Roger has 6 solo albums and he was lead singer and guitar player in his former band The Cross. Queens performances live are amazing and different from albums and studio versions. Freddie said in an interview live concerts are different from their albums. If you come to a Queen concert wanting them to sound like they do on their albums then stay home and listen to the album. Live concerts are supposed to be different due to excitement and getting the fans involved and it's a thrill to see them in action. Also in this Montreal concert listen to Roger sing his song I'm in love with my car. You'll enjoy it I promise it's great and his drumming in that song is incredible.

Freddie was really angry that the crowd had been told to sit still, and keep quiet, not singing along, because they were intending to use the footage to produce a movie. This was totally against everything that Queen live performances were about. See how often Freddie says "sing it!" and is so frustrated that the crowd is too intimidated by the bouncers to join in.
The concert was held over two nights, and they 'ordered' Freddie and the others to wear exactly the same outfits on both nights, so they could rearrange the sequence of numbers as they pleased. The short-shorts were Freddie's retaliation...
One of Deaky's best bass lines...
I do love your appreciation for Roger Taylor, as always, singing his heart out while never losing the beat on the drums! I always wonder where he got the energy, and when he found the time to breathe!
Freddie always said, it wasn't 'Freddie Mercury and Queen' - it was simply 'Queen'. Four equal partners who worked as a team.

Roger is the one who sings the super high notes in Bohemian Rhapsody. His range was almost as big as Freddie’s. Also Brian May, the lead guitarist, is one of the finest guitar players in the business. He actually made his own guitar and has made adjustments so that the instrument has a really warm sound ( the guy has a doctorate in astrophysics- this is no ordinary guitar player!), and has also invented some stuff with repeating speakers and other effects.

Hi Coach and Mrs. Coach, new subscriber here. I’m enjoying going down your Queen playlist and will comment more as I see more. You mentioned that the live version sounds different than the studio version. The band felt the the fans could hear the studio version anytime on their albums and didn’t believe it was right for the audience to pay to see their show just to hear the song sound just like the album. Freddie makes a point to do something different. You could watch them do this song at a different show and it will be different. They wanted their shows to be an experience for the audience and wanted them to feel included, which is why there is so much audience participation in their shows. This is why us Queen fans are requesting live reactions. No two songs sound the same when they perform live.
And yes, Roger Taylor is AMAZING!!

IIRC, this song was the first encore of that concert together with 'Sheer Heart Attack' (the second one would be, obviously, 'Rock You' and 'Champions'), which also explains why they were firing on all cylinders: it didn't matter if they blew their vocal folds up as the gig was nearly over anyway, they'd have plenty of time to rest (once they were done with partying, of course). But that also explains why they were generally relaxed (including the outfit).

Hey Coach and Mrs.,... actually the beef was with the photography company hired to film the two-night concert when they wanted them to wear the same clothing both nights and this was Freddie's answer to that... they had also told the audience to stay in their seats and stay quiet... can you imagine how that went over... Freddie's humor is quite unique...
Yes, Roger Taylor has several songs in the Queen catalog and also has his own solo career with his own band... quite successful I might add... check it out... "Old Friends" was a tribute to Freddie and "Say It Isn't True" was a song written by Roger for charity of the AIDS Phoenix Foundation during the 46664 concert celebration series for Nelson Mandela, pretty awesome...
ALSO, Sir Dr. Brian May, the greatest guitarist/astrophysicist in the world, has his own solo career and band with amazing music... check out "Last Horizon" and the most beautiful song in the world, "Bijou"... you will not be disappointed...

Love you two, as a Queen fan of some 35 years having first seen them live at Live Aid in 1985 and twice after that I love that you love all the band members. Roger has the voice similar to Rod Stewart which they used to call him at times. Roger sings "I'm in Love with my Car" which is great, a must watch. You need to do "Another One Bites the Dust" live from Wembley UK in 1986 AMAZING !!! Stay safe from Manchester UK xx
Below are some live suggestions that will simply blow your mind :-
One Vision/Tie Your Mother Down/In the Lap of the Gods/Seven Seas of Rhye/Tear It Up Medley - LIVE Wembley 1986 (mind blowing)
Another One Bites the Dust - LIVE Wembley 1986
Under Pressure - LIVE Wembley 1986 [Freddie has the whole 72,000 in the palm of his hands]
Who Wants to Live Forever - LIVE Wembley -or- Budapest 1986
    Now I'm Here - LIVE Wembley 1986
Love of My Life - LIVE Wembley 1986
Bohemian Rhapsody - LIVE Wembley 1986
Bohemian Rhapsody - LIVE Montreal 1981
Save Me - LIVE Montreal 1981
Dragon Attack with the Now I'm Here Reprisal (make sure it is the reprisal version) - LIVE Montreal 1981
Play the Game - LIVE Montreal 1981
Please, please, please, please do some of the above stuff, now you're down the Queen rabbit hole you'll never come back up !

