    I went to an abusive boarding school like she did from 15-18 yrs old. Im 34 now and it still bothers me. I also didnt talk to my parents about how bad it was there for a while. Thankfully the school I went to has been shut down so no one else will suffer there. Thank you Paris for being brave and opening up and letting others know they are not alone. I wish you healing and happiness.

      Gosh I just feel horrible you went through that, I was a bratty teen and so was my older sister but I'm so thankful my mom, although not the best mom ever, did the best she could and raised us at home in a loving house. I just can't imagine being raised like that, I'm so sorry you went through that.

      Obviously, the continuing vacations. "running away" ,,, excessively spending $$$$$$ on things, clothes probably never worn, men, strange friends 🤔 etc etc.THIS accounts for how the so called abuse made her. Very possible. Looking for satisfaction in all the wrong places.

      Paris is a spoiled brat. The school probably gave her some fetching up. She can't be trusted. Clubbing and drinking her life away. Now she has children. Dogs were more her style. Kids grow up. Then what? She never grew up. Never had to. Take responsibility, Ms. Hilton.

    It breaks my heart how her parents organised for people to basically kidnap her and did nothing to help her - poor girl must be petrified to sleep. And the fact that they don’t take ownership and apologise for the nightmare they have given her to permanently live with makes me so frustrated and angry for her. She is still being silenced because she doesn’t talk to her parents about it. Probably because they will blame her. Awful. Just terrible parenting on their part. They could have managed that intervention completely differently.

    • @MayJade001
      @MayJade001 2 роки тому +1

      How could you not develop serious trauma experiencing something like that. Imagine being kidnapped and thinking your parents are complicit... not knowing where you're going and what's gonna happen to you. And then add on the abuse she suffered at these schools. Her parents fucked her up so bad. Her entire career, her entire public persona was created out of the need to get that love, affection and attention externally because her parents denied it unless she conformed. And as long as Paris can't break free from that power her parents still hold over her she will continue to struggle. Paris is infantilized to this day you can see it by the way her mother is taking over the wedding planning completely disregarding Paris' wishes.

      Ok but to be honest she was an out of control rich teenager with the resources to completely go off the rails. I don’t agree with what her parents did, but I think they were just trying to help her and I think her parents were only doing what was in the best interest for her. I don’t think her parents knew, exactly how terrible it was, and if they did I don’t think they believed her at the time, because she was known for lying. Things are different now, we take what kids say more seriously now, even if they are lying, but in those times it was just hard to believe those prestigious centers were abusive; given how much they cost.

      @samie7025 2 роки тому +2

      Right? Idk if her parents were trying to help her. But there are a lot of complacent parents like that out there & it’s crazy how money does nothing for abuse & makes it worse giving abusers more control… No matter what socioeconomic class we’re all from, it just gives toxicity more power based on the person. Terrifying… A lot of these organizations are there for money as well.

    • @lilygarner8463
      @lilygarner8463 2 роки тому +7

      +esmee_c “out of control” I think she was just being the average teenager. But of course, she has “Hilton” as a last name and her mother Kathy is desperate to keep a pristine image of her family. So she was an average teenager with greater pressures to act a certain way.

      Totally agree with you! I think also that Paris still thinks that she went there because she deserved it,because she was "wild child" (paraphrasing her mother's words). Kathy said once that sending her in that school was the only chance they had as parents to "save her". And maybe deep down Paris don't want to talk about this with her parents because they would tell her"but you were so out of control we needed to do this"..

    Dear Paris! I have followed your life story now for quite a while and have noticed how much you simply love nature and the peace and tranquility it brings. Your life in the fast lane has no space for that. Why I say this, is because I am a lover of nature in it’s purest form… you are such a lovely person… try and make more time for being in nature… cancel some of those “plastic world” events that exhaust you! Go for long sunset walks with Carter, and camel rides in the desert and come and visit one of the beautiful wildlife reserves in Southern Africa… and bring the doggies! God bless🌹

    I think her mother was too occupied with high society to be able to manage her child’s troubles. Therefore she got sent away by however means necessary. I doubt her father has a backbone than to stand up to The Almighty Kathy Hilton. I watched one of these episodes where Kathy was legit serious about taking back a wedding gift because they weren’t using it the right way. The sheer panic on Paris face explained so much. It was quite evident that Kathy and her control over Paris is a major trigger to her anxiety and depression. Paris needs to learn to set boundaries with her mother. BIGTIME!

