Simply breath taking.
While I never regretted backing this game once, this show simply made me ever so more proud to have done so.
Because you are stupid sucker.
King Kull go back under your moma dress kiddo
i backed a game a few months back. I haven't played much due to the fact that there's just not a whole lot of content yet and the game really isn't optimized at all. I have a gtx 1060 3gb, Ryzen 7 1700 with 16gb of ddr4 ram. I don't think my hardware is an issue but the game simply does not run well in its current state. The pvp mode and my hangar run like butter at 80-100 fps. I must say i am starting to get very restless now for the wait of 3.0. It seems like there's more time and effort spent on these elaborate productions for these tech demos. I must say i am not too knowledgeable about the development of this game. I try not to get too invested at the moment especially seeing how they have a long history of delay after delay for their content. Maybe one of you guys can briefly explain to me when 3.0 is slated to release as well as the content shown is this demo. Thanks
Jim Jorgensen I was reading an interview with a 3.0 evocati tester on SC subreddit. He said don't realistically expect 3.0 to be released till January. And that actually seems around right.
Honestly SC is going to disappoint you if you expect it to be fully released before 2020 or late 2019.
Chris is a perfectionist, he will knit pick at any issue and delay the schedule until it is spitting shine perfect, only to add more features when more potential is revealed due to the hard work they pulled off.
Basically this is the kind off game where everything possible in video gaming will be cramped in. FFS I remember the atv episode where they decided to add crew recreational facilities to the javelin capital ship to make it more relleastic, and ended up deciding to add functional and playable airhockey tables, and thr ability to convert the cargo bay into a playable basketball court. Crazy!
On the down side, you can imagine how long we will have to wait.
Jim Jorgensen For the footage shown, if we go by last citizencon, then expect the build with shown footage to go into evocati exactly 1 year from now.
I'm not going to lie to you or anyone, if you expect it anytime soon, then be prepeared to be sorely disappointed.
Seriously , what i wanted ! they put it there ! I LOVE YOU CHRIS , i hope keep living & playing inside the city before i die
SUPADRAGEN Same ! This game is the future.
That's a very terrible analogy.
the iphone of video games is no mans sky
lmao
No mans sky is quite enjoyable with the 1.38 patch,...totally different game
This year's Citizen Con was completely unexpected. It blew me away. Congratulations to CIG. You're making gaming history and I'm proud to be coming along for the ride however minor a role I might be playing.
making history for all the wrong reasons.
I never expected to see something like this when I played Elite on my humble C64 as a child. What a time to be alive.
same here
Where's that guy that said they wouldn't make full-on cities ? I hope sir you were watching that presentation. Amazing city design, very jelly of you people with top-end graphics rigs.
Fiasco3 my rx480 is waiting to test this game.
Yep this game won't be out before 2020 at least. Which is not out of the ordinary, especially for a game of this scope. So you have time to save up.
save money. wait at proper release. Until then there will be gtx800000000 by that time.
I'm freaking blown away... This is amazing...
I know right! Somebody get Angry Joe to finally review Star Citizen 3.0. Hes the one who introduced me to Star Citizen, therefor, he outta review 3.0 lol.
Matt127ful He reviews full games not Alphas, no matter what game it is.
Maybe not a review but i want to see his reaction
This is the best Star Citizen livestream so far, I'm proud to be a backer of this project
Edit: Dumb typos. . .
Me too. backing the game during its kickstarter in 2012 was the proudest moment of my life as a gamer. Nothing comes close.
Cloud ffvii PKP And you have to be a very innovative and entreprenarial person
FFS another twat!
Haters are hating but we will be the ones who believed in this dream and who have make it happens. >:)
I'm a day one backer and don't believe in the hype. They showed jaw dropping stuff last year too that's not in the game.
If this game really turns out great, plays smoothly, and includes all the features they've shown... I cannot imagine playing any other games.
