This is great! I’ve really benefitted from all these vids. Quick question: Is the “Faith” buff you get from empowerment material stronger or longer-lasting than the “Faith” buff you get from the Sonic Boom Enemy Skill? Just curious if I could swap out empowerment for Luck Up or something since I’ve already got the Enemy Skill Material on w this build. Cheers!
Thank you for this, did it first try but my run almost came to an end at the end. For some reason when he does the whole taking over of whoever is in control, he wasn’t doing it. Then cloud died outta nowhere and I was forced to dodge and weave with sephi and kill him with 2 limit breaks I managed to get.I was sweating 😅
@@Optinooby Optinoob, thanks for the heads up - you were right, I didn't get the manuscripts from hard side-quests. Ugh, I hate having to basically play the game over again to complete it fully...
What this game could do as a reward for beating all challenges and hard mode is make Zack and Sephiroth party members just for the fun as there’s nothing else to do once you done hard and challenges
Instead they give us a kick in the teeth “you can have them…. for the hardest 10 round boss rushes in gaming history” Jesus Christ im not ready for the weapons in part 3
You're probably the sole responsible for the 0,9% plat achievers. You're a lifesaver for finding this perfect strategy and thanks a lot. Was so stuck on rulers of the outer worlds but thanks to you it was so easy.
So, after finally beating the dreadful "Bonds of Friendship" challenge last night, I dreaded this one, but after watching your video (as usual), I practiced your strats for almost an hour. I went to sleep, woke up and beat this challenge immediately. WAY easier than "Bonds of Friendship". You are a lifesaver, Optinoob. You've helped thousands of us with all your guides. I once thought that this Platinum would be unachievable for me (even though I have other difficult Plats, like the ones from the Soulsborne games or RE4R), but thanks to you, it is now in my reach. All that's left are the "Of Hardy Stock" and "Well-Rounded" trophies. And yes, I will be using your guides 😄. Can't wait to try out your busted set-ups in the story. Anyway, I'll leave a comment in another video (probably the final part of your Hard Mode guide) once I've unlocked the Plat. Thank you, Optinoob! PS: You weren't kidding. Sephiroth is a far better companion than Zack, it isn't funny. He's the reason this particular challenge is a breeze compared to the previous one. "Bonds of Friendship" might be the single most frustrating thing I've ever played.
Of Hardy Stock will be an absolute breeze for you if you got through these. I did Hard Mode before these challenges (only did the first 3 Brutals) and honestly, other than like, three or four bosses (and one weirdly difficult normal enemy encounter during the Cait Sith solo section _before_ his boss fight) were even worth calling a challenge beyond the time it took to rearrange your equipment/accessories/materia for the different parties you needed for each fight.
Totally agree… you donno how many times I died to Odin simply due to zantesukan when he had like 25% hp left and I have full hp and mp on both characters. All those attempts wasting 30min at a time over and over each attempt.
Bonds of Friendship, even with Optinoob's strategy (I'm not saying it's a bad strategy by any means), kicked my ass a few times vs Alexander, a few fewer times against Bahamut, and a LOT against Odin, though I DID get a lot of practice in as a result. I actually lucked out against Odin after screwing up by having Cloud controlled instead of Zack when he uses that stop attack. By a stroke of luck, Odin used Sleipnir's Furor again while he was low on health, which I exploited to the fullest extent by using Aeroga, plus a few melee attacks to stagger him (if I remember this exactly; I'll have to viewthe video I took again). Additionally, Zack had a full limit break meter, which I took advantage of while Odin was staggered. The limit break while staggered finished him off.
1 little tip for bahaumt and this strat; when you attack his wings, just attack 1 with aero 2, then hold square for a bit to gain just a little ATB, then take out the other wing with aero 2, then immediately hold square again to build up to 2 ATB again. It’s tough to get the aero 3 off fast enough while he’s still pressured, but with this method, I never failed doing it.
❤❤❤ finished all the brutal and legendary combats just now, after basically giving up on them and moving on. Your guides kept me going and all the pain is finally over! Thank you so much!!!
Checking in 3 months after release to let you know you are AMAZING. These have been by far the safest, most effective, straight forward guides I've ever found for any game ever. You don't pile on a half hour of useless information, you just get to the meat and bones and give a step by step guide. Have all of them worked out completely? No. Have I had to improvise at times? Yeah. But your builds and guides leave some room for error, which is fantastic. I haven't completed Bonds of Friendship (possibly waiting for weapon level 9), but I've done everything else thanks to you saving me literally a hundred hours of retries before figuring out the strategies.
Just finished this one after doing Zack’s one last night. This guide is brilliant - whilst things when wrong during Bahamut and very wrong during Odin, what you’ve pointed out throughout the video was enough for me to get over the line. Not using reraise during Bahamut so you have more MP for Odin meant I was able to use it again during the fight but most important, the O and Triangle Sephiroth combo to build up limit fast was key. Cloud was dead and Odin has around 10% left so I just spammed that move, limit broke, staggered, spammed it again and limit broke again. This is what makes your guides top tier for these challenges, breaking everything down so we have the knowledge of what can possibly still be done if following your strategy doesn’t quite work out. Anyway, thank you again and hope your channel keeps growing. I know I’ll be sticking around now.
Funny enough you could play the whole original game with Sephiroth in the party if you used a GameShark. Would've been a nice callback to that kind of.
