I did a sign similar to the Love sign. I used a pretty tissue paper. Sprayed first with adhesive. Smoothed on tissue paper. Let dry. I had the same problem cutting out the access. I ended up cutting out fairly close to the edges and used a nail file to get the smooth beautiful edges I was looking for 😉
