Gi Nattak and Rufus are the only boses I've struggled with on hard mode so far. Every other boss I got within 3-5 tries. This boss took me over an hour and Rufus took me about 5 hours. I was so close to giving up. Can't wait to see your strategy for him later.
Rufus is the hardest with mechanics but also easiest with hpmp trick. Block once, limitx3 straight, done. The rest include gi, magic build 4-5 same element orbs with hp absorb + mp absorb + magic focus + swittcast/mgc focus with genji glove can do well on general bosses n chapter 14 all bosses
The limit siphon was my savior in this. I haven't finished all the brutal challenges yet so I didn't have the item you recommended, but Red was able to get his limit up high enough from the soul flames so as long as I could get to the swarm of them. I sustain myself with prayer (Barret) and thundaga + swiftcast + mp absorb + hp absorb (Red) timed to cancel powerful moves. It took me a try or two to not get INSTANTLY grabbed, but once I got past that initial part, it was smooth sailing.
whenever i win the boss fight on hard mode i celebrate my victory as if i scored the winning penalty of the finales of the world cup. thanks man you are a legend
This worked like a charm eventhough I had to improvise on the final phase, just with Barret laid the smackdown on spells with everything I got and it worked. Thanks a million for the guides , mate! Really powering thorugh hard mode with them so :)
Last video of yours I watched, so posting here. Got my platinum last night. The last battle isn’t nearly as difficult as some of the other battles (like this one). Just wanted to say thanks for all your immensely helpful guides. Pretty sure I’d have called it quits way back at the VR challenges if not for your vids. Learned a ton too. Thanks and much love homie!! 🙏
I personally think it’s moronic to post guides that include an accessory that is acquired by beating one of the toughest challenges in the game . Your average player stuck on boss battles in hard mode won’t have the gotterdamerung.
Doing Hard first won't make the toughest challenge easier, but doing the toughest challenge first will make Hard easier. It's just a different perspective where I think it's better to not delay the inevitable in order to make the lesser challenge easier. I get not everybody understands my reasoning and I do apologise for that, Hard isn't the toughest challenge as you say so you should be able to improvise with something else in Gotters place as an example
Thanks you!!! Once again your guides have saved me. Gi Nattak and and Rufus were the only bosses on my normal mode play through that gave me any trouble and I was dreading them on hard mode. My run didn't go as well as yours, but even with deviations the strategy is solid enough to carry you through as long as no one gets grabbed. Linking this to all my friends ❤❤

Good guide, but being fair, anyone that has access to a gotterdamerung shouldn't be too worried about story bosses. Gilgamesh and VR Sephiroth are just on another level for real
@@aaronravindran The base limits were nerfed, but the enhanced ones are quite OP. Don't get me wrong, the guide is great because most bosses in Rebirth have many hp-lock phases and unblockable special attacks, that can be sorted out with the correct use of limit breaks. @@aaronravindran it kinda did mess me up a bit for a few attempts, I did just fine. Im at chapter 11 currently and just so not ready to face Vincent despite knowing his weakness to Fire.
@Visious05 I'm on chapter 12 and agree so far that all bosses including GI and vincent are pretty easy esp if you've done the VR challenges. Esp with the limits. For Vincent i just had the gotter on cait and limit siphoned to Aerith for planet protection. Gets to second phase free. Then all you need to worry about is dodgy chaos and savage attack.
I found this channel trying to beat weiss in remake. Every other guide failed me, but optinoob weiss strat I got done within 3 tries. BY FAR the best strategies I've seen on YT or anywhere. Hey, I've been a silent watcher of your FF7 Rebirth videos and decided to finally comment and just tell you thank you. I like to play video games, though I am not always very good at it, but I've been trying so hard to platinum this game and thanks to your videos, I am nearly there (sitting at 207 hours). I just need to finish chapters 11-14 on hard mode. Your videos are super informative and it is so easy to watch and observe your game play as I work to try and replicate yours as close as possible during my playthrough. Thank you so so much!