I completely agree and I really don't understand why SE seems so averse to "outside the box" ideas like this. Brutal/Legendary combat sims are only available after you beat the game. There's no maintaining story integrity or anything like that at that point. Let people have a little fun if they want to play through the game again. One of the things that's so great about FF games(but 7 specifically) is just how strange and bizarre things are in the world. Just go a bit crazy and let people have fun. Unlock playable characters(even just Vincent and Cid would be cool), give us the Beta enemy skill or completely new enemy skills. Anything. Just let players have some fun.
@@maxv658I agree and disagree. What would have been much better is if they used the Zack voice actor to duplicate a lot of the Cloud dialog and then we get to use Zack and Zack's techniques in replace of Cloud (sharing the same Weapon Levels and being locked to the Buster Sword of course). Then in instances where Cloud is freaking out and confused as to who he is in the game (replaced by Zack's avatar for our reward), it flashes from us seeing Zack to us seeing Cloud. If they just got the voice actors to say Zack a few different ways, they could easily replace instances of them saying Cloud to Zack, but during those scenes he's only called Cloud. That way we're seeing how fractured Cloud's psyche really is and we get to play with a new Hero and no real changes to the story at all. I disagree with using Sephiroth at all though. In fact, rebirth features and says Sephiroth WAY too much. Less is more with that guy
@@saw31489 I mean Sephiroth can just be an extra bonus member during combat but won't be featured in cutscenes at all. As long as it doesn't affect the story I don't think it matters too much
I have written maybe 5 comments all together on youtube, but I have to say this. You sir are the greatest soldier first class that has ever existed on youtube. You saved me from going insane cause of the vr challenges. Thank you very much!
I have it, the platinum, 250hrs and out as of this evening. Managed To Be A Hero on ny first attempt without knowing the enemies or seeing the guide, but that's because the foundations were there from your Bonds of Freindship video. Thank you so much, I can now move on with my life. Even with the videos, it was surprising how much skill was still required, it has given me so much more appreciation for the variety and complexity of this combat system despite having logged like 200hrs before the challenges. One of my proudest platinums. N.B. I will completely concede though that you absolutely solved Rulers of the Outer Worlds outright for me, thank you again.
Thanks to your guides i finally got the platinum it was such a masterpiece but the platinum was such a pain to get hopefully part 3 is getting not that hard in 4 years.
This was a great guide, and Optinoob is a great UA-camr for putting this together so well. One tip I would like to add. As Optinoob says, DO NOT use Reraise in the Bahamut Arisen right. Make sure Sephiroth has MP for Odin. Once you get to Odin, use Sephiroth as Optinoob does in the video, to build up his ATB by doing the circle and then triangle combo when at full Aura. Once you have done this, DO NOT instantly cast Reraise. What you want to do is then switch to Cloud and try to get his Prime Mode and Faith going. Once you have that with Cloud, the rest of the fight with him is just trying to not get hit, and casting Aeroga, then building up ATB as you can. Now, with the two ATBs you saved from Sephiroth earlier. What I did was save them in the event that I started taking unnecessary hits. If I was doing great with both characters and not getting hit, then I would cast a Reraise on Sephiroth only, and then build up another ATB bar to replace the one I just used. BUT. If you have taken like 2 or more hits from Odin, I then IMMEDIATELY would cast Aeroga with Sephiroth. The reason for this is that you need to hit Odin with ATB charges to kinda put him on the back foot, and lessen the charge he has gained towards Gjallarhorn’s Warning, if he has landed hits on either Cloud or Sephiroth. If you take too many hits without responding by hitting him back with ATB abilities, and he casts Gjallarhorn’s Warning, it doesn’t matter if you have two Reraise’s up or not, you likely won’t be able to recover because Sephiroth will be out of MP, and Cloud will have to set up Prime Mode and Faith again. This method guarantees that he doesn’t cast Gjallarhorn’s Warning and then Zantetsuken. Also, one final tip. If you see Odin casting Gjallarhorn’s Warning, and you have 2 ATB with Cloud, then IMMEDIATELY cast Aeroga with Swiftcast, and you can knock Odin out of that spell and he won’t cast Zantetsuken immediately after it. Good luck everyone, and thanks again Optinoob.
Holy MF Crap, that fight earns both names: Brutal AND Legendary. Tried it multiple times last night to get the hang of using Sephy and made it all the way to Odin once. Good proof of concept, but had enough problems it was still frustrating AF. Came back this morning (big mistake) and was screaming imprecations at the game within 20 minutes. After a full day's work, came back tonight and finally finished. I was at the point of throwing in the towel and accepting defeat vs Odin - Sephy was dead, Cloud was out of reraise, and Odin still had too much health. Managed to survive a hit in Prime Mode that charged ATB, squeezed in an Aeroga that staggered him, and had just enough time to get off another Aeroga that probably finished him by a 1% margin of damage. An absolutely insane fight that probably wouldn't have been possible without these guides, so thank you.
Got my platinum after being discouraged a month ago and thinking I'd never get it because everyone else's guides made it seem like you needed to be near perfect. Thank you for your guides, optinoob! It doesn't always go as smoothly for some of us as it does for you, but your builds allow for plenty of error (to the point Cloud or Sephi can die in this challenge and it's not a game over) instead of making people master perfect block. You're the man!
