  • Hello all! The rapid review series is a way for students who are closer to their exams to review high yield facts and information about a specific subject matter just to see what large ideas they may need to brush up on. Please save this for the END of your studying, as you may be confused by the speed of the lesson if you do not do so.
See below for our spreadsheet detailing all of our lectures, as well as the drive folder that contains all of our materials for the lecture program.

this is probably corrected later/elsewhere, but the aromatic ring displayed at the beginning is actually a benzyl not phenyl because of the extra CH2 before the R group

you mentioned that you’ll be going through a practice exam and how you would approach it. is there any chance you can do the aamc scored exam rather than the unscored? as i prepare to retake my exam, i felt the unscored was not representative at all and was significantly easier than the others

can somebody pls explain the concept that he begins to discuss at 8:08? he says that the N atom on the left structure is sp3 so it cannot undergo resonance. however, he used the resonance arrow which would mean that the right structure is the resonance of the (left) structure and vice versa. did he make a mistake by using the resonance arrow? should the arrow be pointing from the right stucture to the left structure instead?

The resonance arrow has two heads- this means that the true structure is a hybrid of both structures drawn on the board. So, since the nitrogen is sp2 in one structure and sp3 in the other, it must be sp2, since it needs the free P orbital to resonate.
