Purchase, per your recommendation, back in May 2019. Don't regret it. Great printer. Have used for several applications (mainly screen printing). Thank you.
Thanks so much! I was about to return my Fixxon order but I so happened to already have this same canon printer for my photo printing. Soooooo happy I found your video!
Thank you soooo much for your willingness to teach people about screen printing! You're an Excellent Teacher! I appreciate how you provide reason for why the details on how to screen print! May God continue to bless you 🙏🏽❤️
Thanks for this!!! I blew the print head out on my epson during peak season and couldn't find a replacement Epson in town. Found this Canon and totally love the quality. Life saver.... Thanks
this guy has single handedly help me transform my life with this one video.i really appreciate u my man. I had spent about 400 on trash that were not equips for the job. also he helped me get the setting right for a dark print and the right film. To this day some 3 yrs later I return for references
Dude this is the best comment I have ever gotten. I really appreciate you and I am glad I could help!
send the man his cut then, LOL. 10 percent.
thanks for the review, just ordered this after a ten year old HP printer stopped working. we were sick of it anyway, black ink was $42!!! time for a new printer and this one is perfect for our small operation. thanks man!
I can confirm that running the print through twice will give you very dense blacks. As long as you take your time the registration on the second print will be spot on. You will have to let it sit for about 5 minutes after the second pass to let the ink dry completely. Hope this helps.
How do you register your first print to the opportunity for it to be printed twice in the same film. If that what you meant?
even if you wanted to produce HUGE prints. Like poster sized prints. You can simply block your design out into multiple 13x19 images in photoshop. Print them out on this printer and use clear scotch tape to bring them together for exposure. It's more work but it's actually kind of fun. It's great for producing bigger prints.
are the gaps really that worryful? and so a slight mis-match putting the together is unacceptable right?
How do you seperate your image into multiples ?
thank you brother this helped me in a big way.... i ordered minds the same night
I just bought this printer from amazon and its amazing for the price! Still recommended here in 2021!
What type of transparency film sheets do you recommend for this printer?
It’s almost $400 now on Amazon
That is ridiculous!
@@StartScreenPrintingNowTV sir, please mention printer name and paper. Which you r used.
Hey I went out and bought this printer and i must say its been one of the best buys for my garage printing. I need to step up my exposure unit game now.
+Leo Stewart that's awesome to hear Leo!
How is it now?
Thank you for sharing. I have this same printer and love it! So happy to hear I can use it for screen printing instead of those high dollar ones.
Do you mind sharing where you purchased your ink and films from?
I bought this one, came by again to say it was a good decision! Thanks for this ! :)
Thank you CDP! I'm glad you're enjoying it!
You saved me a lot of money with this video! thank you so much!!!
I just bought this printer based on your recommendation and it's great. Thank you. Instant super-fan!
How much was it when you purchased ? It seems the price has gone up on these online. Im not sure about in stores.
what cartridges do you buy for it when you run out ? just regular canon ones or 3rd party or an all black system ?
HEY HEY BRO just wanted to take some time out to personally thank you!!!!!
You have a smooth way of explaining things ,we appreciate that
Thank you very much. Glad I can help
Epson 1430 is my go too, with instajet film. I used to have trouble with film shrinkage with goldup films until I upgraded.
thank you. my 1430 stopped working and I might buy this one because of you !!!
Man.... I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this video. I just got mine in today. I have the epson artisan 1430 gonna convert it over to sublimation an use the canon for my screen printing for film positives, again really good advice and THANKS!!!!
+David Harrell no problem man! Hope you enjoy
I used to use an Epson ET-2550 ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.
Thanks for the heads up. I was actually pricing the epsons and I'm glad I ran into your video. Great advice. You saved the day (and my money). I also modeled my washout booth based on your video. Thanks again.
+Nkosi K. Akinlabi That's awesome! I'm glad it helped Nkosi!
Thanks for the video. I bought one after seeing this
this setup worked really well for me. i grabbed the iP8720 and use the Arthur inks. If you create the PDFS in illustrator/photoshop and do a lot of film printing, i print in CMYK mode instead of grayscale. You can use the CMYK value 40, 30, 30, 100 and will give you a really deep black. Printing a lot of films in grayscale will drain the gray cartridges really fast, and kind of hard to get just Gray cartridges ink bulk for cheap.