I have been watching your guides since FFVII Remake, and I was able to platinum it. Now, this is the last challenge that I have to endure. Man, you have been amazing. I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks for helping. Keep up the good work!

Awesome guide! The only advice I have is the odin section, for me what REALLY worked was instead of building ATB with sepphy for reraise, I found it best to instead only play as cloud starting with prime, getting 1 atb, using faith then beating down on him and riposting his attacks for aeroga, it absolutely melted him. I didn’t touch sephy at all unless it came down to me messing up with cloud and dying. The reason for this is because odin would always sound gjalahhorn’s warning (which means he’s about to do zentasuken) super early, and after reading his assess profile, it says that he will sound the warning if you get hit too many times by him, but if you fight him and keep deflecting or hitting him, he wont do it because he lives for the thrill of battle. And as it turns out, whenever I built ATB with sephy for reraises, cloud would keep getting hit, and by the time I was done with the reraises, he was close to sounding the warning.
One more post of gratitude for you, Optinoob. Definitely used the core strategy behind this one to complete the run. I found that almost exclusively I could stick with just Cloud and the “prime mode to faith to 2ATB Aero3” core part of the strat without having to control Sephiroth much. I think the main add on I had for this was to build up Sephiroth ATB when an enemy was pressured to help get the Helix synergy off and then with 0 MP set up anything else I might need. That’s how I got reraise on during Bahamut (didn’t need it but you’ve got to play safely), and it meant I could just set it up for Odin (again didn’t need it but always better to be safe). Some close calls (Cloud died twice during Kujata and Jabawock too forever because I stuck with a slower “dodge” and Clouds distance attack to build ATB but my run was 19 minutes all in all. Just again, huge thanks to Optinoob. I was legit going to not bother going for platinum but now I get to replay again on hard mode and will definitely be checking out your guides if I find myself needing some build advice! You’re a star and I definitely hope you’re still making content for the 3rd game because we are going to need you!!
230 hours and the platinum is finally done. I am now going to play Daxter on PS4 and PS5 Ratchet and clank size matters. I need some stress free games before going for The Evil Within. 😂 Thanks for the best guides on the internet! ❤❤
Thank you so much to your guides. Finally got my Platinum Trophy now. Your guides are much easy to understand becuase you always make sure that people will see what you are doing. Your explanations are straight to the point. For Bonds of Friendship and To Be A Hero I only struggles with Odin boss fight. He is the most cheapest boss in the game. Good thing Sephiroth have Reraise and I finally kick his ass in the end 😁
MAN OH MAN. It took me forever to beat Bond of Friendship, but I did this one first try and I almost fumbled on Odin. Much love to you for these videos. Amazing
It's over! It's finally done! All of Chadley's stuff is done! Johnny's 7 Star Hotel is up and running! Thank you Opti, couldn't have got through these brutal and legendary fights without you and some other UA-camrs! You're awesome!
Hey Optinoob I just became virtually renowned about a minute ago thanks to you! I spent about a day and half completing bond of a friendship because I kept making mistakes and learning to adapt to bahamut and odin but it took me 16 minutes to complete to be a hero after I got the hang of it. Now I'm just gonna wait till they fix can't stop won't stop and I'll 100% the game. Thank you very much again for the help!
Thanks optinoob! I practiced the summons in the sim, studied your guide, got through the Zack bout with maybe 6 tries and this I completed on my second attempt (well third but I only practiced sephiroth on the first attempt and restarted)! You're a lifesaver! Started watching your guides at the rules of the outer worlds brutal challenge and boy did you make the journey easier! Now I'll just cruise through chapters 13 and 14 on hard and I'm done. Thank you! With your guides, these never seemed impossible. It was super helpful of you to tell the techniques on how to deal with each boss and which attack is blockable by crossfire or basic block. That was would have been very cumbersome to try out by yourself and memorize. So my heartfelt thanks to you!
After trying for something like 2 to 3 hours, while with your guide Zack took a few tries. In the last run, when doing the "dancing" around the mobs (such as Odin), I was also using the Zanshin (And the rising one) to spent atb so I could use the combined action (free mp !). And also, maybe worth mentionning for bahamut that an ameliored zanshin can one shot the wings of Bahamut. Can be really usefull in a pinch (Cloud being silenced, Cloud being dead, ...) Anyway, great guide and thanks, I could finally have my 88/88 for Johnny ! :')
Hard Mode was a bit disappointing, since you basically can skip everything right to the boss fight. So keeping your mp at full wasn't really challenging.
@@buldrahilgaming9140Plus the broken benches that use cushions still restore MP, so the side quest and rare fiend manuscripts are pretty easy to get. It's only the "dungeon" areas that you have to worry about and you skip almost everything in them anyway. Only time you really need to worry about MP conservation is in Chapter 12 and 13, but you can use an MP absorb setup to top characters off that way. This is what I did for the gold saucer fights, I built cloud for lightning absorb and topped off his MP on Elena, then I was full for Rufus, setup Cure with focus, swift cast, and efficiency, gave me an instant 2k heal for 2 MP, fight was a cakewalk.
@@buldrahilgaming9140 Its funny to see peeps complaining about the brutal challenges being unfair, and then others upset hard mode is not challenging.