Psyphon X I second that thought. Like... with as many planet's and entire star systems, black holes, discoverable alien life forms as the plan on making, if they actually manage to pull off everything that promised at launch... this will be THE game. How would it even be possible to get bored of this?
So many systems done, so many tools done, so where is this game? Where is this Squadron 42 ?
How this people showed this things so many years ago and still we don`t have these things on the game
@@raf.nogueira you should update your game :)
SQ42 won't take place in a personal home on ArcCorp.
big "IF"
this is the most impressive amazing thing i have ever witness !! amazing job I love you CIG and I love Star Citizen !!
This keynote was 3 years ago but honestly I still think the view of Arccorp from space looks cooler in this presentation.
Having our own apartments for solo players would be nice!
☝
Well theres hotels...
It's not like they would ever run out of space, so yeah, that'd make sense.
Nerd Council yes I know but the Pioneer offers guild base, even though they have hangers. I would like my own apartment also. Maybe I would have to travel on a monorail to the suburbs for example
They talked about doing something like that (not building the spaces but renting them). As well as being able to rent warehouse space to store stuff. Apart from our hangars.
I think by now I've stopped looking at this like a game and more like a work of art.
It's a whole other dimension
It really kind of is.
They've still got the "we're going to make it fun" attitude, but they've also got the "hey, check THIS out" side as well.
And what we have to check out is incredible.
same for me
why not both
It’s my second life
Not gonna lie, after the Gamescom presentation i kinda lost my hype, but this really brought it back! Really good presentation, look absolutely awesome!
Yes their amateur role-playing contributions was not great or smart.
I was there with you. the last year killed my hype. But I have to admit, this looks amazing. Well done CIG! Hopefully it won't be another 14 months before we can play it :D
Because one presentation fails production wise does not change how the game will turn out.
Not going to lie, I already lost all hype for this game. I dont even know the state of the game, is it fully released? or just a small part playable? When is the full product releases, never ever? Cuz thats it feels like, the game will be never ever.
It was because of the god awful acting wasn't it? I got really put off by it because I couldn't stand watching the gameplay while the three muppets were reading from their scripts and failing miserably, this is absolutely fine for me with Chris just talking about the game but what would be extra good is if they just released the recording without any commentary at all then we can just sit back and admire everything.
There's a great game here, it just goes to show you it doesn't matter how good it is if you do scripted acting and so on and don't present it properly it can ruin everything.
I had to read all the twitch stream comments while stuck in traffic. Didn't have enough signal to watch. Oh my god. The comments, it was like the perfect novel. The excitement you guys created for me is incredible. Now I finally can watch the main event & see it for myself
Me too!!!
And how did it live up compared to the comments?
Oh it was amazing in my opinion. Best citizencon to date.
@Omricon we shall never know I guess... :(
Much to come! :) - Awesome work!
ArcCorp looked much cooler in this version than the new one.
Love the Bladerunner inspired look. Also the music is really amazing! And no major hickups during the presentation either! Well done!
We must find them! We must recruit the infamous hacker 4chan to save them!
there were some npc's playing the floor is lava in the customs area and there was a funny physics bug with the nox near the end but beyond that it played flawlessly. Easily their best presentation so far.
Oh the music!!!! thanks Pedro!!!!
My pleasure, sir! :) hard hard work but you guys are worth it :)
it's our pleasure!!, I can't wait to hear the rest of the soundtrack!!
Pedro Camacho Really incredible Pedro. It has so much heart. So far, to me, your art is the soul of Star Citizen.
Agreed, CIG needs to release the music mixing engine so that we can forever listen to this wonderful music!!!
Pedro you nailed it with the planetary entry music, SC wouldn't be what it is without your music. I love it!
annd people saying this game will end up like no mans sky, seriously! this game is a whole new level!
Because of video rather then finished product, again another taken in scammed moron.
Don't feed the troll, he is posting on multiple comments how this is a scam...