How has the IP8720 worked out for you? I'm thinking about grabbing it over the IX6820
@@davidasog7244 Late response, but im very happy with the IP8720. no problems with film output on 13x19" films with multiple layers. Simple halftones were fine too. Havent dabbled into any cmyk or process printing with it tho.
Thankyou so much. I was trying to figure this out and couldn’t get a good solution
On the hunt for a new printer and I have a heart for canon products.
Hi boss, thank you for the guides. Just right now, we just printed are first vellum and thank you. Now we stop going to FedEx
yo , i got my canon. and u were right bro. its dark opaque. solid . glad i saw you here . im gettin rid of my epson w7640 wasted $249 lols
Thanks for the review. Great video.
Thank you so much for the information!
This printer really works. I had a hard time getting it to print (kept feeding film right through the printer). I found out that using it wirelessly was the problem. Next I had to reinstall the drivers a couple times because of this and the fact I wasn't getting the controls (paper settings etc) featured in the video. Don't give up, this is a great match. I did run into detail issues when exposing, but I was using diffusion dither and it just wasn't the best for tiny detail - also couldn't wash out a .5 pt stroke. AMAZING for the money.
what settings on your PC/PHOTOSHOP did you have to change
Yeah the wireless on it is pretty wonky. Just set it to plain paper high quality.
We are on our 3rd one so they break but I couldn't find anything better.
Any one recommend a 13x19 laser printer ?
Thank you bro... awesome printer, i brought after watching your video...
Great video, exactly what I needed to hear 👍
Recvd my printer and ink can't wait to get started.
Thanks for the tips, great video!!
Thank you, Casey! This is helpful! You rock!
+Marissa Chang Flores no problemo Marissa!
I'm not sure if you already have a video but I would like to know more about choosing mesh frames and difference between thread count?
Thanks for the printer and printing tips.
Thank alot I ended up buying the ix6860 a newer model and that works for film positive also.
thanx - ordered one up via your link
Great vid man!! Keep it up!
Late to the game, but you sold me on this printer.
Also subbed.
Great review thanks.....I'm just getting started and I'm pretty sure im going with your suggestion....oh yeah I'm WatchingYOU!
thank you i appreciate these videos
So much good refernce to me!
Thanks a lot
Great video. Thank you sir!
Hi Casey, thanks for this video! I have the same printer and am wanting to do my own film transparencies for making letterpress plates. I've tried the steps you posted for the black, but it's still not as opaque as the black on your print here. I've tried changing the CMYK and diff. paper settings, but it still looks hazy on the back side. Any other tips you may have? Thank you!
That Arthur Imaging ink is awesome.... I use that same 250 size for my Canon MX922, which is partially why I will get the IX6820 instead of the Epson. Of course, besides the price.
Thanks for the video. I bought a used Epson and of course the ink is empty. I may just buy a new Canon and start off fresh. Thanks for the detailed info. Your film looks great!
Thanks John!!
This video was great! Thank you for the review on this printer...as I am a tattoo artist and I want to get a printer to make bigger prints!
hilarious, that was funny, im watching you, i think you should do more videos like that and teach us
Thanks, I just bought it. 👍
Thank you for the video!
loved this!
I bought my printer
Thanks to this video, save lots of money. :-)
+hector barrera hope you enjoy it Hector. Mines been awesome
hector barrera Have you had any luck. I have spent hours playing with settings, etc. I compare them with the seps I used to get off my Epson r1800 and 3000 and there is no comparison. Looking for any help from someone using cartridge. I am not a beginning printer thosugh it's been awhile. If you were able to get dense positives please let me know any tips. Thanks.
Lol I subscribed because it's informative and not added humor
The print dialogue in PS is very simple, where do I find print “high quality” and change the paper type and stuff?
Man U are awesome, answered my question!!
this is a great video thanks for the upload
Nice video, your awesome! Did you use a special black ink instead of the CMYK ink?
Thank you for the helpful advice! I purchased that printer at a very low price! Subscribed!