@@ltlsWhatltIs TBF you can't really compare the story mode on hard and the brutal/legandary challenges, but only thing I found as a real pain, was Rulers, Barret legandary and Bonds of Friendsship
Thank you so much, your guides helped me a lot for these brutal & legendary bouts! The Bonds of Friendship one was definitely the hardest, took me a few days to beat it. Using Sephiroth for Odin was much easier to avoid his attacks. Bahamut was probably the most difficult out of the lineup for me in both fights, always came down to the wire! (Edit: Spelling)
Finally done this one! I got to Odin on my first run, but was wondering why I wasn’t doing near enough damage and didn’t manage to kill him before he wiped us out. Turned out, I’d selected Genji Earrings and not Genji Gloves! I then proceeded to lose to Alexander 4 times in a row, before finally getting the win! Thanks again, Optinoob! You’re the FF7 Savant!
I can't thank you enough for all of these brutal/legendary bouts guides. Took me a few retries and ability rotation tweaks but they pretty much have enabled me to complete all challenges in less than 5 attempts for all of them! Thank you so much for all the hard work! Cheers!! 🙏
Thank you for recommending Reraise because Odin totally got me with his Ultimate Attack. Reraise saved my ass and I got him. I got the achievement, which gets me one step closer to Platinum. Thank you.
Thank to you, Naz Talgic and Solestro all help me through the hardest platinum game of all time for me! And thank for that I'm very grateful that you help us all do this challenge! Thank you so much bro for everything!
Thank you!!!! Done! Took me a bit longer and used sephi a bit more but managed!!! One left .... I left bonds of friendship for last as I've seen many people complaining about it.... didn't want to burn out, so left for last...fingers crossed!!!
I found out that during the Odin fight that the Synergy Ability and Odin's Temporal Prison will cancel each other out, so if in a pinch you haven't built up the Limit gauge yet but do have synergy up you can use that to cancel out Temporal Prison. So you lose out on the damage and infinite MP but on the upside you don't become a sitting duck for Odin.
Used your guides for the combat challenges in remake and now rebirth 🙏 Completed bonds of friendship in a few hours and this one first try. Thank you 😭 the Plat is now achievable, hard mode here I come.
I’ve done one attempt and lost to Odin but my god this is so much easier than bonds of friendship. I finally beat that after your guides so I just wanna say thanks again for it
Just wanted to echo everyone else here - you're a true legend for creating these, there's zero chance I would've managed to get through these without your guides. Thank you so much !
Man, thank you. I have beaten all this challenhes last night thanks to your videos. For me, the harder one was the brutal challenge 6. All the legendary were easiers. I died around 4-5 to Bahamut in "Bonds of friendship" and 1 time to Odin, then i beat their ass! To me, "To be a hero" is the easier one. I used your stratagy and died once against Bahamut (cause i had trouble fighting king zoo), but beat odin at the first try. Thank you. You have the most simple ans easier methods. The best guide of this game in UA-cam. Now, i'm gonna play the hard mode to get this goddamn platinum
I can’t thank you enough for these guides, most of us would never even come close without your help. Now i can take a break and do hard mode some other time. Surprisingly easier with Seph, he barely takes damage when you don’t control him lol and Reraise saved my ass with Odin, i was starting to mess up a lot in the 2. half of the fight.
After several failed attempts throughout the day, I finally defeated this vile challenge. While I did use the materia build in this video, I altered it a bit to include ATB Boost, Time and Empowerment. Reason for that was that I employed a different strat from another video that involved buffing Sephiroth with both Bravery and Haste. Then as Sephiroth, attack the boss until I built up his Aura charge, then I started dodging and air slashing the boss. This not only builds up ATB rather fast but also builds up his Limit Break fast as well. Once the limit break is ready, hit up Octoslash and with a full aura bar, finish it up with Octoslash Prime. I used this strat against Titan, Ogre, Jabberwock, Alexander, Bahamut and Odin, the others, I employed the Aeroga strat from the Cloud and Zack Challenge as it was the best way to go through those and keep Sephiroth healthy (Mostly). It was touch and go against the King Zu and he even knocked out Sephiroth; but Cloud persevered and defeated the flaming bird. Bahamut ended my runs more times than Odin; but nonetheless, ATB Boost on Cloud, moved out of the way from Bahamut, surprisingly he missed his melee attacks, allowing me to cast Haste and Bravery on Sephiroth and the run was on. Built up ATB and Limit gauges up and when Bahamut was charging up to go into his next drive, I used Zanshin Rising on his wings to pressure him. Used my limit breaks when needed, used Aeroga to heal Cloud, even a synergy attack to erase the particles and was able to defeat Bahamut WITHOUT HIM TRANSFORMING into his next drive. Also, staying in the air against Bahamut while air slashing did help out immensely. As for Odin, I used ATB Boost on Cloud, tried to dodge his spear but I got hit. Instead of a follow up attack, Odin just moved out of the way, thus giving me time to cast Bravery and Haste on Sephiroth to start my run. I built up the Aura Charge and started slicing the air to damage Odin. When he attacked Sephiroth I dodged out of the way as parrying with him is weird and far too risky. Anyway, once the limit was ready, I used it and this was enough to pressure Odin, I switched over to cloud to build up a bar and used Focused Thrust to increase the pressure bar on Odin. Started building up the limit bar again but got hit. wasn't bad though as I dodged his next attack and was able to stagger him. Filled up the limit again and while Octoslash was being used, I switched to cloud to build up his ATB so that he can quickly cast Aeroga to heal himself and damage Odin, quickly switched by to Sephiroth to deploy Octoslash Prime. Odin then gets out of the way and starts up Spatial Distortion, got Sephiroth out of the bad spot before the second wall closed, then continued to build up the limit bar again. For some weird reason, Odin used Spatial Distortion again, course it doesn't work as he just casted it, Anyway once the limit was ready, another Octoslash followed up with Octoslash Prime and Clouds Focus Thrust to force Odin to pressure himself again. He then uses Temporal Imprisonment on Sephiroth but by then it was already too late for him. Cloud pushes his pressure bar close to the end and dodges Ring of Helheim, a quick air slash with Cloud staggers the bastard and with two full ATB bars, Aeroga wasted him. Overall, while this challenge is easier than Zack's, it's nonetheless annoying and difficult as all hell. Your guides helped me through not only this challenge; but also Zack's and Rulers from the Outer Worlds. You are the best dude.
