𝟏) 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭
Start with a clean 100% cotton blank white shirt.
Soak the shirt in water then wring it out. Leave it slightly damp.
𝟐) 𝐌𝐢𝐱 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐲𝐞𝐬
Using 8oz (230ml) bottles
Measure and add your dye powder first.
Add 1 teaspoon of soda ash to the bottle.
Fill the bottle with water and shake well.
Don't mix too much at one time - the solution only stays good for a few hours.
𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 - 𝐃𝐲𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲
Pastel - 1/20 tsp (0,1g)
Soft - 1/8 tsp (1g)
Medium - 1/2 tsp (4g)
Strong - 1 tsp (8g)
Powerful - 2 tsp (16g)
𝟑) 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭
Choose your favorite technique and follow the folding process.
Pleat, crumple, and fold your way to success.
When you're done, bind the shirt using rubber bands or string to secure it in place.
𝟒) 𝐃𝐲𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭
Using your dye bottle, apply the dye gently over the shirt. Use your favorite technique or let loose your creativity, there's no wrong way to do it!
𝟓) 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐲𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭
Leave the shirt in a warm room. The dye reacts better at a temperature of 70°F (20°C) or more.
Let the dye react for 8 hours or overnight.
𝟔) 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭
Rinse your shirt in the sink under cold running water. Open up the shirt while rinsing. Continue rinsing and washing by hand until the shirt stops bleeding.
Soak the shirt in warm water to remove any remaining dye.
𝟕) 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭
Machine wash the shirt by itself or with other tie-dye shirts for the first wash.
Cold wash with a small amount of detergent.
After the first time, you can wash your tie-dye shirt with other pieces of clothing.
I love how the orange faded, but the most saturated bits still look darker! I love this, i would so do this with pastels
I’m gonna have to make this one! I love tigers so much and would love to do a tie dye shirt of it! ❤️
Same here!

I love how you're always experimenting with tye dye! Thats what makes your videos so entertaining!
If you had done purple instead of black it would have totally been an LSU Tigers tee
Beautiful
Excited for this one!!
woop where's my mental unstable gang at 🎉🎉🎉
I mean, that was random, but me lol
Very cool tiger strips.
These could be sold, they’re so good! 🤩
Not sure who started drawing pics but it was clever..thanks for sharing
Спасибо за позитив!
Красота!
Loves it
This stuff is so interesting to watch... I've never considered myself to be artistic, but this honestly looks like lots of fun! Do you have a video/list regarding some good materials/shirts/equipment to get started?
That would make a great reverse tie dye doing the bleach on a black shirt
Grrrrrrrreat!
You should do a unicorn 🦄
WOW!!! Who could have seen THAT coming?
I do wish it was a darker more red based orange rather than yellow but still looked AMAZING
Thank you!
Would you consider trying it w/ 2-3 shades of orange then just use a paintbrush to paint black/brown over the tops of the folds?
Really enjoy your content. It is a great stress reducer when I need 10-15 min mental break.
Okay now I know exactly what to do with my favorite (but stained 🥲) white t-shirt.
Did you know that a tiger is orange because that's part of the color spectrum that their pray are blind to? It's really cool!! Their pray can only see 2 primary colors, yellow and blue, so they just blend in with their background to the deer.
Gasp he listened
THANK YOU
Have you ever tried double spirals? Might look cool to have one spiral on the upper chest, then a second spiral lower down going the other way. Just a thought!
Wow, being from Arizona, the first thing I saw was a gila monster...
I need some dye paint please this is interesting
Look for fiber reactive dyes there's many brands but they are all the same
It comes out Awesome
Просто завораживает!
I wonder what would happen if you did this with the glyphs from the Owl House?
I'm not familiar with the Owl House but I'm sure glyphs would be cool
That would be awesome probably!
YES I WANT THAT
@@Chandye it's a Disney show, a girl named Luz Noceda is supposed to go to a summer camp to try and suppress her weirdness, but missed the bus and wanders into another world known as the boiling isles and becomes a witches apprentice to Eda the Owl Lady and Luz draws glyphs on paper to do magic and it's awesome and you should watch it.

the end effect looks cool, but I was hoping to see the actual tiger stripes as they looked before he unfolded it.
What kind of fabric blend do you use? I mean can they just be any old walmart shirt? Or do they have to be a certain % of cotton?
As long as it’s % is mostly cotton and not polyester I think it’d be fine.
It can be any blend but only natural fibers such as cotton will take the dye. Let's say you have a 50 50 blend then only half of the fibers will get colored resulting in softer looking colors
@@Chandye where do you get your shirts?
Perfect colors for my kids school
Neat!!
Coooool!!! 👍👏👍👏👍💗💗💗
I don't know if you take requests or not, but if you do, do you think you could do a colorful rat or rat head? My pet rat Mars passed away today... I loved him very much and I'm having a hard time with it right now... If you could do something like that it would be really appreciated, as a little memorial to my sweet boy. If not I also understand, and this shirt is beautiful.
What's the video for the shirt you're wearing in the beginning?
WOW
When I saw the thumbnail, I already knew it was gonna turn out heat
Pretty
Omg I love it!!
Where did the yellow come from?
It separated from the orange
Wonderful, thanks 🙌
Lovely
Hi , i am wondering if you could tell me the name of the book you use to do all these desgins , i would be greatful . Kind regards sharon . xx

Thanks, dude
Wow👍👍👍👍👍👍😮😮😮💕💕💕💕
Pretty cool!
Arrasou. ..Faz essa que está em seu corpo...é maravilhosa tbm adorei o stylo 💞
That’s GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRATE
I love your patterns, but I’ve noticed that a lot of the washed & dried tees look kind of faded already. I am wondering how long you are letting your tees batch and whether you use anything to help set the the dye… Also, specifically for black dye, are you using double the amount of dye powder? (I learnt that from Mr Tie Dye 😃). Also, to achieve more vibrant colors, you could experiment with batching in a heated area (or putting the dyed materials in the sun in a closed container). I hope this comment doesn’t offend you - I just think your already great videos could be enhanced just a little!
I think if the washed & dried results were as vibrant as they *could* be, your videos would be even better! I’ve been experimenting with setting the dye by microwaving (!!) tees at the lowest setting to see if that will both speed up the batch time (it does) and improve dye retention (remains to be seen).
Finished shirt is not orange enough