Holy cow bro. Absolute dream of a build. I didn't finish the battle sim so was missing an accessory but swapped with limit boost. Did everything to a T and beat him my first time. Awesome awesome vid! Thanks !
i was able to half use this strategy and still beat him on the first try...i had all the materia you did but some were only half leveled...didnt have gotterdammerung and i was able to beat it thanks to you...the sattelite beam was very useful
Although i had to retry a million times with ur loadout and i tweaked a lil here and there (i don't have the gotterdamarung yet either) i finally beat himmm!! My heart was beating so fast when i won and i was so afraid the game might have an error on me during the cutscene until it finally autosaved. Figured I'd come back here to thank you ^^
Did it first try with this guide! Even got grabbed twice, but as soon as he was hit with a level three spell, he would immediately drop the other character.
Dude… the last video I watched of yours was for the last VR sim with Cloud and Sephi. I’ve pretty much breezed through hard mode with everything I learned from you. Except for this guy… fuhhh. Regardless, hearing your voice brought me instant peace. Took me 4 tries. Much love, homie 🙏
I couldn't stop laughing throughout this guide, how in the WORLD did you think of this!?!?! Thank you so much, I beat him first try (after failing 15 times)
Thanks your guide was the easiest I could use. It didn't exactly worked as described here but I was able to get him down close enough to handle the rest. Thank you.
Great guide, thank you for sharing. For this fight, i have struggle with it using physical build and finally done it with a close call using 2 limit to finish the boss at phase 3 :D
Bro you really are the goat. How do you even come up with these concepts and strategies 🤯 from the rulers of the outer world to this just keep the videos coming.
Took me a few tries but this worked. I've been doing Hard Mode on my own so far, but this boss is just not very fun to fight against. Too much stuff going on I think, plus the obnoxious teleporting around. Hate bosses that run from the player.
This boss gave me trouble back in the OG and it took me a while to beat him. 27 years later, this mofo is still giving me nightmares and trouble. (I was able to beat him thanks to this guide)
He could be a pain in the ass in the OG if you took him on straight up legit, but a funny thing is if you use just 1 elixir on him... it was an instant kill. So if you pre-empted him you took no damage at all. For the price of an elixir. 😂
I'm sorry, some of your guides have been really helpful, but I just can't follow any involving a gotterdammerung. Can't seem to do Rulers of the Outer worlds- satsuigaming's/valkyrie's build got me the furthest (all the way to sephiroth), but not in a good enough position by that fight to end it.
I somehow managed to beat Gi Nattak last night. Lightnings set to magic focus, hp absorb & mp absorb, time x2, healing/revive, transference module & limit booster items, and phoenix summon's reraise got me through it. Staying alive long enough to limit synergy to level 3 and repeat.
@@Optinooby hey man I like your videos, I think you have great strategies. It’s just sometimes you see maxed out material or accessories you only get after beating the most difficult thing on hard mode. No disrespect intended , just thought it was kinda funny
My perspective is that its not a case of the hardest specific thing but more "What is the easiest overall approach"??? The hardest thing will ALWAYS be the hardest thing, its inevitable!!! But, doing the hardest thing first makes hard mode easier, but doing hard mode first DOESN'T make the hardest thing easier. Its a more optimal approach with the difficulty and not just "leaving the hardest thing till last" which is inoptimal!! You have to ask yourself, do I want to make the overall platinum much harder than it needs to be, cause leaving Gotterdammerung till last is exactly that!!! Just stick with those who told you that leaving Gotter till last is better!!! ;)
Certainly seems to be lot easier than the mostly physical damage one I did with underleveled materia :D It's fun to look at how much you can cheese these bosses, I wouldn't have had any idea. The final boss gauntlet was really tough going in without any proper strategy.
Didn't have gotter so I had to modify this a bit. Ended up having fire elemental on both armor and went with using stop and bioga at the very start of the fight. Took about 7 times before I switched to a favorable build and beat this mf. Limit booster got me halfway with the limit siphon though
Square Enix: "Say the line Bart!" Bart: "*sigh* Optinoob Hard Mode Guide" P.s. I do feel like I'm improving at this game a bit, when it looks like we have similar builds
@@hanayume86 Anything I guess that best fits and try to adapt the best you can. Or go and get Gotter and make upcoming fights easier. But gettijng the Gotter, yea thats always going to be rock hard, even doing hard mode, but at least Gotter makes a bigger difference to hard ;)
This is much better than the strategy I used! I had Red XIII with the magic strat while Barret acted as support, which made the fight take longer and added more room for error. Also, I ended up getting every trophy today but the ones locked behind 'Can't Stop Won't Stop', wooo! Thanks for the guides on the Brutal and Legendary challenges, they were all awesome and helped me get through it all! Now I just gotta wait for the patch to fix the quest so I can get the Platinum.
