I've been wanting to tie dye for a long time. Back in the day, the 70s it was a bit harder and you couldn't be so diverse. I just bought my first kid I've been watching a lot of videos. You by far are the most creative, with patterns and your use of colors. I'm mesmerised when I watch you! My favorite pattern is on a purple shirt with a black outline of a triangle in the center, filled in with I want to say red orange and yellow it looks like fire. It's actually a cross the other side of the center facing the opposite way I believe. I apologize it does have a name I couldn't remember it. Even the way you fold is impeccable. I tried my first small project , I have to say my sincerest respect goes to you!
@@Chandye thank you! I tried a couple of small projects to get the feel and a few easy techniques down. I'm on the big things now, I waste too much die due to arthritis in my hands that's my biggest issue. Thank you for all your great videos I love seeing all your creation behind you
The double process is pretty ingenious! I loved the first version though, perfect for Canada Day!! I'd love to see you guys do an interpretation of the Canadian flag, I bet you could come up with something super cool :)
I have so many questions !!! How did you keep the white parts of the shirt white ? Where did you get your bottle from ? And how do I keep my tye dye colors from merging into the white of my hoodies or shirts do I air dry or do I not wash the shirt after ? Help sincerely tye dye lover
Thank you for sharing 🥰🤟🏻❤️ lovely. My mother was a seamstress here in Jacksonville Florida and she would make clothes for author Murray’s and would set color with vinegar water have you ever or do you set your colors in your rinse water
With this type of dye (fiber-reactive) you really only need an alkaline environment which is provided by the soda ash. Apart from that it takes a few hours for the dye to react fully and we don't use vinegar or other chemicals to set the dye.
Can you tell me the exacts names of the red and blue you use? I use Dharma, Pro Chemical and CC but am having a hard time finding a red without an orange tint. Thank you and great work! Your videos really inspire me!
Thank you for watching, we typically let the dye cure for a few hours, we find that overnight or about 8 hours gives us a great result with strong colors!
Sure! I recommend checking out our step-by-step guide which will explain the entire process. You can find it here : www.chandye.com/how-to-tie-dye-a-shirt/
Hello! To make this pattern we first do a complete tie-dye process for the first spiral. This means that we dye the first spiral and let it set for a few hours. When that is done we rinse and wash the shirt. When the shirt is clean and the first spiral is completely done you can repeat the tie-dye process from the beginning for the new spiral. Soak it and wring it out and you're now ready to fold and dye a new pattern. I hope this answers your question.
Heyyyyy, How do you keep the shirt so white? When I washed the shirt, the white parts got stained by the colorful water, like a washed out red, so now doesn't look as beautiful
You have to be careful how you rinse it. I like to just dunk it in cold water which instantly stops the dye from reacting. Open the shirt underwater or under cold running water and you should be fine.
I'm wanting to try tie dye with my nieces. Watching lots of videos about it. I'm wondering, how long do you have to wait after putting the dyes on shirts?? But I'm still going to try.
That is super amazing! It made me think of Resident Evil at first. A *tie-dye Umbrella Corp logo* would be the coolest thing I've ever seen!
YES!!!!
I enjoy the Resident Evil games!
That would be awesome.
STARS...
It is so satisfying seeing his hands crumple the fabric also a tie dye heart eyes emoji would be cool to see!!!
Dude you totally are Swirl making wizard . Perfect pleats on point !
Wow, thanks!
That's a new one on the spiral. Thanks. Would love to see a tutorial on the shirt you were wearing too. P122 I'll go look.
My sister got a tie dye kit for her birthday, and this channel just showed up on my suggestions page, this design is definitely very cool

Somehow this looks very cool

What's the music in this video?
I love tye-dying. Enjoy watching your videos. Do you sell you t-shirts?
Not at the moment, sorry.
So nice.. May I ask for how many hours you will let the dye cure?
Thank you for watching, we typically let the dye cure for a few hours, we find that overnight or about 8 hours gives us a great result with strong colors!
@@Chandyehow about using soda ash is it advisable to soak it more than 24 hrs?
@@naokazumikamiya6807 You don't need to let it soak into soda ash for 24 hrs, only about 20 minutes is fine
@@Chandye thank you for the tips.. Really love your vids I want to learn more about types of design
@@Chandye what do I soak it in? Does water work? Also what is the minimum amount of time you can wait for it to cure?
Where do you get the big bottles of dye
Do you have a website where you have step by step processes for tie dye
Sure! I recommend checking out our step-by-step guide which will explain the entire process. You can find it here : www.chandye.com/how-to-tie-dye-a-shirt/

You need to let the shirt sit in a warm room (at least 70°F) for 8 hours up to 24 hours.
Well alright!
Why is the color so much lighter after drying?
Because some of the dye gets washed out when rinsed
What kind of soda and dye do u use?
Bravo
Muito lindo seu trabalho
Parabéns. Gostaria de saber qual a quantia tinta que é usada.
Lindo de mais😘😘
Keep doing it but with the rainbow
Gran idea gracias
Cool
And that period sis =D
Is it just me or the red dye literally looks like an actual blood
How that's got to be hard
I love this guys designs but it’s just a shame that when they’re dry, the colours aren’t vibrant.