NMS doesn't even compare. It would be like a mini-game compared to this. Maybe during your 10 minute flight to another planet, you can pull up one of your ships displays and launch a miniature game of NMS to make time pass. lol I know that won't be a thing, but that's how miniature NMS is compared to SC
well, we haven't seen any gameplay content yet or ideas on how to fill the scenery with content. Its nice, no doubt about it, but after a while it will be totally forgettable and irrelevant if there is nothing to make you go anywhere.
I would fill these planets with city-hubs = corp-hubs and let the players do the work (setting up shops, services and compete with eachother), but thats just me.
If EvE showed us anything it is that players WILL do this if given the chance.
King Kull hey troller guess what, how about you spam your negativity else where. ;)
This is so Blade Runner-esque. I love it! :D
And I hope they add some easter eggs, like the Jedi Temple form Coruscant. That would be so cool.
Stanley World Not if its just a similar building to the Jedi temple...
You are right , CIG really need a copyright infringement lawsuit ....
He compared it to Coruscant, but every city planet =/= Coruscant.
Can be just as easily compared to Terra from 40k, Korhal from StarCraft, etc.
The idea goes back to ancient times.
just a reminder: George Lucas got his inspiration for Coruscant from Trantor, a planet wide city in Isaac Asimov's "Foundation" (first book published in 1951) series.
Totes worth it thou....
THEY DID IT THE ABSOLUTE MAD MAN PROCEDURAL CITIES.
Indeed! That tech came out of nowhere. Sure they have talked about it, but I didn't know that they were this far.
I knew it could theoretically be done, but I've never actually seen anything like it before. The amount of work that went into making something this detailed and visually distinct on that scale, it just boggles the mind.
Spyppoy the guy who did it, marco corbetto actually made the tech for full cities with fully explorable rooms 7 years ago with cryengine. They nixed the idea for crysis but now his gloves are off and he gets to put his skill set to full use at CIG.
German engineers...
Procedural cities aren't new and it's not actual gameplay in-game.
I don't think I can ever play elite dangerous again.
One of the most toxic communities I ever encountered, can't even raise valid concerns like how it cost over 200$ for the full game or how it's always online or how basic features like leaving your cockpit are being sold as DLC. Looking forward to losing myself in Star Citizen and forgetting that game even exists. Wish there was a way to delete it from my steam library.
Phil W the division is hands down the most toxic experience for me but yes most people I ran into that played elite hardcore were dbags more often than not for whatever reason. The player faction that I ran with was cool, really cool but every other group I encountered took pretentious to a new level for sure.
joe parenti Call of Duty has the most toxic communities I've ever encountered, can't even talk astrophysics and genomics without being called a nerd.
Call of duty, halo, the division, CS GO all have pretty horrible communities. Elite is tragic because first of all it's a space sim and we don't have thousands of them like we have shooters, but also secondly I can see what the developer is aiming at. It's like star citizen but in a more realism and simulator focus which is interesting.
They have so much good ideas, they just don't do it properly and when you try to point out ways it can be made better it's like you are a heretic, you get a witch hunt. If you can't take valid criticism then how will you know what's wrong or how to improve it?
Dude what are you talking about ED is 100,000 times better than SC
Presentation begins at 12:35.
The dream is alive and well I see

I think his comment got deleted or something before I saw it, what did he say?
ollierkul he laughed and called you a degenerate.
lol ok xD
egoistball is bestball
Just wanted to say your presentation was excellent. You guys are really stepping it up. Proud to be long time & large backer of the game.
*cough sunk cost fallacy
This is no longer a game in development. It's possibly the most expensive Art project now. This is Art.
THIS IS WHAT FUTURE LOOKS LIKE
so amazing... i want to cry :'(
Try never, you are being scammed by crook who will never finish this money pit scam.
Yeah Chris Roberts and CIG just set a new Bar that I don't think any game will come close too for sometime....Amazing job! Exciting times ahead for Star Citizen!!!!
