Actually I found them a while ago. They're really hard to see, but they're the 1x1 round studs placed on the ball IN the hand pieces. From the camera angle you can't see the right one but you can see the left one on the other side.
Maybe it's like a backpack-stool so he can always sit down and insult people but when he's at home it combines into the middle of the throne so he doesn't have to take it off.
PSA: The Solek/Matoran-related jokes in our comments have gotten increasingly out of hand; therefore, we are banning them in order to preserve the integrity of our comments section. People that continue to make these jokes will have their posts deleted and will be blocked from commenting on our videos. Thanks for your assistance in this matter; the joke was funny for a short time, but it's time to put it to rest.
+SOLEK MASTER RACE It's true. We have to let go, brother. Also, please don't ban me either just for my stupid username. The "joke" got waaaay too out of hand. The Soleks have spoke. I'm lookin' at you medicscout...
at he end of the video it says post your own top ten bionicle disapointments below, I think it should be combo models. just a mistake I found, great top ten cant wait for the next one!
The "Makuta Nui" combiner model appeared in the Maze of Shadows videogame. It was labeled as a "Graalok Ash Bear" for some reason. Some fans even thought the combiner was an Ash Bear.
My personal favorite combiner set is Takutanuva. The additions to Teridax's form from the Takanuva set make him look like a gigachad version of a Makuta when you compare it to the regular Makuta sets. To me, the Makuta and Takanuva sets merge really well in this combiner, both in form and function. The set has decent stability and looks pretty cool as well IMO. (Not to mention, as a bonus, it's another combiner set with some lore and story relevance, even appearing/featuring in the Mask of Light movie).
I am sort of surprised that some of the original combo models from the rahi in 2001 weren't on this list. Sure, a lot of them were pretty gappy but still the Kahu bird and the Kuma-Nui were pretty cool! The Rahkshi Kaita were always interesting to me too, although they did look kinda weird. And on the topic of 2003 Takutanuva was actually one of my favorite combos since it pretty much took Makuta and made him even better, especially incorporating the big bulky toa body in the build.
Ultimate Dume was 2004. Although out of the smaller sets, actually I liked the combo of three of the matoran that made this little scorpion (really can't remember the names right now). The Toa Metru combiners were just odd, especially the Nuju/Nokama/Whenua combiner that used the axes for the mouth.
Guys, banning commenters for harmless jokes are not conducive to a happy and interactive audience. I don't even know what these 'Solek/Matoran' jokes are, but if they are not somehow legitimately hateful or harmful in some way, I would offer that you are probably just hurting yourself by banning these people. Those commenters you ban are participants you lose, potentially forever, and they may not even _want_ to come back if you gave them the chance, because banning is such a distasteful needless overreaction. Memes are okay. It will die out when it dies out. It doesn't have to be funny to everyone. I doubt it was flooding out any comment threads of people who wanted a serious conversation.
I'll re-emphasize the caveat that if they are really actually forreal harmful then this is a fair response, and I'll concede my comment's validity hinges on that particular point which I do not have the time to look into right now.
+Andrew Brown The spam clutters up the comments, to the point where you can't find a lot of good discussion without it being interrupted by a Solek joke. I've been in numerous comment threads that have been derailed because someone will use "Solek" as interchangeably as "your mom" in response. And additionally, if the only contribution these people are able to give are just repeating this "meme", then I'm fine with not having them contribute. I have no problem with cutting them off, because they're not helping me or themselves out by trying to overdo something like that.
+Andrew Brown You're not looking at this from our perspective. You're not aware of the jokes themselves, so you don't really know how big of an effect they've actually had, and that's perfectly fine. You need to try and understand, though, that we're trying to build and cultivate a community where people can have fun and crack jokes, sure, but can also have the ability to engage in topical discussions with people. Posting a Breaking News video about important BIONICLE news and having the comments immediately swarmed with dozens of spam posts creates an atmosphere that isn't pleasant for us to read and isn't pleasant for our viewers to be in. We've gotten messages from many people who informed us that they had stopped participating in the comments section because anything they said would get buried underneath all the spam. It was absolutely ridiculous. We let the joke go on for four months because, like you said, memes die out eventually. However, eventually we all determined that since we personally didn't find it funny, it was ruining the integrity of our community, AND it was actively driving people away from engaging in the comments... what purpose did we really have in letting them stay?
