You are a Godsend. That was a battle I'm glad I never have to do again. The loadout was spot on - similar to Optinoob but thankfully without the GDR.
I dropped it 5 times getting to the point where there was a rhythm going on Thundaga and Firaga but once that was working, I beat his ass like a man possessed. In the end, I had two Satellite Beams and started stage 2 with both boys fully decked on ATB, Faith and Haste - didn't even need to Stop him again... I just sent his ass straight back to hell.
Where he belongs. Less than a second on the clock... NEVER. AGAIN.

He keeps hitting me so hard. And sometimes also grabs one of my guys and almost skills him.
I can't keep the mp up for healing and damaging. I don't get it...

its incredibly helpful to know that at the start of the battle you used Barret’s Overdrive to add another bar of ATB, I think I watched this 3-4 times before I finally figured out where that extra bar for the Firaga+Bioga combo was coming from
thank you for this! i didnt followed the tips here down to the dot but I made sure that I copied the armor and the material (I didn't have the cetran armors with 8 slots for material so I had to go and get them first before fighting this boss again.)
if I may add, if you ever need to fight the small encounters along the way to the boss you can also put fire + elemental materia on the weapons so that you can just normal attack your way through the map without having to use MP as you want to save it for the boss.
i also placed firaga and thundaga on shortcuts so that I can react faster when the boss is about to do an attack.

I hate the mini game on one od the protorelics...I haven't got any of the cool shit but I've done fine on hard mode so far
Thanks it worked well. In my case I have to try a few times but the key is also to have Phenix available in the third phase, so you can revive anyone with the auto revive after 2 TBS.

What exactly does bioga do for this battle? I saw it in different builds now but not sure how it helps except for some damage ?

Without this guide I’d be stuck on how to even get past the first phase!! Thanks for breaking this down. My strategy went out the window on phase 3 and just went all out offensive but got the job done in the end 😂🙏

First ahah thanks for the tip I can't get this through even with the other videos on youtube but Bio seems a good idea to add, and not staggering before second phase is a good tip I didn't think about
Haha yeah buddy! Yeah as I say in the video, it was very RnG, I felt the Gi Nattak was wiping me out every time I tried apart from this last one, you can see how easily I do get it done here so it’s achievable. Good luck and let me know when you get it done 👍🏻

No Bio for me (I started with casting Faith + Haste then perfect guarding the first attacks then ATB Boost --> Thundaga etc) but keeping the stagger for phase 2 was key, as for the last phase, Barret's level 3 limit clutched it 😉 Thanks for the tips again !

Seconded that I got this in one try with this build. Melee is just not the way to go unless you need that perfect guard stimulation.
lol, Gi won’t even let me get any attacks in. Maybe I’m too close?
I still can’t beat him, how do you not need any health stuff going in the battle plus I’m going in with not full magic.
I swapped out to have a chakra on Red and Barrett - tried to keep haste on for the full fight and just chip away - my material wasn’t maxed so wasn’t getting enough mp/hp absorbed
