The teacher's actions and explanations helped me a lot
Perfect! Thanks for watching!!
You know, You're the reason I started Leather work, I use Horween Dublin, I tried others, just nothing that I liked, maybe because I like your work, who knows. But I've learned everything I know from how you do your work. I Sell items, from time to time, If someone wants a wallet, I have some different models, and they pay me a few hundred bucks depending on what it is. Handmade, Handstitched, Quality Leather. I've made a few purses, None sold, I've only made them as gifts for the girls in my life, but they turn out great.
Keep going!
I am just getting started with leather working and I just discovered your channel. You have some of the best videos on UA-cam. I am very glad I found you!
Welcome aboard!
Whew! That thing is hosscat. Glad to see a new bumpin' and jiggin' video.
😆 right ?!?! Thanks for watching!!!
I appreciate your craftsmanship. We're losing the culture of pride in quality craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for that !!
You are a slight of hand magician! Work smarter not harder. Beautiful work as always.
😆 thanks!!! 🪄
Arthur, Arthur, where for Art thou Arthur. Missed you my friend. I had to go to rehab since I didn't have my Mascon/Chloe fix. Good to see you and hear that thunderous voice of yours. Great project. Keep those videos coming. Cheers!😃
😆 I just spit my coffee!!! Thanks for the support!!
Read it. Thank you for all you do!
Thanks for watching!!
"Read It". Just getting started with leather crafting. Love your videos.
Thanks!!! And thanks for watching!!
Read it. Great video. You make it look so easy. Many thanks.
Thanks for that!!
"Read it". Great video Artie. Love the tips and specialty tools.
Thanks and thanks for watching!
Read it. Great work, good sir. I really enjoy your work/vids. Thank you
Thanks for participating in the poll! 😆
And thanks for the kind words!
Read it. Watching how fast you work using those bump jigs with your patterns finally convinced me. I just ordered a set for myself. Great work as usual.
Thanks, Juan! We appreciate the support!
Read it. Another great video and the Mighty Macbeth is awesome! You are using a new straight edge and square and they don't seem to be in the list. Looking forward to the reveal. Thanks!
Thanks for the “read it”!!
Yes. Foreshadowing the new rulers we’ve been working on for over 10 months! They’re coming. 😉
Read it. Cracking video as always. You're all so spoilt for choice with supplies and tools there. Virtually nothing on the list is available for shipping to the UK and there's not a huge amount of stores here. The last few bits I bought, I had to get shipped from Tandy in Spain! Can't even get Barge so I need to find an alternative.
Our “mascon & ZeeBee” tools will ship to the uk. An alternative for barge in a pinch is weldwood cement. Wood glue at lowes? Home Depot? Hardware store? It’ll work.
No measuring? Man you're like a renaissance man to get it that accurate. You're badass kickass you know that? Of course you do. Awesome work.
😆
I adapted what I know from house building, carpentry work, etc. and made it work for me in leather. Jigs and patterns. Thanks for watching!!
@@MasconLeather you're officially apart of my zombie Apocalypse Team. Lol.
You have been getting better and better at your work. Not a drop of your coffee kicker hit the mat. Well done!
😆
Love the new paw tattoo. #Respect Angel from The Bay
Thanks !! It’s very special!
Read it. Thanks for the video. I love watching your content.
Thanks! And thanks for taking part in the poll!
Great video! I imagine someone like Andre the Giant carrying that monster around! Fantastic work!
😆 yeah. She’s a beast!! Thanks for watching!
Great tips about just measuring the patterns once and then using the bump jig to square the material up. I think squaring up is what gets a lot of novice creators. I still like to skive everything by hand and I've gotten pretty fast at it.
Perfect! And thanks for watching!
Read it. What a beauty! Want to thank you, love your videos, love your work and watching you making those amazing wallets have pushed me to do my own wallets. THANK YOU for the inspiration.
Thanks for participating in the poll!!! And thanks for the kind words!
@@MasconLeather Thank you! All your tips are great, patterns out of cereal boxes.... Just genius! 😉
Exactly…. For generations, “leather craft” was seen as “difficult”. It doesn’t have to be complicated to be perfect.
Poor sciatic nerve! Great looking wallet Artie!
😆 right ?!? Maybe a breast pocket wallet
Read it!
Love the videos man, leaning ALOT. Planning to start my first project soon.
Thank you!
It's very cool work, hopefully I will learn from you soon. God bless you
Thanks!!!