Got a bit of an error at the end; you've accidentally written "Bionicle disappointments" instead of "Bionicle combos". Then again most combos are disappointments... Also it's funny how a video of the best combos comes out the same day as we got a video telling us why clashing colours are bad.
But you know what's even bigger and better than all these combo models? Knowledge. Joking aside, I never owned enough sets to build one myself. If any of you want to see some great 2015 combiners, check out the "Wildlife of Okoto" and "Wildlife of the Ancient City" threads on BZPower!
+Rtkts U probably already have the answer, but ill say it anyways. According what I gather, it's basically just fans using one of the members of TTV's hatred for a certain set, which is Solek, just to bug him.
***** Oh no, it wasn't because of that. It was really a joke, but for some reason it became this spamming tool used by fans on the comment section all over TTV's videos. Eventually other fans used sets similar to Solek to "counter Solek's influence". The spamming got to the point the channel needed to react.
my favorite bionicle combo modal would be the toa kaita i knew that everyone hates the toa kaita but i like them they were awesome back then at least they did not have left over torso pieces and they work really well
as someone being a Bionicle fan since I was 5, I actually didn't know the kardas dragon was a thing until now. however I do remember building something a few years ago that resembled the kardas dragon (the fenrakk head and all) and it stood at about 1.5 ft tall and was one of my biggest Bionicle creations
I would've thrown Voporak somewhere on the list. I remember fusing Sidorak, Roodaka and Keetongu together into that monstrosity was so much fun. The design surprised me positively, especially by how complex the legs were and additionally by how they had a pre-piston leg support incorporated. It was a bit of a shame the designer ran out of parts after designing such smooth legs. The upper torso and arms don't really continue the aesthetic.
Imagine how surprised and happy I was, when I bought Brutaka, then Axon then Vezon & Fenrakk and didn't know that they combine into huge, amazing looking dragon :D
Omg, the nostalgia is real. I got the kardas dragon as a birthday gift when I was like 8 years old. I used to love it so much... I wish I still had it built today
I haven't thought about Lego, much less Bionicle for multiple years, all of a sudden this shows up in my recommended tab and now I wanna go out into the garage and see if I can find the box of Bionicle parts again.
I would ad 01 takua as an honourable mention. Yeah there never really were official instructions for him, but you litterary just take jala's body, the blue nui jaga's mask, and maybye onepu's disk, and you have the almighty man himself.
I remember an ice spider combo model made of 2 or 3 of the Toa Hordika that was pretty cool. The 1st gen cow and spider models are neat too, there's a bunch of good small creature combo models
I'm honored you used that photo of mine of my modified Kardas =D took it so long ago didn'teven think I'd see it in someone1s video. Also no honorable mention Voporak the Time Hunter? o.O
I’d consider the Kardas Dragon a set of its own.people don’t call Irnakk a combo when he’s just The tracer, the Drifter, and the beast amalgamated into the embodiment of Skaktii fear, but the Coherent final boss(es) of 2006 is considered just a combo
Kahgarak is by far the best combiner model. I mean, it's affordable to buy all the sets needed to make it, the colour scheme (White and blue) is elegant, and it doesn't stand out as an obvious combiner model, a key flaw of all the other combiners.
I think my fave was Takutanuva, the only set where the classic Toa body is so fully imbedded in other parts that you don't even notice it's there without careful examination.
I don't completely agree with how high Ultimate Dume was on the list, but I can't argue at all with the Kardas Dragon being number 1. That thing is awesome.
I actually got the special set as a gift from one of my friends! Unfortunately, I wasn't a bionicle fan back then. I still have the pieces though! including that mask!