King Kull worst scam in history then
HEY THIS IS LIBRARY
The YT video compression really hurts, I was at citizen con (just came home) and it looked even better
This is... I don't even have words to describe how amazing this is. I knew this game would be great despite all the naysayers but this is above an beyond what I was expecting. Great work guys!
4 years later......
This stream had everything! Well done Cig! And well done Pedro!!! Without your awesome music the experience would not be the same it's a mix made in heaven!
I think the whole thing is extremely impressive with or without music... But I am glad you liked it! :)
The in-game music is AMAZING !
Thank Pedro Camacho. He makes music for them.
THIS, is the future of gaming right here!
Yep! And people want the game to be released and they are in a hurry to play this. Sure we all are, but this is the good thing that CIG doesn't have release date and puts more content in to the game. Like Chris said: "I don't want to make a game, I want to make THE game".
How this people showed this things so many years ago and still we don`t have these things on the game
@@raf.nogueira ALL of the things, that were shown are currently in the game.
@@cookedtomato All I see is static bugged NPC citizens, I don`t see citizens travelling from one planet or space station to another. Or specially dynamic generated first person missions....
@@raf.nogueira Well yeah, but the things they showed: the planets, the ships etc are all there. I’m not saying that the game right now contains 100% of the things that they showed. What I’m saying all the major things are all there. Would it be nice to have not crappy AI? Yes and maybe someday we will, but all it takes is waiting, CIG isn’t perfect, but they changed how they market this game. Just compare this CitizenCon to the most recent one.
This is why I have backed over $1000 into this game!
Thank you for supporting the game :) We fans are the ones, who make this game come true.
I'm just a basic backer, but you guys make even more possible. I wholeheartedly thank you.
You're welcome
LOL
so much better than the gamescom presentation
yea i thought SC was done for with that disaster presentation, but this one kinda saved it lol.
I love that travel takes a lot of time, really adds to the atmosphere.
I also love how you always have to worry about being interdicted .
Just a suggestion, in far lying systems there should be risks for jumping, maybe you end up in the wrong location or your ship blows up or something, just to make the far of regions remain somewhat unknown
You will die often enough from gamebugs ;) So there is no extra random danger needed. :D
of course, there we be no point in exploring the game universe if you could do it in a few hours.
SanitoeterSCC If theres enough bugs that can still do that even after PTU release... guess I'll die :D
Will Brown meee tooo. People should just accept it as part of the game.
Btw that quantum travel part was just held on loop to make way for the city tech demo. Notice how the presentation was over just when they hit a planet? Also they cant make quantum travel that long else it will take the fun out of exploring for most players
And people thought the empty Beyond Good & Evil 2 planet demo was impressive..
this blew BGAE2 out of the universe
Giratina143 well said 👍👌
It died before it even released
It's all good baby!
omae mou shindeiru !
It is so sad we can't actually fly through the city... so tragic.
mum and dad..its been fun.
(puts on VR)
I highly doubt star citizen will have VR. Maybe after its release when we have future gen tech
Sempy They said VR will be a thing but not a priority.
It will have it at *some* point.
Negan savage brah
MIND.....BLOWN!!!
I wish Arccorp was like this now.
Elite Dangerous is that rock you kick around when you wait for your car dealer to hand you over your new luxurious sports car to drive in. Obviously SC is that car :D
Even the Twitch chat was in awe. A rare sight.
Chat: The buildings are just scenery right?...
Cue a lengthy demonstration of procedural building interior/exterior generation on a planetary scale
EDIT: Clarification: i.redd.it/ddouaejl5ouz.jpg
Even though they are able to do this, There wouldn't be much to be gained from having interiors in all the buildings.
For the most part, only landing zones, Space stations, and outposts will have interiors.
Makes sense, hopefully the landing zones will be plentiful and decently sized.
