Yeah the technical part is not too complicated once you wrapped your head around it, but the part where you try to make it look good is always the hardest but don't give up ! it takes time and practice.
@@_alfredjerry I displaced the stalk with a plain effector set to deformer mode and I used a matrix to control where the effector should be applied on the stalk, I just made a quick example here : www.dropbox.com/s/4ahsx3hittrhugw/Stalk.c4d?dl=1

Hi Luis, that's true it wasn't that easy to loop. In theory it should be possible you'll just have to animate your camera to follow the plant growth and find the loop point. I didn't find a smart way of doing that I just looked at the first and last frame in C4D and try to find a good loop point manually. You can use the shortcuts shift+G and shift+F to quickly alternate between the first and the last frame of the timeline.
You already need to export the leaf animation to alembic for this setup to work so you could import that abc file in another software, also I'm pretty sure you could export the whole final scene as alembic as well.
You'll have to delete the other leafs by selecting their polygons and delete them, you also need to make sure that the axis center is in the right postition
Why the fuck is my bend de-former not bending my plane like its doing your Geo??? Its flipping the whole object rather than its polygons. I'm checking all the boxes you're checking as well.
@@PierreRpn Thanks Pierre. Seems like the bend deformer didn't work the same in past versions. I upgraded to S25 and now it works. However, the time Offset parameter now doesn't work in the plain effector. I've tried a step effector and time effector and still nothing. I made sure to set animation mode to fixed in the cloner like you did and still no avail. Is there a setting I missed? Edit: I got the offset to work, but Only by applying the connect object to the cloner and not the alembic file. But now since its not alembic, the jiggle deformer wont work. How are you getting your scene to work dude???
@@YouAlreadyKnowBabi If you're using an alembic like in the video make sure to uncheck animation and keyframe manually the frame number it's at 1'55 in the video. The plain effector will only offset keyframe animation.
@@PierreRpn I appreciate the answer my g. I did that. Still doesn't work. The only way I can get this rig to work is to not bake it, keep it parametric and the connect the whole thing at the end and add the jiggle. I sincerely don't know wtf is going on. I've followed all the settings and nothing works the way you're showing it. :'( Could I send you my scene file? If not no pressure. Thanks for the video and answers regardless!!
Short, to the point, delivering great content, no nonsense, this is how tutorials should be . Thankyou for this great tutorial
Thanks !
this looks MUCH easier than it actually is... Spent an entire day to make it work, and still Can;t reach this result...Not gonna give up though!

Thanks !
@@PierreRpn I hope you'll do more like this.. nice work
This is the real breakdown, not just showing the wireframe and done
you just have one tutorial. Your teaching skills are on point. Make more of this mate

WHERE IS THE REST OF MY PLANT
any idea on how to make this loop? I made the mistake on thinking it was going to be a lot easier than it was

Following along w this. When I change the Cloner from Play to Fixed the animation still plays no matter what I do. Any thoughts?
Nevermind, found the step I missed.
@@midlet was it the keyframing of the alembic 'frame' parameter ?
@@PierreRpn yup, great tutorial by the way and thanks for responding.
Hi! I'm having this sam issue, how did you fix it?
Hello what 3d software are you using???
Hello, this animation is done with Cinema 4D and Redshift
i just downloaded same file but this file is not one leaf. how can make this file into one leaf like you? please let me know! thank you!!

@@PierreRpn actually I've followed your tut and finished btw how can I make stem growing? right now its empty please let me know!
thank you!

Make sure the yellow arrows of the bend are in the same direction as mine, I find the bend deformer to be quite intuitive sometimes