Brutals sims are always going to be hard no matter what, even with a few manuscripts. There is info going around that dealing a little more damage due to extra manuscripts will make a massive difference, it wont, you will see when you get to them. You even have to half the sims to get the remaining mamuscripts and you're also missing out on an Elemental and Magnify materia. You're making things harder, not easier
Dam I already beat the game on hard mode almost I only have chapter 14 and that’s all I just can’t stand that rulers of the outer worlds I’ve been stuck on it for days I tried the huffed cheese setup but my characters just always die once I reach round 2 with Titan and bahumut
This is what i mean, doing hard mode first doesnt really have the effect you think. Those that are recommending hard mode first, need to try the sims without the tiny bit extra damage and they will see it makes little difference. But seems they have just stuck to it, managed to beat it like everybody always does, and so have just believed thats due to doing hard mode first, but its not
Sorry for that mate, just look for a guide that doesnt use it. This aims to make the platinum as easy as possible, I cant force that on anybody so you will need to look for whatever fits your intended approach. Ive had a few recently say they are only level 55 and dont have materia maxed. Some have even said they dont have all weapon abilities yet. I cant cover everybody unfortunately so I just stick to the easiest and fastest overall way, the rest is up to you
@@Optinooby The problem with this strategy involving the Gotterdamarung is, that is pretty much the last item you are meant to unlock in the game, it's meant to make replaying the game more fun. Most people won't even attempt to get it until they have completed Hard Mode, and gotten all the Manuscripts to make their party as powerful as possible to tackle Chadley's Simulations.
It's not 'meant' to do after hard, it unlocks after completing the game just like hard, the game kinda gives you the freedom to decide for yourself. Its impossible to get all the manuscripts before the harder sims anyway as most of them give a manuscript. You can do hard before the sins if you choose, just apologies for there not being a guide here with that approach. You will find that getting Gotter for hard makes the game overall easier than doing hard first. Can I ask how you have an opinion about which is most difficult anyway if you haven't attempted yet before Hard and after Hard with the only difference in your setup being manuscripts? Because if you're reading it have been told elsewhere that doing hard first us better and you simply choose to ignore my approach, then will be best to follow guides from whoever told you hard first is better i think ;)
@@Optinooby It's based on my own experience from Remake, where those Simulations were far and away the hardest content, and getting those Manuscripts in Hard Mode was pretty much essential to tackling them at all. And yes, I'm level 70, that was one the first things I did after getting Chapter Select. Most of my Materia is maxed out. And I have tried those Hard mode simulations. I did not get far. Probably could have done better with a bit of practice and rearranging of my build, but I decided that it was best to be at full strength before really diving into those.
I did Remake the same as you, spent just as much time on that making guides. Honestly though, once I got to the Gotter sim and strategised it, I regret not doing it before hard mode. I even loaded a save on remake at the end of normal, before starting hard, once i learnt the Gotter sims battle, and honestly no difference! I realised I had deliberately made hard mode even harder for myself for not getting Gotter first!! They will be just as hard even after Hard mode. Keep a save before starting hard mode, and then when you have done the sims AFTER hard mode. Then load the save BEFORE hard mode and do the sins now you know how, you will find the fight will go almost exactly the same at level 8 as it does for level 9. The problem you had difficulty is not because were level 8, its because they are just hard as nails!! I guess you will see soon enough, I just hope you dont regret holding off so long afterwards
I already cleared this. This took me a few attempts, been focused on health mainly and the soul flames. Kinda did mostly the same with the battle with fire and a bit of Stardust Ray. I didn’t really used either of the Lvl 3 LBs, but still was a bit challenging on timing of Nattak’s attacks.