I doubt every planet will have every building able to be entered and do something in there
I doubt it too but they got the right guy for it if they want to go that far (he already had worked on generating procedural cities with full interiors)
dude14377 It may be possible with what they showed to give them procedurally generated interiors. Might not be uber impressive but making them have miiiiiiiggght work.
what I hope is what this tool will be used for pllayer housing , imagine if you could pick or maybe order and asemble apartment or house
yeah they are just scenery, or do you RALLY believe that every single one will have a door to enter and rooms with things in them, lol if you do you must seek help
Amazing, Fantastic, a dream comes reality (digital) , from Star Wars to Blade Runner, inspiration is multiple! Made by Fans for the Fans... Sci-Fi, my childhood was waiting for it!
I've been waiting for 30 years a game like that!!! I can wait few years more now!!
Thank You Chris, and CIG's Staff!!
Its AMAZING
If only i could make myself digital and live in it lol
Daniel Reilly greetings program
We need fulldive VR
VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
you want to live in an entirely empty world? sounds like a terrifying existence
Night Goat 10:1 npcs. Could hire nexus 6 pleasure model npcs.
I have to say, no game in my lifetime has made my jaw drop and leave me stunned as many times as Star Citizen has. I almost want to cry. My sci-fi dreams are finally going to come true, and no game is pushing the bar as much as CIG is. The publishers really should be ashamed of themselves that it had to take an indy dev to create all of this ground breaking technology. So short sighted on revenue, that they fail to see the possibilies. but at this point, who cares. SC will leave them all eating its dust.
I'm not sure I will buy another game after this one launches. At least until Star Citizen 2 comes out, anyways.
I honestly think this could spark a real change in how publishing is conducted for large scale games. SC has proven just how profitable it is to make a game the right way, and I have no doubt it will continue to be very financially successful for years to come. When publishers realize that not cutting corners can still be very profitable, that could mean drastically positive changes for the whole industry
That's kinda unlikely, for better or worse. Star Citizen is an industry veteran's shot at making his Magnum Opus, and thanks to peculiarities of crowd funding he's more or less managed to get a blank check with no strings or deadlines attached for his passion project. Chris Roberts has basically broken all the rules of project management and thrown industry standards to the curb, which is generally a sign that you're either creating a masterpiece or a trainwreck.
I'm personally leaning towards the former since the game's funding at this point more or less makes it too big to fail if they've been smart with their money (and development shows no signs of stalling), but 9 times out of 10 this sort of story ends in disaster.
god we still have this restricted area bullshit everywhere today ...wish I could fly trough the streets like this and land everywhere :(
26:07 oh my gosh, this scenery!
wow arccorp looked so beautiful back then. Now it's just huge fields of metal.
@@naemek9675 devs said it was faked, what you see is a texture from that distance. What's in game now is what you see at a distance is exactly what you see at close. I liked the look of arc corp in this demo more than what we have now.
This makes me proud to own the aurora!
Same
GorumGamer lul
Aurora is best ship in the game
What sucks is that I'm still waiting for THIS ArcCorp in-game. Don't get me wrong, ArcCorp in the actual game is still an amazing achievement, it just doesn't look nearly as good as this, up close, where you can fly down pretty deep, or even from far away above the planet. Same can be said for Lorville. It doesn't look like this.
I'm sorry, but you really are nitpicking way too much...you've had the game long enough that you think your lack of wonder from familiarity means that it's not good, but it's just...you're familiar with it, thus it's not amazing to you anymore. It's a big achievement what they've done with the planets with seamless entries and reentries
@@tevarinvagabond1192 Doesn't matter, it's not what was sold.
@@alexn8219 What are you talking about? Nothing was "sold", this is a game being developed..things change. You think during the creative process for any other entertainment/art mediums involves just keeping one set thing for the entirety? No, ideas change, things evolve..
THIS. IS. ARC CORP!
*kicks dude into city abyss*
Underrated
Mother of God
Love how much more open this AC feels. Now I know why I hate the ingame version. This one really kicked off my love of SC and the ingame one does not have the same feel at all. I love the boot up detail of the MFDs in the ship. Also lost in current game. Really hope this version comes back somehow.