I always read your descriptions. I've picked up a lot of great tips and I've bought some of the tools that you have shown.
Your designs are amazing.
Thanks !!! And thanks for watching!!
thanks for the tutorial man. as a learning leather worker, tutorials are one of the only reasons i still use screwtube
I’m glad you watched! Thanks!!
@@MasconLeather heck yea! I'm always looking for new ideas, techniques, and patterns/designs. I'm happy I've come across your channel and will be keeping an eye on it for more! Thanks Again! BTW you have got that burnishing and polishing down to a freaking art! And made me feel dumb for doing measurements and cuts in such a hard way... haha
What can I say 🤷 love your work your craftsmanship is outstanding 👍
Thanks!!
WOW that is thick! I bet it feels absolutely amazing to hold..... 😳 Maybe I shouldn't say it like that..... Great work as always!!!!!
😆 I just spit my coffee!!!
@@MasconLeather I nearly choked on my spaghetti,…
Great way of explaining with practical humor, I enjoyed this again, and again great tips for cutting leather with simple tools. Looking forward to the next video, greetings from the Netherlands
Thanks!! And thanks for watching!
Welcome back. Was wondering when you would be back with all the great leather work and tips and tricks. Was watching another creator just the other day and they were using the jig methods and thought of you. Once again nice work.
Thanks for watching!
As always pretty much perfection
Thanks for that and thanks for watching!
I save cereal boxes now and fillet the card stock from them for projects. Thanks for that tip and all the other stuff you show us. I mostly work with layers of Cordura but some of your ideas can transfer over a bit or be blended with some leather accents.
Perfect!!! Thanks for watching!
Love your work. Your videos is what got me into leather work.
I love that ! Thanks!!
F***ing awesome - and with one video you answered my lingering question of how thick is too thick, and completely removed my fears of ever trying it. Beautiful piece as always - went shopping for leather this weekend and the type of leather makes a huge difference in the outcome.
Thanks!!! Yes, the leather quality, tanning, and size matters.
Another fun and educational video Artie. Thanks for sharing the fun and your knowledge with us. Best wishes, Deb
Thanks! I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!
@@MasconLeather Read it, thanks Artie
Those rulers look sick! I'm really excited to get my hands on some!!
Thanks!!! (Foreshadowing there, with the rulers. Announcement and video coming soon!)
Fantastic work, you make it all look so easy.
Thanks!!! That’s my goal. Demystifying the process. We can make it easy. I’ve figured it all out. Thanks for watching!!
Love your videos, there tips and tricks with measuring and bump jigs is pure gold.
Do you have a video on your design process or pattern making?
Thanks for the great content.
Thanks!!! I have a designated “design” video coming soon. Yes.
@@MasconLeather looking forward to it.
Read it! Lots of cool info. Thanks.
Thanks!!!
"Read it" I like all the hints and tricks.
Thanks John! And thanks for watching!!
stunning as always! I don't know how people can carry around these brick like wallets but to each their own. looking forward to the next video!
Thanks, sir! Whatever they want,… I’ll usually do it. Unless it goes against some of my standards.
Agreed, I do the same. Customer is "always right"....
Excellent video as always. Dig the ink. Thanks for sharing that and your pups. Chloe is an energetic powerhouse. The work, editing and overall production value is top shelf stuff. Thanks for the inspiration.
Awe !! Thanks for all of that! Especially the kind words about Chloe. And noticing the film effort.
Такой толстый кошелёк никогда ещё не видел,но всё же круто. Приятно наблюдать как из куска кожи получается такой шедевр,браво мастеру 👏

I loved your video, im discorvering leather goods by you, so thanks for the share. 😁
Thanks!!! And thanks for watching!!
I’m so glad you posted again! Your my go to bro! I’m still practicing here in Sarasota Florida with all your advice. I’m sure it’s hard to post often but keep it coming!
Thanks for the support! Yes. It’s difficult, especially when each video takes 45 - 75+ hours to make. But I’ll keep pushing
Great video as always! Very nice wallet and good to see the pup…
Thanks, Johnny!! And thanks for watching!
Read it. Beautiful wallet as usual. Awesome videos and great tips and tricks. We all really appreciate them. Can't wait for the edge video in the near future.

Love your work mate, and thank you for teaching me the bump stop method!
Thanks for that!!! And for the support !!
New to your channel, but really enjoy watching you work. Make it all look easy!