I don’t comment on videos often but I want to thank you for all the work you have put on these videos. Thanks to you I was able to finish all the VR challenges, all I have left is to finish hard mode for the platinum. Keep up the good work you gained a subscriber out of me, thanks again.
Thank you my friend, you saved me hours of stress with these guides, I was stuck at outer worlds and you showed me (all of us) the way very simple. But, as much as I am glad, it is sad that we need to rely on these cheese strategies, here in VR and in other minigames, because it is so stressfull and not well done challenges, this game is so important to many of us that getting a plat trophy is like a requirement to live, but those VR challenges are very, very awfull in my opinion, even using your guide it stills a bit difficult because if you miss something you pay hard, and not to mention that I was tired of seeing summons again and again, like "give me a new enemy, I'm tired of bahamut and odin" (which are really stressfull fiends). Again thanks to you I can finally move on, and more importantly without a huge load of stress and anger.
Thank you Optinoob. Watched this video 3 times, and beat To Be A Hero first try. Odin battle got scuffed and Cloud died about 3 times but managed to recover and secure the win. Your content is great, clear, and straight to the point and I appreciate the effort you put into the videos.
All right now I just got this first try and I even kept the same loadout as for bonds of friendship. This one is an order of magnitude easier than the previous challenge. You end up being so well prepared with Cloud and Zack that this becomes a piece of cake, seeing how broken Sephi is in battle. Thanks for everything. Couldn't have done it without your precious guides.
After many tries, I finally got him. I switched around all the Winds to Lightning (I don't think this mattered), and I went with an all-out Bravery Sephiroth Limit Break strategy for Odin.
i did beat this challenge with using your build from the Zack challenge i just did the same thing with Aero. i was so close to quitting the game before i found your guides for all the hard challenges and i can't thank you enough ,man you've made my life so much easier!!! don't give up guys you all got this thanks again ❤❤
Wow, incredible guide as always, got this one first shot! helps when you have the much-more-competent Sephi instead of Zack xD seriously tho you've helped me so much get through these excruciating syms and I am forever grateful. keep up the great work and i'm sure we'll all be needing your help in part 3! cheers!
Can’t go back and comment on every video, but I got the platinum a few days ago largely thanks to your videos! Thanks for being a disembodied companion through Outer Worlds, TbaH, and BoF.
I've found with Kujata it's worth letting him absorb the element. Basically if you use wind 3 just as he starts to move he will burst through the first element and not have time to get the second. Ice and Fire both heal you constantly which makes it easy to build prime mode. Then he's pressured after you hit his weakness with 2 level 3 spells. It just makes the whole thing go a lot faster and tbh I find his elemental modes a lot safer in general.
I did this as well, well it wasnt planned😅 but after that I found that Kujata roars more often and sometimes to soon after the first roar so I dont have time to use wind level 3. He did get both elements maybe thats why he is in such a hurry to get the last element😂😂. Sephi died to that tri attack so I have to start over.
Finished it today. Somehow I spent much longer on Zack's challenge, but that's maybe cause I didn't know the fights as much as I did when I did Sephi. At LEAST we can make use of Sephi's mechanics a bit more in this one, but it was still excruciating and draining. Platinum trophy is within reach now, and that wouldn't be possible without your guides, you're an absolute legend
Sephrioth: dash triangle spam Cloud: support. Manawall, cure etc. link with mp absorb where possible. Bit of wind also. That's how I'm technically going to approach this.
Cannot f##king believe it literally just beat odin with sephiroth stuck in distortment and cloud fell unconscious as he cast the wind level 3 that killed him literally was about to scream until i heard the victory music. Thanks alot for all your videos man couldn't have done it without you! Just going to see johhny then will be apart of the platinum club 🤩
I wanna cry. I had the same expereince but Odin got me. Couldnt even see the yellow on his HP bar. What a sick sick disheartening feeling. Good for you though man.
Just beat this as my last VR Mission! Thank you for ALL the help, it made a world of difference. I plan to watch along with your hard mode playthrough as I do mine, hoping it will be fairly quick, I'm expecting it will be much easier than these! Great work man, it's amazing to see how many people you helped in the comments. Truly a Soldier, First Class. Much love!
Just an FYI, you can swap the empowerment materia for something else like ATB boost as long as you have the enemy skill materia equipped. Just use sonic boom and it grants both faith and bravery on the user.
This is true, and it's what I ended up doing, but the Faith buff from Empowerment lasts much longer than from Sonic Boom. The buff from Sonic Boom is very short.