      I disagree. This is a clip not a full hour long session. Do you see her holding back? She is being very open and vulnerable as if camera isn’t there. Therapy should be private if therapist & his client agree to it. She is showing her journey to heal from trauma which many people suffer from and don’t know how to do it or think therapy can work. They definitely have sessions off-camera and he checks-in because he’s a damn good therapist. Can everyone do this or should do this? Hell no. And from what I see, they are being very responsible with how it’s shown.

    Why recording therapy sessions that are supposed to be intimate experience??She just deprived herself of that. And the therapist is soooo much in his head. Actually not therapist, more counsellor. For watching exquisite therapy sessions watch "Gloria"with Fritz Perls and Carl Rogers.

    Wow, yeah, unfortunately, I can image some. I went thru my own period of such trauma. I realized many years later after watching an Oprah episode that the reason that I was still experiencing this trauma from time to time was that I was still in the presence of my abusers. It"s like holding your breath every time they walk in the room waiting for them to leave so you can exhale. Even though, I was virtually over it and survived anyway by the grace of God, I did learn from it the heartaches of what a broken world can sometimes look like. So try not to take it personal even though it was. That's developing a thick skin. So my intellect now understood, however the residue of the abuse and trauma I experienced showed itself in the immature habits of it"s behavior to survive. That is why it was hard to separate. You have to overcome the bad habits of those child like manifestations of your abuse. How awful baby. But your good now. Your grown and survived and did it. The people in your life that may trigger your memory, if not able to get away from them in your life does have to be addressed like it finally is, but then you now have permission to let it go in terms of your own self justice finally being somewhat served. Your true justice will only be in Jesus Christ, but you have your freedom now. Your on the right track baby keep going. Let go and let God. Refuse to entertain any more thoughts as they may appear from time to time and soon you'll see a new beautiful life unfolding in front of you. Love you Paris. Be brave. Enjoy this beautiful life ahead of you now. And if ever u need to make a turn. Use your tongue as your utter and glide your turn as you've been doing so gracefully all along here. You have permission to say no. And don't look back. XO

    Surely her parents must have known, the rich have the resources to know things the average wouldn't, and if they really didn't know the parental instincts should have kicked in when who ever suggested kidnapping her while asleep in her room that's trauma for life...

    This therapist is effectively re-traumatizing her. Asking someone to talk about traumatic content is actually incredibly re-traumatizing and unethical. Him bringing up the moment she was kidnapped is the opposite of trauma informed care and so disappointing.

      Also just asking “are you safe?” and trying to convince a person they’re safe now completely ignores how the nervous system is affected by trauma. Of course Paris, a multi millionaire, is physically safe, but when the nervous system is traumatized you can’t just snap into a feeling of safety or convince your brain you are. Ugh this is so frustrating to watch.

      I don’t agree. Therapy is a safe place to voice your hurt and fears without judgment. To go through something so hard you need to at least talk about it at some point and say “ this happened to me, it hurt me, it may not have been fair, and it still haunts me”. He gives her a voice where before she had to feel the fear and wasn’t allowed to say anything. All these years she has probably never talked about it. In young trauma you think “ well thank God it’s over , I’ll be okay” and that is what she said. Later the trauma and memories resurface or you are able to see how it has affected your life. She needs to examine it and feel it safely in order to accept it and learn that she can examine it and overcome it. That bad things happen and people find ways to be resilient, which is much easier with help. One of the factors that determines levels of resilience is having one place of support. He is letting her know he understands how what happened was so traumatic. It has probably been white washed all these years by her family. Finally she has someone that sees the injury and wants to help. It’s like a child showing you here boo boo and liking wearing a bandage. They can see the damage, get empathy and see how the bandage helps them heal and be strong. I can’t imagine keeping that bottled up and thinking it was her fault.

      @The Bath Tree he's going too fast, I agree she needs to confront the issue with provo and her parents, he has some very valid points but he's taking her through everything too quickly jumping on issues he already spotted in the documentary and trying solve them, it's very one sided its all coming from him
