‘KALA DARPAN -A Symphony Of Colours 2024’

To foster the spirit of art and celebrate young artists, Mount Carmel School, Zirakpur, proudly hosted
the second edition of its Inter School Art Competition, 'Kala Darpan 2024: A Symphony of Colours & #39;, on
Saturday, 31 August 2024, within the school premises. The School's Founders and Directors, Dr. Annie
Charles Samuel and Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel, officially inaugurated the art competition and
encouraged young artists to unleash their creative fervour.
The event was graced by Art Experts, Ms. Komal Malik, Assistant Professor in the Department of Fine
Arts at Dev Samaj College for Women, Chandigarh, and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Siwach, Fine Arts Master at
Government High School, Sector 32, Chandigarh, who were the judges for this spectacular celebration of
creativity.
The event featured a series of art competitions across various age groups, from Grade I to X, and
received an overwhelming response with enthusiastic participation from schools across the region. The
excitement and joy on the faces of the participants were truly rewarding.
The Principal, Mrs. Rashmi Ivy Rafi, highlighted the vital role of art in our lives, touching every aspect of
humanity. She described art as a form of meditation, congratulating both winners and participants while
emphasizing how art serves as a medium for young minds to explore their thoughts and imaginations.