And btw…. That is one hell of a beautiful wallet… and yes, it is a BEAST!!! But man is is gorgeous….
Thanks!!!
"Read it" great work as usual.
Thanks, Brandon!!
Read it. Thanks so much!
Thanks !!!
I love your work! Thank you for educating me! You make the hobby fun
Thanks for that! That’s my goal. It “CAN” be fun.
I've been checking your channel for the past 3 months... everyday ( even tho I have the alerts on lol ) hoping the next video was gonna be on what you use ( not pankcake batter, stay tuned lol ) to slick the back of your leather, you always get it perfect. I have absolutely no problems with my edges... I can make my edges look like they are literally coated in glass, but I can't ever get the back of the leather to slick correctly with Tokonole, gum trag or bees wax like everyone "suggests". It also ends up coming unfinished as I work on the project ( and I don't use cheap leathers either). I make my own burnishing cream for my edges... my own cocktail of stuff, but it's not very good for slicking the backs since I sand my edge work with sandpaper ( grits 600 to 3000 ). Anyways, great wallet as always and I'll still be checking everyday for that " not pancake batter video " ... because iam that frustrated with finishing the backs! Thank so much and have a great one
Thanks for that! I’ll get with it…. For sure. Keep an eye out! Getting edges is more difficult for most, so good job!
wow you make it look so easy
read it
Thanks!!! I try to show also, it can be easy. A little practice, throw out the old intimidating ways, and boom. Done.
your products are picture perfect, good stuff
Thanks for that! And thanks for watching!
@@MasconLeather I'm hooked on to your videos, good production quality as well. Keep it up

WOW, Beast just might be an understatement.... another cool video, Thank You for sharing the tips and tricks and your time spent making these videos! ✌also a BIG Thanks for including footage of Team Caption 🐾🐾🐾
Yes !!! Chloe rules this house! 😆
Hello Artie, do you have in mind to make a video of how to make the patterns? We are eagerly awaiting it from the master of leather.
Oh. Absolutely. A video is planning. All design and pattern making
@@MasconLeather Thanks Artie it would be great an honor to learn with you
Thanks for watching!
Chloe is a FAST little girl!!! She's precious….
She’s soooo fast. 😆
Excellent video as always. I learn so much by watching your channel, so thanks for continuing to put up content. I'm anxiously awaiting my pre-ordered shop anvil, I ordered it in Jan and I'm sure I'll get it soon. Thanks again for the great content!
Thanks Jim! And yes, it’s coming soon!! 😉
Try oiling that leather before using it in the skiver to avoid those mark, you don't have to use actual oil because they sometimes leave marks on the leather ( depends on the leather) to avoid that I usually rub my fingers around my nose and then scrub it where i want to skive and usually it works.. your skin produces enough oil for the purpose !
👍
Good evening, I admire your works, which are kind of simple, but so brutal.I would like to ask you a couple of tips if you allow. What kind of marker do you paint over the cut (I tried it with a construction, oil kind of wrong.)What do you apply to polish the fringe and how much more should the detail of the patch pocket on the wallet be relative to the wallet itself. I am grateful to you in advance. Sincerely Alexey
Thanks!!! I dye my edges. Leather dye
Great as always Artie, beautiful works of art.
What type of Knipex cutting tool do you recommend to remove rivets, snaps, snap buttons from leather that have already been installed and need to be removed?
This same tool with which you remove the burrs from the copper rivets is very powerful but perhaps to remove rivets it is less precise.
Which one would you recommend?.
Thank you very much for your help, I appreciate it very much Artire.
Removing? Oh…. I have no clue. It’s always a mess. 😆
@@MasconLeather Thanks
Great work. Awesome camera shots. Towards the end, why did you die the edge, then sand, then re-die the edge?? Is she still on break?
Thanks!!!! I was wondering who’d notice that. You’re the first to mention it!!! Occasionally, when dealing with that many layers, as perfect as it looks when first sanding, you see every tiny imperfection after dye. So the first dye shows every tiny flaw. And where it needs more attention. Good eye!!! (Olivia is now on vacation)
Lol don’t know if I’m last but “Read it”. Great stuff man.
Read it! Love your channel
Thanks !!!
Love the channel, bourbon, and nice watch. Is that a Laco flieger in the thumbnail/second half of the video? All the best.
If you can't afford the clicker press, buy the bump and arc jigs. They save a ton of time. Great production Artie.
Thanks for that! Yes, the bump jigs save hours too!! And much less expensive
Read it. Great video as always!