I really hope citizencon 2949 is going to be this exciting! (it'll be the first citizencon that I experience as a star citizen myself, as I've started playing april of this year!)
Oh it will be hype don't worry
have fun CosmicD!!
Take as long as you need CIG, I am happy to wait for this vision, however long it takes.
don't give them ideas, the game might come out in 10 years now lol
Goosebumps. They really did a fantastic job. Too bad it won't run on my toaster oven of a computer lol.
This is why i love Star Citizen, no bullshit, if a bug happens, they recognize it, like the nox physics, they made fun of it a lil, and they showed the engine for game building...its just insane how big cig's balls are to be able to be real with the fans.
you'll love Star Senior Citizen when it releases in your retirement years.
@@purefoldnz3070 lol this guy cant stop
Amazing demo... Very cool of CIG to do a realtime space travel! That’s how i want to play.
The talent in the CIG team is incredible. From music to tech, passing through design, this demo is a work of art.
Chris Roberts = Elon Musk of video games
Someone at CIG actually said that the Consolidated Outland's founder Silas Koerner is an equivalent to our spaceX's Elon Musk in terms of "pioneering".
But Chris Roberts actually brought us in space at this time :P
I genuinely believe if Elon knew about Star Citizen, the project and what it wants to achieve, and the passion of people supporting it, he may well support it, maybe even throw in some funds to help the project even further. Share research and data about space, rockets, the idea of interplanetary logistics to colonize Mars and beyond, which can then be implemented into SC to make sure the simulation is as good as possible. Same with NASA, although their funding was cut severely by Trumpanzee, their knowledge and data is priceless, if they would share what they know.
Once Squadron 42 is released people will call Elon Musk the Chris Roberts of Electric Cars, and Musk will feel flattered.
Actually, Elon Musk made a video game, so Elon Musk is the Elon Musk of videogames.
What a time to be alive.
This is what I wanted out of star citizen... being able to go down to a planet into a city, tracking down a target within the city, while being completly free to go wherever I please
If you are able to bring this into real multyplayer, you will take large steps ahead in the gaming industry
It's already MMO. What else do you want?
Bad presentations or not. When they can deliver something like this you gotta give them credit.
You guys did it. This is definitely the biggest game designing challenge that I have ever seen. I couldn't believe while I was watching the livestream. Pretty proud to be an old backer of this game. See you in the verse!!
Arc Corp here looks so much cooler than what we have now. I would really like if they brought some of the elements here and added it into the current game. The aesthetic here feels a lot more original whereas the current one looks bland in comparison. The buildings are so eye catching and the smoke stacks really add to the atmosphere. The outside landing pad is actually super amazing.
They needed to adapt it to Procedural Generation. But the current locations are Tier 1, so there will be iterations in the future. Now, I'm waiting for Nyx and Pyro systems though.
@@steveredstone1711 Ya I made my peace with the fact that it is never going to look like this. The tech they have now cannot handle this. I watched a few of their other older videos and found that it had to do with the LOD's (honestly disappointed when I found that out. I quite like this design. I do think they adapted some building design for Hurston). The simpler design now works with the tech whereas this was only a demo of a small section. With that being said, once icash and server meshing are a thing...even if they keep this design, I would love it if they expanded on it. Add the traffic and open up areas to go visit both flight and on foot. With the new clouds they showed, it could bring us closer to finally having rain on Arc Corp...fingers crossed. What I am most excited about if I am too be honest...this demo shows that on a smaller scale, they could build incredible things when not limited by the server and how big the open world is. Which means that the single player - when it does release hopefully maybe - could be so much more amazing and immersive than what we have right now.
@@sean2811 Do you think they will ever upgrade Arccorp to what they had in the showcase ?