Your videos and guides are what got me through the legendary fights, man you're a lifesaver, I had to stop for a couple of days before I was in the right mindset for this one and the moment I beat Odin the first thing I thought was "I have to leave him at least a comment", you're a legend brother, much much appreciated!
Holy shit that last challenge was no joke! Even with your incredible guide, I was still put the test by understanding Bahamut’s and Odin’s attack patterns and timings. Thanks to you I was able to secure the platinum trophy, you’re the GOAT Optinoob!
Thanks Optinoob, these guides have been amazing. I will say, for whatever reason I had more trouble overcoming Odin in this one than in Bonds of Friendship. I ended up just mainly staying on Sephiroth to spam the dash slash to build up Limit Break and then immediately using it rather than saving it. Ended up using the LB about 4 times through the fight. Still did cast Reraise on both as a safeguard against Zantetsukan in case things went pear shaped. Only went to Cloud to use Prime and cast Ice3 when it was safe. Aside from how to approach the challenges, you were extremely helpful highlighting various things that had escaped me; how effective Prime Mode is, the extra buff it and Punisher mode gives on the last hit and numerous enemy traits/mechanics such as which mode to use when blocking Bahamut. Thank you again.
I am so grateful for your guides. I finally did all of them and now just have to clear chapter 13 and 14 on hard to get the Platinum. Most of the stuff I could figure out by myself, but when it came to Rulers Of The Outer Worlds and the challenges with Zack and Sephiroth I needed help. Thank you 🙌🏻
Am I crazy or Odin here feels more overtuned than in Bonds? like ong he goes in Zantetsuken after 2 seconds even tho I’m not taking hits and he’s literally everywhere on the battlefield like fr he mad crazy T.T plus I can’t use Sephi that well
Thank you so much Optinoob! Your strategy here has been amazing. I finally managed to beat this yesterday after trying for a few days. The key was getting used to building Sephiroth's limit break. For others who are struggling: - Make sure you are holding down square to completely finish the Prime Mode moves with Cloud to make full use of it's effect and ATB. - For the first fight with Titan, if you don't want to build Sephiroth's limit break, just keep getting 2 ATB with Cloud and use Wind 3. He will go down quick. - Use Manawall with Sephiroth at the start of each fight if your MP doing fine. - For the dragon in Round 6, I would get petrified at random times and have to start over, so i went in with the Cleansing materia and cast resist on Sephiroth at the start of this fight to avoid this (swapped with Enemy Skill). - Remember, for building Sephiroth's limit break, use Circle then Triangle TWICE, then back to Circle, I found this will increase the limit break bar much faster and was the key for me to Victory. - For Odin, just go all in with your limit breaks, synergy and Wind 3, make sure you use Faith, Bravery, Manawall and Reraise too. - Make the most out of infinite MP with Sephiroth after using Synergy. So glad this one is out the way. Thanks one again Opti! You explain everything really well, and your guides are easy to follow.
Dear Square Enix, Please don’t make Part 3 endgame as difficult as this one. Love Lady Rhea All jokes aside, thank you so much for getting me through all these simulations optinoob! I could not have done it without you. You and these guides are top tier, see you in Part 3 lol.
Finished this with the help of you and one other video guide, thank you! I think this one is slightly harder/more stressful than the Zack one. Maybe it’s because I kept seeing everyone say how much easier it was but to me his circle/triangle dodge thing was insanely clunky and hard to control and I never fully got the hang of it. I still need to finish Zack’s but I wanted weapon level 9 first and now I have it. So glad to be done with this Seph battle
managed to do it on the second try (died with Odin at 20% HP the first time) these guides were an absolute life saver - my hands may have cramps, but I have the platinum now - and couldn't have done it without your help. thanks so much! also that 9 million XP you have - I can't even imagine how much work it was to find out, not only strategies that work, but ones that can followed by people as easily and reliably as possible. huge kudos!
Oh man, you were so close the first time! For me the first attempt ended with bad luck at Alexander, but I managed to beat it on the second attempt as well.
If you are having problem even following his guide, you can just build Cloud as a support. Buff Sephiroth so he doesnt die and to give him more damage, and just keeping doing this limit cheat. You can kill every boss like this. Sephiroth is a beast with his Limit.
@@revanpuddin ah no, I was talking about the bout with Zack. I do the simplest of mistakes and end up dying on the Odin stage after taking half of his health
this guide is actually amazing, it's genually insane how easy this is for me now. I was literally stressing thinking about this challenge and now I'm literally playing it for fun to get a lower time lol. THANK YOU so much.
It’s infuriating that I could one-shot the Zack rounds but fail twice (so far) on Odin here. I keep getting hit here and there trying to build Sephiroth’s limit gauge before switching to Cloud, and everything just seems to go downhill from there. 😕 Having to redo these nine fights again and again is really disheartening, especially on a limited schedule.
Completed all challenges thanks to your guide. This was much easier than Bonds of Friendship, defeated Odin on my first try. Just need to complete the story on hard mode and then the platinum is mine! Thanks
I finally beat this challenge, thank you so much. With the help of your guides I was finally able to get the virtually renowned trophy! Now all I have left to do is get the rest of the stuff for Johnny’s sea side inn for that trophy and then my 2nd play through on hard! Again, thank you for your contribution to the community, your content doesn’t go unnoticed!