Thanks, sir!!
Recently got my bump jigs from you and now am interested in the square featured here, I've always had trouble finding a good square for leather work. I hate the ones with rounded or chamfered edges
Thanks for the support!!! This video was sort of a foreshadowing event. Announcement coming soon! Stay tuned!
@@MasconLeather go ahead and take my money now!!! I saw the logo on the centering ruler and square… can’t wait!
😆
Thats a chunky boi! Love it.
Thanks, Cody!! And thanks for watching !!
Thanks for sharing. Tokonole on your edges?
Thanks!! I’ll be doing a video soon on rear slicking and edges
Great Video and beautiful wallet! I would love to buy one of your wallets maybe even this particular wallet. How would I go about buying one of these off you.
Email me at artimus71@gmail.com
When you make your patterns how much do you typically space your credit card pockets?
Trial and error. That’s why I have 67 prototype wallets laying around.
I’d like a link to your ruler and square. They appear to be nice and heavy and have holes for making circles. Thank you for your videos they are very helpful.
The rulers were a foreshadowing Easter egg. New tools coming SOON!! The next video.
THICC! Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!!
@@MasconLeather always!
Dropped the video on my way home from work, perfect driving material 🙃😂 definitely been my go to videos for all my “tips and tricks”! Keep up the good work! 🤙🏼
Perfect!!! Thanks for watching again!!
I would love a link for the black L Square you use!
Exactly!!! This was foreshadowing for a big announcement! Coming soon with a video and availability links!
Looking forward to that Centering rule
😉 you noticed the foreshadowing…. 🤘
Long time no see! Great video!!!!
Thanks and thanks for watching!!
Outstanding
Thank you, sir! And thanks for taking the time comment. Is my car ready yet?? 😉
What edge dye do you use and is regular leather dye same as edge dye? Having hard time finding edge dye
Feibings dye
Another awesome video, nice to see them again!
Do you have the 36x48 cutting mat? They are so expensive, are they worth it, or should I just buy two of the smaller ones...
I have every size they make. 😆 on this table it’s 4 foot by 8 foot. Yes. One piece. It’s glorious!!! I hate having seams.
What is the white cream you use to smooth the back side of the leather?
Video coming soon on that
Can you explain what's going on/why around 2:45 -- looks like leather conditioner. What's the benefit there?
Video explaining that this week. Maybe Friday.
@MasconLeather sorry to bother you but can you drop a link for that big stitch chisel at 14:15? I need one!
No link. Kevin lee on instagram. Tell him I sent you
Red it and thanks for continuing making videos
Thanks for watching!!!
Have you/would you entertain the idea to sell wallets not put together already? Basically a kit. If so, i would definitely buy one.
I'm completely new to the craft and looking for some ideas to maybe make a living off it since my doctor wants to put me on disability. I guess is what I'm asking is what's the best way to start out in this craft?
You’ve started !!!
Watch my “behind the brand” video. I explain some there.
Asking for a friend, Say some dummy (new to leather work) forgot to stamp their stamp they had (and really liked a lot) on his OR HER leather project before they put it all together and gluing , & sewed the 3 piece of leather together. Would they be able to stamp it afterwards? Maybe if they put a piece of metal into the pocket behind the piece they wanted to stamp. Or would they end up messing all their hard work up? Once again asking for a very close friend ☺️ ps read it.
Tell your “very close” friend - yes. I’ve done it a lot. But !!!!!! This is Dublin and chromexcel. NOT raw veg. Raw veg has to be cased first.
Dublin and chromexcel take stamps with just pressure.
I actually made a small metal plate. That’s just the size to fit into any pocket, but large enough to catch stamps. Maybe 2” x 3”. Just shy of 1/8” thick
Slip under and let her rip. And tell your friend about all the anxiety they’re going to deal with at the thought of ruining 6 hours work with the stamp being wrong, upside down, etc.
Fun times !!! But doable.
😉
@@MasconLeather thank you so much 🙏🙏 love your videos. Take care 🤜🤛

Sorry bout that…. But I suddenly had the urge to burst into song… can't imagine why….
Th marks that the bell sliver leaves on the leather, do they go away
Is the leather you are using a pull-up leather
Marks are mostly hidden but yes, they go away. I’m using Horween Dublin
Question you only burnish with canvas?
I use wood when 3 or more layers. But always finish with canvas
This makes me wish I knew how to make patterns every time I watch lol
