- Inspired by an early arrangement of the Lou Reed song as it appeared on a relatively obscure live album by The Velvet Underground (1969), Reed himself was outspoken in his admiration for the Cowboy Junkies’ 1988 recording of “Sweet Jane,” which restores the bridge that had been cut out of the studio recording released on the 1970 LP Loaded. Covering the Cowboy Junkies’ cover of The Velvet Underground song, here’s the CME House Band quoting Lou Reed, telling our gear fans “heavenly wine and roses whisper to [us] when you smile!”

More About "Sweet Jane"
"Sweet Jane" is a song by American rock band the Velvet Underground; it appears on their fourth studio album Loaded. The song was written by Lou Reed, the band's leader, who continued to incorporate the piece into live performances as a solo artist. When Loaded was originally released in 1970, the song's bridge was cut. The box set Peel Slowly and See and reissue Loaded: Fully Loaded Edition restored the missing section. The song also appears on the albums Live at Max's Kansas City; 1969: The Velvet Underground Live; Peel Slowly and See; Live MCMXCIII; Loaded: Fully Loaded Edition; American Poet; Rock 'n' Roll Animal; Live: Take No Prisoners; Live in Italy; The Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; Rock and Roll: an Introduction to The Velvet Underground; NYC Man (The Ultimate Collection 1967-2003); Live on Letterman: Music from The Late Show; and Berlin: Live At St. Ann's Warehouse.

Lyrics:
Anyone who's ever had a heart
Wouldn't turn around and break it
And anyone who's ever played a part
Wouldn't turn around and hate it
Sweet Jane, Sweet Jane
Oh Sweet, Sweet Jane
You're waiting for Jimmy down in the alley
Waiting there for him to come back home
Waiting down on the corner
And thinking of ways to get back home
Sweet Jane, Sweet Jane
Oh Sweet, Sweet Jane
Anyone who's ever had a dream
Anyone who's ever played a part
Anyone who's ever been lonely
And anyone who's ever split apart
Sweet Jane, Sweet Jane
Oh Sweet, Sweet Jane
Heavenly widened roses
Seem to whisper to me when you smile
Heavenly widened roses
Seem to whisper to me when you smile
La la la la la la la...
Sweet Jane
Sweet, Sweet Jane

Somebody likes the Natural Born Killers soundtrack a whole lot😁
So good. Laurel’s voice is delightful
Should have named it Sweet Laurel ;)
Had to listen to this again!!!!
Vocals are INCREDIBLE, along with the Band…. TOP SHELF, 5 Stars across the board!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow, really captured the Cowboy Junkies version vibe. Added bonus in my day. Thanks!
Phenomenal! You NAILED IT!⭐️❤️⭐️❤️⭐️❤️
Another great tune! Laurel sounds great! Always enjoy watching Nathaniel play!
Magic, a stripped basic version, bass, drums, guitar and vocals. It does not get any better than this. 😊
Nice job.... great song!
beautiful
Superb performance! So tasteful!
this one, together with "your love" from the outfield, was the top best rendition I've watched from this series
Great cover of a great cover.
My week is complete. How can these Full Band Fridays always be so good? Dont you folks sell instruments at your store or are you a musical commune whose real goal is to take over the Internet with one great cover after another? Who knows… Well I need to go buy more tin foil for this new hat I’m making. #RockOn ✌🏽❤️🎸🍄
Good god what an album and cover!
Just beautiful! Great job as usual
Oh boy, HER VOICE!
This is a Nice Job ! 👏🥢🔥🔥🥢🥢🎧🎧⚡⚡🥁🥁
That was dope! Well done. 😊
🤘🏻 Happy Friday!!!🤘🏻 Awesome job on a fantastic song. I'm liking Laurel's idea too! How about you do that version too. It'd be a great opportunity to show off your skills.😁😉
Sounds 👍
Doesn’t she go by Star Child now? Awesome cover.
Day 1 of asking for Flowers By The Door by T.S.O.L, with vocals

Really nice, but I caught the “controversy” on Laurel’s gear choices (LOLs). Now I have to go listen to those versions. Next week you let Laurel pick?
gotta listen another time, someone is playing too fast
just missing a cover of heroin now guys
I don't care what you think, The Velvet Underground is overrated.