Dammit! I didn't notice your affiliate link, have to get a price match from best buy, sorry! :(
+CheckOutMyBeats.com it's all good! I'm just glad you enjoyed the video!
Mine is Canon Pixma IX6810. I belive same model but for Brazil.Really good.

Thank you thank you thank you!!! YOU ROCK!!!!!!!
Next video " where to buy a solid table"" Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is nice! i just wonder if its available in our markets here in the Philippines. Thanks for the review buddy
I’m just getting into this and found this Vedio. I was trying to decide what printer to go with. For a beginner seeing all these responses I’m sold. I still have questions though like what dtf ink can I put in this canon? All I see is epson compatible ink.
Outstanding. Thank you Sir.
+Leo Stewart Thank you Leo!
great video.. Thanks . one quick question is a laser printer an option for the screen printing?
Very informative. Are there similar printers out there for screen printing that print only in Black?
Great stuff.
Great video - thanks
Nice video man thanks.Do you fill all the containers with black ink?
Great job
Great video!! Can you help me with where you bought the bulk transfer paper from? And where I can find refillable ink cartridges I'm having a hard time. Thank you
I've been able to print 13"x 50" film on my Epson 1430. I think the price of a new printer is closer to $500 now.
Dude, you’re badass. Thank you so much 🙏🙌
Can this printer use sublimation ink for tshirt heat press? Thanks
@@davisabbey9129 I would use an epson for that. 7710 is what we use. Cheap on amazon and got the conversion kit from cobra inks.
Great video--Do you know if the Cannon will print 'half tones'?
Coffins tee!!! I rock all the time! Great vid
+Nathan Deganis Librera oh wow! Haha! Thanks for buying one
Actually bought the skater cop tee and you threw in the coffins tee so THANK YOU!!
Hi Casey! Thanks so much for this video! I'm new to screen printing, but would like to try it can you tell me what type of film I need and can you screen print in color?
Great vid, thanks!! :)
EXCELLENT CASEY THANKS BLESS YOU
Super helpful, question can you fill all inks in black ink ?
This is the exact printer that I have. How convenient
Love the price and size it prints.would this be a good choice for transfers as well. I dont screen print. I am stuck between pigment or dye based, not familar with which would be best for my work. I design custom decals and full frame prints so it would have to be durable. Also im assuming it would print wonderful heat transfers for my shirsts? sorry about all the questions mate. cheers
Thanks a lot for making this video. Helped me out a lot. I'm looking at the 'canon pro 100' (499.00) at best buy Canada. Need it for my clothing line.
Good job bro
Can you tell me how many sheets are printed with each ink set
I bought the Pixma on your recommendation and it works great! Any suggestions for r
managed to get better prints on tracing paper by changing my print settings in gimp to photo and greyscale. cheers, now I don't need to put the paper through the printer twice.
Does this printer have any RIP software capability or built-in RIP? Thanks!
What film type and brands do you use? Thanks in advance brother, great video great content Ty.
Do you think the Epson XP-15000 would work just as well?
Thank you for the info on the opportunity. I'm a small time printer and I think I've found my affordable printer.
Now, do you have recommendations for an affordable exposure unit. I think I can make a wash out both and make an diy exposure unit, but I don't want to scrounge for a drawer, shop at home Depot for a halogen lamp but a drill etc. Thanks
Thanks so much for all your advice and cool videos!!!!
What's the difference between 5760x1440 and 9600x2400 print resolution? Which one would be considered better?
9600x2400 will be considered better.
The multiplication represents the print density to make it easy to understand
Thank you very much!!
It’s indeed great help . Is there any printer 24” wide
Thanks for the share
What Epson printer do you recommend for sublimation printing
Love the video. Only the link for the fill ink tank is not working anymore :( any update ? Thank you
Thank you for the review. Subscribed and liked. This is a weird question, but I'll have this printer in a shared space (a makerspace) and I want it to ONLY be for screen printing, so I don't want the colors available, because some will be just printing pictures and wasting ink. Is there a way to make sure this is black only? If color cartridges are removed will it still work?
Very happy to see tihs!We produce this inkjet waterproof film in China!
So what do you do with the other cartridges like cmyk do you just use the regular printer inks and your black fill it with special ink for scree printing
