In 89 through 1990 I sailed on a NOAA research vessel, and for most of the time, we spent 10/11 days at sea and a weekend in port. It was a great job, especially when we came into Pensacola on Thursday. The Blue Angels were practicing, and we had a free airshow all to ourselves, at sea! It was a magical moment for me. Please God don't let this be forgotten because it was so awesome.
Absolutely Love this, mainly because of the Blue Angels! My Dad was a "Blue" in the late 50's & 60's, he was with the engine maintenance of the planes. Best Time of his Life!!

Ever since I was a kid the Blue Angels have always been my favorite scene of any air show!!!! I got to meet two of the pilots at the Rickenbaker airshow last year!!! They are my heroes!!!!!!!❤
I come from a Navy family, so every time I see this video my heart swells with pride and patriotism. We live near a major airbase, and the Blue Angels were here recently for an airshow. We stood in the park for a couple of days leading up to the show and watched them practice. I swear they were so low over our house I could see the rivets on the bottom of the wings. Their show was amazing!

I used to be a Marine Engineer on the NOAA Ship Whiting in the late 80's/90's. We came into Pensacola every other weekend on Thursday afternoons. The Angels practiced then. I can't tell you how many times I saw them practicing as I was coming into port. It was a very very good memory.

When I was a very young boy my Dad placed me on the shoulders of a Blue Angels Pilot's shoulders and he lifted me into the jets seat. I'll never forget that. Dad just passed away and Mom will pass tonight after suffering for death by natural causes. Very sad to say the least but this video is uplifting...

I love our own RAAF Roulettes, The RAF Red Arrows, The USAF Thunderbirds and my Favourites without upsetting the Guys and Girls above who are legends as well of their Precision Display Teams and of course the Blue Angels are right at the Top of my list. I have seen them perform whilst on holidays once and what a sight they are from the Very Start. The Starting Narration and the fantastic walk to the aircraft and the Precision of the start up to taxi and take off and then the Brilliance of Their Display sends shivers down your spine. The Song Dreams is so Apt to this Clip its unreal. The F18 Hornets are also such an Awesome Aircraft and their is something about them. Is it because their Naval Aviators at the Pinnacle of a Flying Career thats truly the best of both Worlds being at Sea at some Stage obviously and in the Air and knowing that these Guys and Girls would be catapulted off an Aircraft Carrier and thren land back on that Vessel takes a Unique Set Of Skills and it shows in what they do. Love it, Brilliant All Round. I have run out of ways to address their Splendour and Perfection with all the Superlatives already they have Achieved in Life. Absolutely Brilliant !!!. Been to about 3 of their airshows within the past year, I know a BUTT TON about them, definetly deserve the respect they get. I'm also VERY happy that people from other countries get to enjoy our demostration of the F-18. Also, its the Superhornet instead of Hornet. They changed it back in 2020.

I remember this video from back then. My father's cousin, Dennis Wisely, was Commander of the Blue Angels 1980-81. I saw them perform in Lakehurst, NJ in 1981 when I was a kid.
This was the last thing that would catch my father’s attention before dementia took him to a different reality. He was a pilot all his life and this video was his final connection to his past life. He has been at peace for 4 years now almost to the day and this video popped up on my feed.

I researched this and it is one of the hardest top three jobs on the planet to get. You literally have to be number one top of your class in everything since elementary school. And number one in several Aviation schools including Elite Aviation schools you have to be the top in. Even to be considered
Saw Top Gun as a 7 year old. Spent the better half of my teenage years researching the process of getting into the Naval Academy and graduated my high school with a bid from my local Congressman. Went to orientation in Annapolis and got measured by staff there after I informed them I wanted to be a fighter pilot. Found out that I was too tall and would not fit in an F18 cockpit and was told that I could always fly helos. Got assigned to NAPS and decided right before school started that I would go to my local State college. Every now and then I come back to videos like these and wonder, what if.

Found out that I was too tall and would not fit in an F18 cockpit and was told that I could always fly helos. Got assigned to NAPS and decided right before school started that I would go to my local State college.
Every now and then I come back to videos like these and wonder, what if.