@@Optinooby oh i figured it out, it’s because you have gotterdämmerung. I did it yesterday without adopting your setup but it took me like 2-3 hours. Was the hardest one yet and now vincent is kicking my ass 😂
Came into this fight with really low mp, about 28 and 35, this method is literally impossible for me to do. I cant find a chocobo bench as i have to complete trial, is there anyway to recover mp while at this point. My mp absorption is still on the lowest level
@@Rohaan4567technically you can do all bosses hitless. There are vods on youtube beating all bosses with 0 dmg. Learn his patterns, keep maximum fury ready for the small skulls. And if hit, try to heal with pray instead. When he casts doom, you gotta be as agressive as possible. Maybe keep the limit attacks for that bit to finish him off. Obviously easier said then done, but thats the only way i can imagine you doing this with very little mp left
I had this experience last night, with low MP mainly on Barret. I don't think he has Stagger Recovery on any of his weapons, at least not from what I saw, so I gave him the boxcrusher keychain which raises HP and MP on staggered enemies, and then used him to run back and stagger enemies that had respawned, and I already had Stagger Recovery on Red's weapon. I did this until everyone was back to full MP. Then I rested at the bench for the HP. Though after watching this video, I think I'm going to retreat from this boss fight anyway and do some other things. I love the strategy here but I don't have the Gotterdammerung. This boss is absolutely nuts.

Crazy how this guide just does not work for me
Square Enix: "Say the line Bart!"
Bart: "*sigh* Optinoob Hard Mode Guide"
P.s. I do feel like I'm improving at this game a bit, when it looks like we have similar builds
thank you so much. u saved me once again!!!
I don’t have the gotterdamerung and silver claw ,, what to equip instead?? I am struggling with this one,, so annoying
My guy 🤝🏾
Why did you start with the limit break bar at full?
Gotterdammerung
Dude you are the best
This is much better than the strategy I used! I had Red XIII with the magic strat while Barret acted as support, which made the fight take longer and added more room for error.
Also, I ended up getting every trophy today but the ones locked behind 'Can't Stop Won't Stop', wooo! Thanks for the guides on the Brutal and Legendary challenges, they were all awesome and helped me get through it all! Now I just gotta wait for the patch to fix the quest so I can get the Platinum.
Dude, what a beating 😂💪🏾👍
this helped me beat it! thanks!
Holy shit you absolutely wrecked him 😂
What item or mayoría increases the Limit Gauge all the way?
@@myheropenguin9227 Gotterdammerung, if you dont have it, you can try with Limit Booster instead
@@Optinooby is that item obtain in the Meridian area?
minigames maybe? gotter is from sims
can you get Götterdämmerung without playing the game on hard mode first?
Yes, its easier to do the Brutals first and then hard mode. Gotter can make hard mode easier, but hard mode wont make the sims easier
Optinoob, thank you once again! I got stucked in this boss. 😡
So casual thank you!
How do you beat this without gotterdamung?
If ya wanna make it a bit harder without the Gott, you may just need to learn the boss a little more and adapt
@@Optinoobythat's the equivalent of a Souls player saying "just got gud". Not very helpful.
But seems they have just stuck to it, managed to beat it like everybody always does, and so have just believed thats due to doing hard mode first, but its not
The fact that this requires the Gotterdamarung makes this guide unusable for most players.
I didn't have the Gotterdamarung so I couldn't use this guide. I still left a like for you.
Mano, quando eu consigo destruir os soul flame , nao consigo atacar o boss como voce faz, como consegue?
Nice. Thanks.
Where do you get a second MP absorb?
u will have google sorry, i really don't remember
is it possible to perfect parry his attacks?
You can perfect parry almost everything if you care to put the practise in, i didnt ;)
Thank you very much😊
I already cleared this. This took me a few attempts, been focused on health mainly and the soul flames. Kinda did mostly the same with the battle with fire and a bit of Stardust Ray. I didn’t really used either of the Lvl 3 LBs, but still was a bit challenging on timing of Nattak’s attacks.
Why does he have limit at the start?
time limit? sorry i forgot
Sounds like restarting is the only way if u cant brute force it, or maybe use another strategy??
Ah man starting over is such a knack, may have to be, any thoughts on a strat to beat him with minimal MP?
@@Majikn give red the enemy skill materia with hp regen. It helps alot. Also don't forget barret his R1+x/o does iron defence wich if you spam, most projectiles can't do damage to you. Block his melee attacks, and for ranged just run away. I beat him on my 3rd attempt. He is not that bad, if you learn his moveset