Thank you!! After watching your strategy video and trying dozens of times over several days, I finally succeeded. I'm so nervous that my hands are still shaking. Thank you so much.
Hello friend, care to do guide for Six-Person HM Bouts in Battle Collosseum? This hits me harder than is should after all Brutal and Leggendary Challanges in VR.
@Optinoob don't worry about that, I just realised you can turn down difficulty for it. I assumed they need to be done in Hard Mode since they're new game + fights.
just wanted to say thank you for all your guides too! Pushed me throught he brutal and legendary bouts these last weeks, and I never thought I'd be able to do it!
Umm, don't be offended, but you sound a lot like the guy from SwitchUp Also, the reward for THIS fight is amazing because you can get Weapon Level 9 for Cloud with it(last manual) then do the Zack fight. I heard playing as Sephiroth is op af, so you could put the limit materia on Cloud to get 1.5 faster limtis with Sephiroth.
Not offended mate, not sure who that is, but even if its a bad thing, im far from perfect ;) You wont be doing 50000 damage though without Genji Gloves!
I have returned to restate how brilliant you are! You got me through all of the solo legendaries, helped me beat Bonds of Friendship after only a few tries, and got me through To Be a Hero on my first try! All that's left is hard mode for me, thanks to you!
@@DOOMLOOT I got it done, you just need to adjust to the range with sephiroth and still mostly use cloud, swap to sephiroth when you need to trade aggro. u have to get a feel for when you will have time to cast faith on yourself. don’t follow this step by step, just get your own feel for it. remember that you already did this with Zack and should know the fights

Thank you for these strats/guides. Thanks to you I got all of these challenges knocked out. It was tough, but you made it much more manageable. Appreciate the hard work making these videos.
Hands down the best series of guides I've seen on UA-cam. Thank you so much, I couldn't have done it without you. All that's left for me is Bonds of Friendship, hoping it's not much more difficult than this one.

Quick question:
Is the “Faith” buff you get from empowerment material stronger or longer-lasting than the “Faith” buff you get from the Sonic Boom Enemy Skill?
Just curious if I could swap out empowerment for Luck Up or something since I’ve already got the Enemy Skill Material on w this build.

This series has very much been the gold standard for boss tutorials. Thank you.
What this game could do as a reward for beating all challenges and hard mode is make Zack and Sephiroth party members just for the fun as there’s nothing else to do once you done hard and challenges
That would make replaying the game again much more engaging.

@@R0D3R1CKV10L3NC3 yeah, that double adjudicator battle was ridiculous.
@@obscurity3027 it's so oddly difficult for just a normal encounter, probably took me as many tries as most hard mode boss fights.
This really helps a lot bro. Thanks.
Brilliant. Thanks for sharing. Wish I saw this working Bonds of Friendship, lol.
Trianglr Zanshin instantly destroys the wings.
Oooh noted. I try to cast back to back but this seems like a good way to get your guaranteed Aero 3 after you break his wings
I solved this by just sneaking in just an aero2 instead of a 3, it still helps his stagger along, just takes a bit longer
dude you're awesome, hope you're channel blows up!! you deserve way more views and recognition.

@@kevincushing3165 Thanks mate and always a pleasure ;)
You know what would've been a great reward for finishing this VR Missions? A playable hologram of Zack and Sephiroth for the story mode
As long as it doesn't affect the story I don't think it matters too much
Or at the very least, have them selectable in colosseum and other VR missions
I have written maybe 5 comments all together on youtube, but I have to say this. You sir are the greatest soldier first class that has ever existed on youtube. You saved me from going insane cause of the vr challenges. Thank you very much!

It's guaranteed three years for the 30th anniversary
Oh i want platinum too if i keep following this guy i will finished all right🙏🏻?

It doesn't always go as smoothly for some of us as it does for you, but your builds allow for plenty of error (to the point Cloud or Sephi can die in this challenge and it's not a game over) instead of making people master perfect block.

MAN OH MAN. It took me forever to beat Bond of Friendship, but I did this one first try and I almost fumbled on Odin. Much love to you for these videos. Amazing

What’s wrong with can’t stop won’t stop?
It's fixed now!
Can be really usefull in a pinch (Cloud being silenced, Cloud being dead, ...)
Anyway, great guide and thanks, I could finally have my 88/88 for Johnny ! :')
Just got Plat one hour ago. Thank you so much for all these videos who have helped us all so much. YOU sir, are the real hero.
Finally got 7-star hotel today. You came in clutch and your guides are aces. Next stop hard mode and platinum.

@@ltlsWhatltIs TBF you can't really compare the story mode on hard and the brutal/legandary challenges, but only thing I found as a real pain, was Rulers, Barret legandary and Bonds of Friendsship
All of your guides have been incredibly useful. Just did the final one and got the trophy. Thank you!
Passei!!!! Finalizei os desafio até que enfim. O cara é brabo mesmo. Mas ralei. Sou ruim pra caramba hahahahahahaha
Like many others I have just come here to say you are my hero and saved me years of throwing myself against a brick wall. Thank you!!
Made it to the last VR mission solely watching your videos.
Huge thanks for the amazing guides.
Looking forward to the hard mode playthrough
Used your guides for the combat challenges in remake and now rebirth 🙏
Completed bonds of friendship in a few hours and this one first try.