Kardas is the best. I built him intending just to see what he looked like then take him apart, but I've had him together for months because of how awesome he is.
In Germany we say: Have you been drinking varnish? Number 4 is by far one of the most obscure combinations in the Bionicle universe. And where do you rank Voporak (10203)? Greeting
Botar is responsible for the loss of my Brutaka! Damn you Mom, why did you have to throw away the instructions 😭 I built Brutaka, had him only a week, then I found the Botar instructions online at a friend's house. He was so cool, but when I wanted to desconstruct him and remake Brutaka and Axon, I didn't know how to make him 😭😭
I personally think the Solek thing went out of hand a long while ago. Seriously, all you see in the video comments are "solekians rule" or "the tanmanian empire will conquer!". Thanks for your action, that has been bugging me for a while.
Great video! I actually want to make some of these combiners now XD. Also I am not trying to be nit picky but at the end it asks "What are your top 10 Bionicle dissapointments?" I think you guys took the wrong outro lol
Honestly, the War Tortoise is the second best bionicle character. The first? Good guy. Why? He was the first character i ever got, with war tortoise being second as a gift from my mom's friend's son.
I had the kardas dragon as a kid, but I never realized it was basically 3 sets in one and now it's too late to do anything because it's been lost to time
Imagine the epicness if they had included the Kardas dragon in The Lego Movie, that thing would have been an insane addition!
Trimondius Oh please, it would have been awesome in any scale, to see Toa Mata Tahu or maybe matoran Nuparu in the master builder conference.
Hunter Foxx99 Would have been even more epic if Kardas had fought Emets super construction robot XD
+HORRIOR *picturing Emmet flying in on a raging kardas instead of his construction mech*
+HORRIOR Dissapointed that the Kardas Dragon was not the final boss of Bionicle Heroes (2006)
+AztecTheJest hey, they might just use it in the second movie, assuming they make one. I mean, wow.
How could you neglect to mention Voporak?
I love the Kardas Dragon, as it's the most awesome thing ever.
I CAN'T FIND MAKUTA NUI'S EYES
Ditto!
They're the orange "hand" pieces right above the mouth. It took me a while to find them too XD
Actually I found them a while ago. They're really hard to see, but they're the 1x1 round studs placed on the ball IN the hand pieces. From the camera angle you can't see the right one but you can see the left one on the other side.
Apparently the hand prices are the eyes but I don’t rlly see it
He had eyes?
I've seen pictures of the Shadowed one sitting on a throne, but how does he do that with a foot coming out of his ass.
maybe that foot is the actual throne
Yaoyao9 so it's a stool?
Maybe it's like a backpack-stool so he can always sit down and insult people but when he's at home it combines into the middle of the throne so he doesn't have to take it off.
AverageGuard Lucas I think it's his tail...

+The TTV Channel I thought you guys were Americans...
I would ranke Dume way lower, that thing has serious stability issues.
The Kardas dragon sits proudly on display still, that thing was rad
The "Makuta Nui" combiner model appeared in the Maze of Shadows videogame. It was labeled as a "Graalok Ash Bear" for some reason. Some fans even thought the combiner was an Ash Bear.
Never cared for Jovan combiner model it looked more like if Nuparu had a Battlizer mode.
Thats the problem I have with sets having the same masks, I just cant unsee Nuparu in that set
Actually, there is a Nuparu Battlizer - the Boxor. I call on the power of undead Av-Matoran jumbled together!
My personal favorite combiner set is Takutanuva. The additions to Teridax's form from the Takanuva set make him look like a gigachad version of a Makuta when you compare it to the regular Makuta sets. The Kardas Dragon is my all time favorite combo model, and he has been reigned supreme as king of my figure shelf for about 5 years now
CARAPER THE RAPPER

Ahhh. A man of culture

No Voporak? That thing what went longer to the gym than Axon.
