Another awesome job and a beautiful painting to go with it. At first when she was drawing it i thought it was gonna be a lotus flower but the sun flower came out great.
Ahhhhhhhh yes, once again my weekend has started out on a high note! I as usual picked up a few things, chuckled, and ogled. I was very happy to see ( Im actually lying here, Im frickin pissed!!) that the bump jigs were on backorder already, that certainly says alot. I finally sat at the adult table and ordered some Horween Dublin, it arrived yesterday, and I now can honestly say “ I get it”. There will be no going back. Now if my friggin jigs would get here lol........ Great vid man!
I have not yet worked with Horween Dublin. Been working through 5 hides I got from Acadia, which I rather like, though they are chrome re-tan hides they are lovely. Dublin is certainly on my list as well. I am with you @Glen Piro about the jigs too! I waited 2 days to order mine, and I knew I shouldn't have. Oh well! Looking forward to them arriving too!
@Ironforge, I shoulda pulled the trigger right away, I think they sold out within hours lol! I will peruse Acadia, but if its anything like the Horween, forget it. Night and day difference, I still am dumbfounded at how amazing the stuff is!

Mascon Leather Thank you for the quick response. As a beginner I find it interesting you dint have to case Horween. All of the books and videos I've seen about tooling leather say you need to case it or the stamps won't last long. I am definitely going to get some Horween once my skills improve. Really need to make one of those collars!
If you look at 6:40 it looks like hes adding some color. A lot of makers make their own edge concoction theres no wrong way just try some things and see what works to your liking. I add some dark brown fiebings die to mine
It's been driving me crazy, where did you find that center finding divider tool. I've googled every combination of words and images to find one. I've asked tool makers and they like the tool but can't put a name on it. Love your work. Jake

Hey! It’s usually all done by eye. Depending on space available vs size of particular rivet being used.

Pick up a centering ruler at a craft store. A lot cheaper than having one made.
Jerry Fox absolutely! (I’m Mascon leather). I have 7-8 centering rulers. Use them daily. Calipers are used in special circumstances