And I've done it! Cheers Optinoob your guides saved me so much trial and error time great work and effort put in with these vids!
After stepping away for a few days, I came back following your guide and beat it on my first go! Thanks for putting this guide out there!
Got the platinum yesterday. Wanted to thank u again for your guides
I switched around all the Winds to Lightning (I don't think this mattered), and I went with an all-out Bravery Sephiroth Limit Break strategy for Odin.
i did beat this challenge with using your build from the Zack challenge i just did the same thing with Aero.
i was so close to quitting the game before i found your guides for all the hard challenges and i can't thank you enough ,man you've made my life so much easier!!!
don't give up guys you all got this
thanks again ❤❤
Wow, incredible guide as always, got this one first shot! helps when you have the much-more-competent Sephi instead of Zack xD seriously tho you've helped me so much get through these excruciating syms and I am forever grateful. keep up the great work and i'm sure we'll all be needing your help in part 3! cheers!
I finally make it to Bahumat after a few tries of this, and the first thing he does is silence Cloud and neutralize the entire strategy.
Sephrioth: dash triangle spam
Cloud: support. Manawall, cure etc. link with mp absorb where possible. Bit of wind also.
That's how I'm technically going to approach this.
I just finished this and platinumed the game with your help. Salute to you Mr. Optinoob. Very smart yet sounds very humble.
The final legendary battle strats from a LEGENDARY player.
You rule, @Optinoob
For others who are struggling:
- Make sure you are holding down square to completely finish the Prime Mode moves with Cloud to make full use of it's effect and ATB.
Dear Square Enix,
Please don’t make Part 3 endgame as difficult as this one.
Love Lady Rhea
All jokes aside, thank you so much for getting me through all these simulations optinoob!
Guys trust me on this use plasma discharge it will make your nightmare go away it help me so much at Odin and bahamut
Got my Platinum today thanks to you! I don't think I would've been able to do so without your guides so a big thank you to you!
Two days struggling hard in Odin but i finally beat his ass. Thank lord Jesús.
managed to do it on the second try (died with Odin at 20% HP the first time) these guides were an absolute life saver - my hands may have cramps, but I have the platinum now - and couldn't have done it without your help. thanks so much!
also that 9 million XP you have - I can't even imagine how much work it was to find out, not only strategies that work, but ones that can followed by people as easily and reliably as possible. huge kudos!
Oh man, you were so close the first time! For me the first attempt ended with bad luck at Alexander, but I managed to beat it on the second attempt as well.
Bahamut and Odin are holding me back but I’ll do my best to clear these two bouts in two days
Once you get used to sephiroth's dash you'll clear this in no time, keep grinding, good luck
@@juandavidyepespachon119thanks for the encouraging words mate 🫶🏼
this guide is actually amazing, it's genually insane how easy this is for me now.
Thanks
Thanks, amazing guide again
Umm, don't be offended, but you sound a lot like the guy from SwitchUp
Also, the reward for THIS fight is amazing because you can get Weapon Level 9 for Cloud with it(last manual) then do the Zack fight. I heard playing as Sephiroth is op af, so you could put the limit materia on Cloud to get 1.5 faster limtis with Sephiroth.
you literally just dodge around as Sephiroth and press triangle and his limit goes up in 30 seconds, Cloud is there just to buff him up
Not offended mate, not sure who that is, but even if its a bad thing, im far from perfect ;)
You wont be doing 50000 damage though without Genji Gloves!
The guides where they do that get this done in 20 minutes or so, I do it in 12 here
@@Optinooby they're the best Switch review channel around, much respect
@@Optinooby true, true, I tried it and it's not easy. I prefer glass cannon strategies in games as well.
I have returned to restate how brilliant you are! You got me through all of the solo legendaries, helped me beat Bonds of Friendship after only a few tries, and got me through To Be a Hero on my first try! All that's left is hard mode for me, thanks to you!
what am i missing, i keep getting hit trying to do this with sephiroth
This method isn't working for me either
@@DOOMLOOT I got it done, you just need to adjust to the range with sephiroth and still mostly use cloud, swap to sephiroth when you need to trade aggro. u have to get a feel for when you will have time to cast faith on yourself. don’t follow this step by step, just get your own feel for it. remember that you already did this with Zack and should know the fights
@@emotionalinertia I did finally complete it last night with this method. I think rng was just fucking me over tbh.
Thanks to you I have been able to do these sims ever since rulers of the outer worlds and have now got the plat. Your guides have been very easy to follow and you explain things so well. Thanks again and good luck for hard mode! I'm sure you'll smash it
I gave in, everytime its either kujata never freakin dies, or *if im lucky to get past him) odin jus spams and does zantesuken whenever he feels like it.. and I cant get my atb up continuiously to stop him....this crappy azz program is the worst setup in a rpg ever in my 32 yr experience
ok I lied, I did the sephy spam trick in conjuction with your method and finally introduced those dayum annoying beasts to the undertaker, THANKS a MILLION for your patience and putting up wit my rants I jus been at this for 3 days wondering if i wasnt good enough but i came this far, so I just need to finish zacks and ill move on to the nexgt
Skill issue.
This was my final Legendary Bout. You motivated me through all the simulations and I'm sure I'll be using your other guides in the later chapters. Thank you so so much. 1 step closer to the platinum!
PLATNIUM IS MINE!!!