@@Star-bp5jj No unfortunately. I say that for 2 reasons. 1, they wanted to cut down on LOD's so they chose a simpler design so that it had better LOD's. 2, CIG likes to go for designs that look realistic and sometimes that means more grounded in reality. The cobbeled together design of arc corp here is a design choice that they may never make again. I do think some elements have been added to hurstons buildings. Either way, if they can atleast allow us to walk around arc corp a lot more and make more areas explorable and have it rain at some point...that would be more than enough to make up for it :D
@@sean2811 In the Server Meshing panel Q&A they said that : ""As we refine the technology and move from static server mesh to dynamic server mesh, designers can use this technology to have larger and more interesting areas (such as larger colonies or large ship interiors) with more AI and player characters. Server Meshing could open doors to gaming experiences that our designers have not even thought yet!""
Do you think that means that once the server meshing is installed we could have more impressive areas like ArcCorp 2017?
I think CIG just had a mic-drop moment. Even if you only caught 10 minutes of this (which you'd be really missing out if you did) and still have your doubts.. Then you're not only blind but please at this point just move on to pre-hating something else. I had goosebumps and it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to this kind of stuff. Bravo CIG.. Bravo!
it is a simulation. what can you do wrong with a simulation.
inb4 some people will go around and say "ermagawd this is boring" because they werent expecting a simulation.
^this
The Reason i even backed for this back in 2013 was because of the simulation, not SQ42
i mean i dont have anything against a single player game. it is just, people like to argue that CIG develops useless, fancy stuff for "hype", but forget what the whole vision was about to begin with. it is the dream to abstract reality as close as possible, or at least to the extend never done before. And that dream probably anyone had at one point or another when playing games or watching a movie. Which is why we hear the world fidelity and scope a lot. if people wouldnt want this, people wouldnt "hype" it as much.
I dont expect the gameplay to blow us away. I expect something that works for what the game wants to be.
You're insane Chris. I love it.
So many systems done, so many tools done, so where is this game? Where is this Squadron 42 ?
March 2021 - Yeah he is insane for never releasing this game after almost a decade in development. What a cashgrab-project.
It ended up not looking this good. =(
I don't understand. How did Arccorp and Lorville look SO much better back then?
To right, ArcCorp in this video looks ten times better and more life like then the ArcCorp of now.
Most of this was faked. That's the reason they didn't turn around until they got to orbit. I think they'll continue working on it. It'll look much better once there is volumetrics, and NPC ships flying around.
Think about how kind of awful our performance is now. Both server, and client.
And then add more stuff to the game, it would be far too much until we can get the Gen12 renderer at least up, let alone the full Server meshing to help make sure those also don't choke hard.
@@vorpalrobot it doesn’t
So, for a while I was struggling to find out why it just doesn't look the same - until I realized: This Arccorp and Lorville are real scale, 1:1 to how they would be IRL. In Star Citizen today, everything is 1:6 scale, as 1:1 scale would be crazy for performance and the time it'd take to travel between locations (like Chris said, 8 minutes, much longer than it is in-game today at the same speed. The station was also about 100km up, which is really high in today's scale). Unfortunately this kills a lot of things: Planets from orbit look weird, clouds look weird, terrain and the atmosphere looks weird, the distance you can see looks weird.
Unfortunately unless they find a way to make this a lot more performant and a lot easier to travel in, we're going to be stuck to 1:6 scale for some time.
Still watching this, its amazing how far weve come since then.
Applause to all the amazing people involved in this titanic project
The amount of work you guys put into this project is mind boggling. This is going to be the best game in history, at least for me.
If only it actually looked like this
Amazing stuff from CIG. A stunning work of art and reminder of how games should be. Well done (recent bought a Freelancer DUR - can't wait to explore) 🤘🏽
Make the seat for the aurora swivel to get in and out. It's stupid you have to squeeze between the window and the seat to get in.
It's a budget ship. Jesus.
So is the Mustang.
Mind blown... truly incredible. I never thought that level of realism was possible. Also, please put xenomorphs in this game. Sincerely, everyone.
Whats the opening theme played at the start of this stream?
