus was black when he appeared as Kai'kul to Nada in Hell, or when he appeared as a cat god when cats look at him.
@@lindon6066 They kept the essence of the character, which is all that matters. She's cool, she's beautiful, she's likable, she's wise, compassionate and kind.
It's hard to look at Lucifer's casting and not agree that the actress nails the regal cruelty of the role. Or to look at Desire and not understand that androgyny was baked into the character from day one.
Devoured the first season this weekend , ready for season 2 !

Such a gorgeous scene ! This series absolutely blew my mind. You don't often come across stories as imaginative and poetic as this, let alone on Netflix...Can't wait for the second season !
I like how the inside of his coat looks like the night sky 2:07. Just inky blackness that can swallow anything with tiny flickering stars.

Seriously gotta give it up for the visual storytelling with the dreaming showing and reflectinghis absence. Although he does say it, it does a great job showing how much everything has crumbled In his absence. Overall the visuals and the storytelling in this series is nothing short of spectacular.
I score this 9 out of 10, a must see....And Tom's pouting natural lips are worth watching.

Fr tho… I read a theory once that because TV and radio signals bounce around space - maybe it was picked up by Aliens - and because in EVERY movie we portray aliens as something invading us that we destroy.. they just decide “Let’s just stay away from them - they clearly won’t like us”

It's nice to see him actually take control like a real king. It gets tiring to see in most shows and movies where the king is weak and always need help. I can't take marvel movies seriously anymore and DC comics movies can't even finish a movie series. It's nice to see a good comic tv show for once

I’ve always been hardcore Marvel fan compared to DC but this show definitely has me looking at DC again.
This still happens to be the more interesting of the adaptations from any comic book lately, mostly because it felt like an actual TV show with episodes instead of a 6 hour movie format Disney plus shows have offered, really helped with the pacing.
It was also pretty visually striking and pretty great characterization for Dream, his arc was pretty subtle but noticeable especially in Episode 6.
If any criticism is to be levied I'd say the second half was pretty dull compared to the first.
Whats a real bummer though is the lack of Tom Ellis as Lucifer and Matt Ryan as John Constantine, they considered adding both but ultimately couldn't since Ellis' Lucifer deviated too far from the version they wanted and Warner wants to cut down on Constantine's appearances since he's supposed to be the main focus of the Justice League Dark show, which is kinda dumb but hey Warner Bros
Ellis Lucifer is annoying, this is far superior..
They should both go to Marvel. They're done with DC

Same dude, I read the comics and I thought "no way they get this right." And here we are.
The details! Morpheus' comic version in the reflection, getting control in the currents when he states he has to keep going and the inside of his coat being a never pocket dimension!
I only noticed a few days after, but such nice detail his reflection being a more comic accurate Morpheus

I love Neil Gaiman's work and I am really, really enjoying this series. My only small complaint is that some scenes are a little too dark (no pun intended) and it's hard to make out what is happening in the scene.
Maybe turn up the brightness on your tv?. I have no problem with it personally and can see it very clearly. On my tv I have the brightness set to "Game", "Cinematic" works too.
Yeah it's dark. But that is where the fun is. Late night binge. Even Morpheus voice makes me doze off a few time.

Masterpiece is selective. This is why this one get bad reviews at first. But true value shine brighter when time goes by. Eventually, the real meaning and harmony between every line and every scene of this series will be learned and recognised by the mass.

watched this series without any knowledge whose Neil Gaiman is and what is Sandman.. hell i didn't even watch the trailer when i watched this because my friends were the one who played this on our TV and I just went on with the ride.
Now given my Naivety with the series I still totally fell in love with it and now a part of my heart. This show reflects the love of the creator of it. Everyone from the Executive Producers, Actors and all the people behind this massive show gave a part of their soul and it is clear how much love went with this.
I hope we can get more season for this show, i like this version of the story because it felt more human to me. The comics where it was based off feels like too cruel for me and doing things just because it can. However, this show is has humanity and reasons that it became relatable to me.
Tom Sturridge performance as Dream is PERFECT, nothing can compare how perfect Tom Sturridge is as dream and i am just happy that the producers fought for him to be Dream of the Endless.

This scene reminds me of an entry in The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer. She dreams about swimming across a lake to escape Twin Peaks only for a hand to grab her and drag her down into the water.

You either love this show or you hate it. The story seems horribly disjointed but its not same old BS story. Season 2 looks to have more action in it. Personally I like it a lot.
I like the concepts of what battles look like in these realms. They are above any physical combat as they are close to being Gods. The "I Am" seems like a drama school exercise for actors to pick up impromptu but it plays well here.
there isn't even a season 2 confirmed yet lol. Also this is based on a comic so the stories and arcs are quite short since the comics themselves are.

@@vincentcloud It's never a go until Netflix gives the green light. It was popular so I hope it will happen but writers start going and directors have plans and shows are still shut down by the studio so until Netflix green lights season 2 I won't assume it's happening.
I love these episodes so much (except with the Rose Walker storyline)
The dolls house arc is one of my favorites from the comics and I think the actor did a good job at portraying rose but it definitely felt like they hired some p questionable acting talent for those episodes, still loved how faithful it was tho

I'm trying to watch it currently but on all devices I have it just looks so bad! Scenes overloaded with CGI have huge frame drop, darker scenes are patchy and pixelated and all those currupted visuals give the impression of a poorly compressed pirated video. Barely watchable in my case.