I would've thrown Voporak somewhere on the list. I remember fusing Sidorak, Roodaka and Keetongu together into that monstrosity was so much fun. The design surprised me positively, especially by how complex the legs were and additionally by how they had a pre-piston leg support incorporated.

My favourite combiner was definitely that spider creature made from Bahrag Queen's. I also like the Lava Hawk and Voporak.
Omg, the nostalgia is real. I got the kardas dragon as a birthday gift when I was like 8 years old. I used to love it so much... I wish I still had it built today

Do top ten bionicle matoran (that are STILL matoran) and they didn't turn into a toa please.
+NobleSpamMan L.H. I agree
Yes! like Garan!!!
+MakutaofAnarchy Yep, Garan: the James Franco of New Tehktra.
+Andrew Homer haha right?
Yep, and Seth Rogen is Jevik.
If this was around after JTO, Makuta would totally be number 1.
Naw, I'd say Kardas would still be Number 1.
I would ad 01 takua as an honourable mention. Yeah there never really were official instructions for him, but you litterary just take jala's body, the blue nui jaga's mask, and maybye onepu's disk, and you have the almighty man himself.
Ooh, thanks for using Reller in this video even though it was only for about 2 seconds! :D
Great video!
Zivon and the made from the Toa Metru are two of my favorites
I remember an ice spider combo model made of 2 or 3 of the Toa Hordika that was pretty cool. The 1st gen cow and spider models are neat too, there's a bunch of good small creature combo models
I knew that Kardas Dragon as going to be #1!
Even tho Slizer isnt a canonical part of Bionicle I would#ve loved to see their combomodels. They were awesome
not to mention, for botar, that he has a pretty good story and stuff. he's relevant, which is nice.
and kardas is obviously first because it is the coolest thing to ever come out of lego imo
5:13 for the sake of keeping this PG lets just call it a tail
I'm honored you used that photo of mine of my modified Kardas =D took it so long ago didn'teven think I'd see it in someone1s video. Also no honorable mention Voporak the Time Hunter? o.O
I’d consider the Kardas Dragon a set of its own.people don’t call Irnakk a combo when he’s just The tracer, the Drifter, and the beast amalgamated into the embodiment of Skaktii fear, but the Coherent final boss(es) of 2006 is considered just a combo
I think that Irnakk isn't always referred to as a combo because he came with unique pieces that didn't come from any of the other piraka
For G2 fans: I really recommend building the kopaka Uniter and gali Uniter combo model. It's by far my favorite of them (except makuta of course)
Absolutely agree with the choice for #1. Have Botar. Working on obtaining Kardas. Botar deserves a worthy adversary
Now THIS is a video I can get behind.
Thank you for putting the most epic lego set ever conceived at the #1 spot.
In Maze of Shadows for the GBA, Makuta Nui was called "Graalok Bear" (at least with language set to german)
The Ultimate Dume was the only Bioncle set i completed. still have it to this day.
Kardas was so awesome :)
I think Takutanuva and the bohrok combination models also are worth mentioning.
I thought Makuta Nui was later used as the model for Graalok the Ash Bear
"Good Kardas... nice devastating monster. Are you my favourite engine of destruction? Yes you are."
Kahgarak is by far the best combiner model. I mean, it's affordable to buy all the sets needed to make it, the colour scheme (White and blue) is elegant, and it doesn't stand out as an obvious combiner model, a key flaw of all the other combiners.
I always had a soft spot for the Toa Metru combo models, myself.
I got the #1 set in a haul of bionicle will be selling it for the brickset value of $230 once i can get all the parts for it
I think my fave was Takutanuva, the only set where the classic Toa body is so fully imbedded in other parts that you don't even notice it's there without careful examination.
I always liked Zivon and the big combo of the Toa Metru, I think it's called Kerrki
I actually have number 4 build, I even got the mask you mentioned, actually baught that 3pack for that combination model.
