@@a.d.1563 It's wrong to call her THE Queen though. It's implying she is the only female monarch in the world, which she is not. I believe saying ''A'' Queen is more appropriate, unless Margrethe II dies and Leonor/Victoria/Elisabeth/Catharina-Amalia/Ingrid/Masalanobo don't get the thrones of their own respectful monarchies and countries will it be correct to call her THE Queen. (Which is both equally unlikely to happen during Elizabeth II's lifetime (Her being the only female monarch), considering Margrethe is much younger than Elizabeth, and the fact that Masalanobo will become the Modjadji of the Balobedu after around 3 years, and also that King Karl VXI-Gustav is getting increasingly older and prepping Victoria to take the throne)

You want to know what happens when the Republic is proclaimed in a country accustomed to monarchy? Study the history of Brazil. Destruction, poverty, dictatorships, corruption, violence ... Long live the Emperor Dom Pedro II.
odranoeL Dalstrin I'm brazilian and all I have to say to that it's that you're completely right! Brazilian Empire, especially in the rule of D. Pedro II, was the better period in the history of Brazil. Only after the last ditatorship we could be able to progress to a level similar of it... The fall of monarchy here was a militar blow and let all the people back in that time horrified (people wich really loved the monarchy and it's emperor). England has nothing to gain but everything to loose with a republic, the monarchy (and the royal family) brings turism that stimulates the economy there and controls the corruption there! All I want in Brazil it's that the monarchy could be able to return and act with respect and honor like the british queen or our great last emperor!
Thanks for this great show, I am from Germany and I enjoyed this Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II so much!! Its a honour for me to watch this, I´m 53 years old, and I think we all should be proud of her! She fought against our evil regime more than 70 years ago, and herewith I want to say "thank you"! She's what we use to keep the government we elect in check, she's what we have instead of millions of guns. I can tell she was trying hard not to cry in this with the crowd cheering love for her and her son endearing her too
It was lovely to see! :)
If you read her bio you will see a woman of great integrity and courage. Her role as Queen meant her life would not be her own. Duty would come before pleasure and she accepted that with elegance and grace. I don't think we'll ever see such regal dignity again. As good as they are, the current royals just don't have her 'presence.'
Exactly.

Imagine the queen singing "God save me wheeeee"
I always ask myself how her Majesty feels when this "God save the Queen" is played and sung.
Maybe a bit tired of it since she's heard it for nearly 70 years now. :P
The anthem is not specifically about the Queen, it's about the monarchy, the head of state, and the nation as a whole. There are more verses that are about Britain, they're just never usually sung. So I expect she sees it as having a higher meaning, and not about her individually.
You can see how overwhelmed she was throughout the whole thing. She is an amazing woman. So prod to be from England.

So, why do you admire the people of England only? What about the Scots and Welsh and Northern Irish? The Queen isn't Queen of England, as you seem to think. There is no such title, because there is no such sovereign country as "England" and there hasn't been since 1707, when the nations of Scotland and England joined together to become "Great Britain".
You make the fundamental mistake that too many non-Brits make, in assuming that "England" = The whole UK. No it doesn't. The UK is short for "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" and the Queen is Queen of the whole of the UK. ["Great Britain" is simply the geographic term for the largest British Island (the mainland) which comprises Scotland, England and Wales.]
By referring to "England" only, you miss out around 10 million inhabitants of the UK (5.5 million Scots, 2,5 million Northern Irish and over 2 million Welsh people) all of who are "reigned over" by the Queen (who is half Scottish), as well as the inhabitants of England. And please don't say (as many do) "oh, it doesn't matter..." Yes, it does!
I am very proud to be British.
Your monarchy is a joke. A monarch who doesn't have power couldn't be more useless. Hence, parliamentary monarchy is a contradiction and has to be wiped out.
We should establish a "Republic of Britain and Northern Ireland" or just "British republic" (Northern Ireland can still be a part of it.. yet).
Vova C Well, you go on and live in your own little world. Meanwhile, the U.K. and the Commonwealth shall continue to have a monarchy that it is ever proud of.
Maybe Russia should free you. It is better to be a russian vassal state, than a fake monarchy, I'd say..
Vova C We're all happy with the monarchy.
Voca C, you really are very jealous of my country and her history, most people who make derogatory remarks from other countries which have not benefitted from our history usually are and really wish that Britain had conquered their country at some time so that they can say, "she is my Queen also" and have pride in saying so.
The whole Commonwealth loves her. God Bless our Queen!!!
I want life to be like this again in the future 🙏
God, I can't tell you how much I love this country. I'm blessed to be British.
You have to agree the Her Majesty has been the most wonderful Queen that we have ever had - I wish her the best of life. GOD bless you Ma'am

That Monarchy has made the UK the most stable nation in history and is the most powerful family in the world, only Ghandi and the Pope rival Queen Elizabeth II in respect given by the people.
No politician can demand the same amount as respect.
Sattack210 Feel sorry for you
ViDeOMaStErPaUl Not from where i stand ! All monarchy are against human natural right. I know nobody close to me who like the queen or the royal family (and the queen is actually the ''official'' head of state of my country (in reality it's a governer who have the job, but still the queen of the place, wich we don't really give a shit about)).
So do I, with the way things have been going BUT we are still the GREATEST one around today
Think you might want to go back and read these posts agaln
When I heard "I vow to thee my country" I immediately teared up :,) cheers from Detroit