There is a medley they do at this concert, Killer Queen/I’m In Love With My Car… where Roger has a solo! He is an amazing singer! He also has a really good drum solo is this show, too!

The 1st time I saw them in 1975, Freddie did a striptease down to very short, very tight red/white striped shorts, red suspenders and a smile.🔥🥰 If you got, flaunt it baby and FREDDIE HAD IT ALL OVER!!! John wrote this song. The other 3 are just overdressed!

    HI Coach!
    HI Mrs. Coach!
…I’m just discovering your Queen & Freddie reactions!
    PLEASE NOTE:
I’m sure Queen fans are asking you to react to the famous 20-minute LIVE AID set (Yesss Puleazee!!)
…PLEASE BE AWARE: There is one “CORRUPTED”/CUT-SHORT copy of the Queen Live Aid video, that’s circulating on YT. (There’s only ONE corrupted version, but it’s at the TOP of YT’s search algorithm… So sadly, LOTS of reactors have unwittingly used it.)
PLEASE ALSO NOTE: There are MANY complete copies of Queen’s Live Aid set video (some are also REMASTERED w AMAZING HD).
    RECOMMEND…
    My FAV version is on:
Remastered Memories channel (for the HD image/upgraded color)
Other channels with awesome-quality Live Aid videos are:
    Mundo do Rock
    and
    Alex (yep, just Alex)
…There are several others, as well. Just DON’T pick the first one that’s at the top of YT’s search algorithm, it will probably be the corrupted version.

You're right, Roger Taylor is amazing and the perfect match with Freddie. You can try Tenement Funster sing by Roger in the 1974 album Sheer Heart Attack or I'm in love with my car from the same concert in Montreal.
Brian May is also a good singer, you can hear him with "39" (only in the studio version)
As we say in France : "des petits joyaux"
Thank you for your react, more more Queen please 💛❤️

I actually did tell you. I’ll repeat what happened. Montreal was not part of a tour. It was two nights that a production company was filming to make a movie. The band was upset with the production company & their management team because they were telling people to stay in their seats. So to wreck the continuity between the two nights Freddie came out like this on day two. Don’t get on Freddie’s bad side.
Freddie, Brian & Roger all did solo albums. If you want to hear Roger singing lead while he drums listen to I’m in Love With My car. When you hear a Falsetto that’s Roger.
Whenever you hear a song with a great baseline the writer is usually John Deacan the Bass player.

  • @sandrabutler8483
    @sandrabutler8483 9 місяців тому +1

Written by John and almost didn't make the album let alone number one single. You can hear Sir Brian and Roger narrating this concert, it wasn't so much the people filming the concert more the security who didn't want the audience moving about or standing up, which goes against what this group is about
I would look at Inside The Rhapsody which is on Queen UA-cam, and you'll see how Fred planned this out, how it was made etc, Days Of Our Lives Documentary again gives you an insight into the whole band, who did what and how, and has Freddie mum and sister along with Mary Austin and others who knew Fred and the other members of the group

This is near the end of the show. As the night wore on Freddie had less clothing on.
In the beginning fully dressed leather jacket, long pants and all.
If you watch the whole concert the clothes come off.
I don't believe it had anything to do with anything other than it's hot during the length of the show.

FYI - Those were called booty shorts and they were very popular in the 70s for both men and women. Even the basketball uniforms in the 70s included tight short shorts. (I have to admit, it made basketball much more enjoyable for those of us who were not big sports fans.)
BTW - "Another One Bites the Dust" is used to train medical professionals to provide the correct number of chest compressions per minute while performing CPR. The bassline has close to 110 beats per minute, and 100-120 chest compressions per minute is the perfect rhythm to use for compressions -- though, perhaps the words are not exactly appropriate to sing while trying to save someone's life -- another one bites the dust.

Kinda late to your reaction. As you’ve read from the comments, Queen was pretty annoyed with the film production & security trying to subdue the audience into behaving. Of course, Freddie was having none of it so at certain times during the concert Freddie urged the audience to stand up, move around, and “you can take your clothes off” 😂 Michael Jackson loved this song saying, “That’s it, that’s the gravy” urging Queen to release it as a single. 😀

@CoachCastTV the songs rarely sound the same when it comes to Queen's live material. Freddie found it boring to do the songs the same way, which is why even the two Live at Wembley concerts they played two days in a row, sound different from each other, in spite of the same catalogs. That's also why it always sounds like Freddie was winging it effortlessly (I'm still not convinced that he wasn't) 😂