I'm surprised that none of the Kabaya combo models were on the list. Especially the Rakshi combo models, they looked really badass
I'm talking about ultimate Dume
Kardas is the best. I built him intending just to see what he looked like then take him apart, but I've had him together for months because of how awesome he is.
what
no sand stalker? sentrakth? that combo of all 3 '05 titans?
OMG THE #10 ONE. IM PISSED. I HAVE TAHU, POHATU, KOPAKA, AND LEWA. I CAN BARELY MAKE NONE OF THEM
you do a great Cr1tikal impression
trinuma deserves a spott here!! as bad as the mistika are trinuma was a good way to get rid of them and make a cool order of mata nui member
Next will you do Top 10 Clone Sets?
***** Was that your top 3?
All 3 Bohrok lines
Well today I learned I could combine the only two Phantoms figures I owned... over 10 years later
The biggest problem with Botar that he was squished by Icarax and replaced with a nameless clone who became a mere troop transport.
I'm pretty sure the largest official combo is the shape-shifter bitch from the third Metru-Nui book. She combines all six Toa Metru.
3:28 I really love his look to be honest.
The Lawa Hawk is also e rally good combiner imo. I mean yeah It's small and that significant but It's e pretty solid figure.
i made a combo of carapar and mantanx that was a pretty cohesive look, despite being more or less one wearing parts of the other in a fairly basic way
I have so many extra parts. I'm gonna make some of these guys.
In Germany we say: Have you been drinking varnish? Number 4 is by far one of the most obscure combinations in the Bionicle universe.
And where do you rank Voporak (10203)? Greeting
Needs more Spiriah & Ultimate Dume love.
My favorite combo model is Trinuma because he is really cool looking
10:17 it looks a bit different than original Kardas, did you change him by yourself? :P
Jovan is the same than Nuparu. I think a cool combo is the Lava Hawk, made of Velika, Piruk, and Balta. It's look great with few pieces.
For once in my life I knew what was going to be in this...
Botar is responsible for the loss of my Brutaka! Damn you Mom, why did you have to throw away the instructions 😭 I built Brutaka, had him only a week, then I found the Botar instructions online at a friend's house. He was so cool, but when I wanted to desconstruct him and remake Brutaka and Axon, I didn't know how to make him 😭😭
how dare you insult the eternal glory and perfection that is squid launchers
Where can i find the official self mocs of the TTV cast, i rlly like them but i'd rlly like to see them as a whole...
How Kaita forming is connected to Mangaia chambers (if so, why?) or not? Why no other Toa
besides Mata/Nuva have tried it?
The makuta Nui was supposed to represent the Ash bear that shows up in the first movie and attack Jaller and Takua
6:00 i think dutch colors would be a more logical choice since it also has orange
I personally think the Solek thing went out of hand a long while ago. Seriously, all you see in the video comments are "solekians rule" or "the tanmanian empire will conquer!". Thanks for your action, that has been bugging me for a while.
i personally would have put the Voporak combiner titan in this list, its my most favorite 2006 model
Great video! I actually want to make some of these combiners now XD. Also I am not trying to be nit picky but at the end it asks "What are your top 10 Bionicle dissapointments?" I think you guys took the wrong outro lol
Death of Botar
Totally forgot about Botar!
0:15 I see you oh great one
Honestly, the War Tortoise is the second best bionicle character.
The first? Good guy. Why? He was the first character i ever got, with war tortoise being second as a gift from my mom's friend's son.
Voporak was one of the better ones, in my opinion. It had a streamlined build, with a very interesting and useful leg design, and fun features.
I had the kardas dragon as a kid, but I never realized it was basically 3 sets in one and now it's too late to do anything because it's been lost to time
OMG I HAVE EVERY SET FROM THIS LIST
The list is good, but I would've picked the Zivon instead of Makuta Nui. That combo model might look clunky, but menacing as well.
I was thinking, what about Irnakk and the one with all the Toa Metru? (whose name i SHOULD remember but dont ;p )
Kinda expected to see the Kraahu or maybe the Kralhi here.
My number 1 favorite combo motel is Irnakk.