Star Citizen Soundtrack - Main Theme by Pedro Camacho :)
Just search "Pedro Camacho Star Citizen" in UA-cam. Lots of stuff! :)
incredible work CIG! simply stunning!
Reminder that this city is now playable in star citizen as of update 3.5.0
People saying "Imagine this at 4K", "imagine this at 144hz".
I say: "Imagine this, with upcoming improved VR and Full Dive..."
I agree with you , my oculus rift is ready XD
much much much much much better then expected..
GTA 5 Looks so small in this game already.
tbh, GTA V is a small ant compare to star citizen the city is massive compare to GTA V.
Just Cause 3 is 4 times bigger than GTAV
GTA 5 has a big enough world for what kind of game it is but more importantly I think it has the most fleshed out one. The problem with procedural generation is you usually start to see clear patterns especially if you play the game for a while and in a game with so many huge planets procedural generation is the only way to go. In GTA 5 for example the whole world from one building to the next seems unique enough not to find any unusual patterns anywhere while I've spotted them here pretty quickly. Anyway as far as procedural generation goes, this is from what I know by far the most advanced footage of any procedural generation I have ever seen and its gonna be an epic game. GTA 5 is my most played game and I love it however Star Citizen will go far beyond that from everything I've seen so far.
I'm utterly blown away as to how far everyone at CIG has come to make what will be a masterpiece of gaming in the near future. Even now in its current state, it's one of the most beautiful games ever conceived in my opinion. Keep up the amazing work everyone, this will truly be the game of the future.
P.S.
Please add amazing energy magnum style pistols. Need my space gunslinger gun ;P
So they made this and then everyone was like woah cool and they were like alright well we are going to make it completely different and way worse
Well, they’re still making it. Running an isolated demo is entirely different than rolling it out across servers for hundreds of players interacting live with all of the mechanics.
@@daveyjoneslocker4703 I hope your right. If we can get this version of arccorp or better in the future then I can wait. If not then this was a lie.
A lot of people are complaining about how long it's taking to make this game.
1. They told you what you were signing up for when you gave them your money.
2. At this point, it doesn't even matter if this game never comes out. The sheer amount of innovation that has resulted from pursuing the dream of SC will reshape the gaming industry for good.
^ this
Still get goose bumps....I guess everyone that was there yesterday will understand
Hold up, this is a family friendly site. You can't just post erotic stuff like this CIG.
Going back and watching this makes me sad. I hope they bring back this level of fidelity in the future because right now while Arcorp looks good, it also looks rather generic.
Current Area18 is boring. Very closed, narrow, small walkable areas. Low poly red box buildings everywhere. Flat lighting. But there are great concept arts & test arts of current design. *sigh* CIG always makes worse in actual product.
These guys should partner up with CDPR for the S42 part of the game, since Cyberpunk 2077 is on development and CD is boss at making quality quests.
My heart rate is much higher than the player's in this as I'm watching this.
Just started the video and already have goosebumps again!
Thanks CIG you guys are the BEST !
Looking amazing! I already bought a couple packages but have to get a higher powered pc. Already battled in Star Marine and worked my way through zero g to my first craft on board an orbital station. Great work!
Its appropriate to say this now. Long Live Chris Roberts!
BRING ME MY OXYGEN I AM ABOUT TO PASS OUT!
* Bringing oxygen * Don't pass out on me!
*Pokes a hole in oxygen tank* "If he dies... he dies"
Sempy lol
very nice and never a disappointment with their live tech demo shows.
Good grief. Well done!
I guess ArcCorp we have at the moment is just a placeholder?
Nope, that's actually the new version. What you see in this video is a beefed up old version they made just for the demo. Probably to sell more ships.
It's the real version. The old one is the scale-up of V1.2 Arccorp, which was totally different back then. There will be iterations to Arccorp in the future.
uuugh!! T . T my eyes!! It's burning!! cant......stop.....replaying...video.
this made men every where cry of joy ... wacthing all those star trek episodes finally come to sci fi game super hyped super cool... thank you devs
